As His Latest Anthem “ D i f f e r e n t o l o g y ”

Makes Waves Beyond The Caribbean And Gains Global Attention.

Soca sensation Bunji Garlin has already established “Differen-tology” as one of the biggest hits of the 2013 Caribbean Carnival season. Now with a stellar video, a blazing Major Lazer remix and nearly a million YouTube song views later, it is evident that “Dif-ferentology” is likely to become a global hit for the Trinidadian art-ist.

Ian Pantin, manager for Bunji Garlin announced that Bunji Gar-lin is currently recording his new studio album on VP Records for all the territories of the world exclud-ing continental Europe currently under evaluation with another label. VP Records was instrumen-tal in the worldwide success of the internationally acclaimed Reggae recording star Sean Paul.

“It’s been (15) years of search for

the correct fit for Bunji Garlin on the international market and now we are here. There is so much in store inter-nationally for the future of our music

here in Trinidad. I am proud that he is finally getting the international recog-nition that he so rightly deserves. There is so much more to come including con-tinental Europe” said Pantin of the achievement.

Jean Michel Gibert and Ian Pantin are spearheading all nego-tiations with record labels.

Gibert stated “Bunji’s Differen-tology has grown organically world-wide and VP is pushing a very specific strategy to bring the single to the main-stream. Something is really happening today with our Trinidadian artists and I am pleased to see Bunji be part of this new trend. A hint to the govern-ment to take our creative industries seriously and definitely a great encour-agement to the youths who will like to enter into the industry!”

Christopher Chin C.E.O of VP Records spoke on the new deal saying “We are excited to be a part of the new album project from this uniquely creative talent. The future is bright for Bunji Garlin and we are eager to help take him

to the next level”.Bunji was similarly excited. “I

am happy to do this project for my fans who have been eagerly awaiting for me to do an album for them and I said I was going to. I look forward more so, as some added features will be presented and the main focus here is enjoyment, whether the sounds are familiar or unique there is something fresh bubbling in my blood musically and the time is right for a harbinger of sound. Let's now look ahead and enjoy what is to come” said the lyricist.

Throughout summer, Bunji Garlin will perform at select cities across the Caribbean, Canada and United States and Europe.

True Worship 4 - Men of a Great God is carded

for August 11th 2013 at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA) San Fernando at 5pm. Men of a Great God is the annual True Worship event held by inter-nationally renowned worship leader Samuel Dyer. The event serves to unite the body of Christ for the heartbeat of worship, and to empower its members through spiritual songs, psalms and hymns.

Over the past four (4) years Samuel has had power-fully themed True Worship events that have brought su-pernatural change to many. This year the production team is excited to introduce to the public True Worship 4 - Men of A Great God - In-timate Knowledge, Intimate Relationship. For the even-ing, attendees can look for-

ward to a strong cast such as Surrender and Out the Box Project, Sean Daniel, Jesse Ryan, Keron Ramsey, Bry-ant Henry, Selah Prophetic Dance Ministry, and many more.

Many have condemned men as lost and have given up on them, but at TW4 Dyer seeks to highlight all that can be done to change these issues. Through Samu-el’s vision, he aspires to work with the ‘rejects’ and stand supportive of men who have seemingly fallen through the cracks. True Worship 4, also seeks to encourage and lead attendees to a place of worship, and to experience change through the power of God. The event goes beyond a feeling and an emotional experience.

Tickets are priced at $150.00 general seating and

$200.00 for best seats. Tick-et outlets can be found at Maranatha Book Stores (San Fernando and Tunapuna), Shoeaholics (1st Floor Ari-ma Dial Mall and Ground Floor AVM Plaza Chagua-nas), JC’s at Imperial Plaza High Street San Fernando, Divine Inspiration at Brad-ford Mall Port of Spain and the SAPA Box Office.

It promises to be an un-forgettable occasion with many other partnering com-panies on board. The pro-ducer would like to enforce that this is not a concert, a men’s conference, another worship experience, a mere encounter with His Spirit or another simple call to wor-ship... this is TRUE WOR-SHIP 4 where the weight of His glory is can be seen and His manifest presence can be felt!

Trini Jacobs is probably the most flexible, adaptable pro-

fessional you can meet. Her very name was a coincidence. Her 1st label was owned by Jamaicans, she was the only Trinidadian, so they called her “Trini.” Jacobs is her natural surname (which doesn’t seem to be changing soon). Similarly, the launch of her solo career occurred as a matter of necessity not strategy. Though she admits to having made mistakes due to lack of knowledge and guidance she uses the bad times to define the sweetness of the awesome times. Even her baby boy was a chance happening as she was medically diagnosed to be barren. So the lesson here is clearly Ms. Jacobs’ guardian angel is fierce she al-ways comes out on top. No doubt she’d be the perfect all fours partner. Now, she is resum-ing her career now that she can

bear to tear herself away from her son, under new management and with a new style and sound.

Everyone suffers from self-esteem issues. It may have been a bit more intense for Trini as she is extremely shy and extremely curious. In the beginning, she was very uncomfortable with topics of sensuality, sexuality and self-esteem. Her stage presence is not one of her strengths. This was highlighted with her solo ca-reer. Daily, small steps were taken so she could be comfortable with herself. In this process all abusive relationships ended, healthier eating and exercise became man-datory along with pampering, accepting and giving acts of kind-ness and love, until (as she puts it) she fell in love with the act of loving herself.

“Proud of myself is an understate-ment, I love and appreciate every cell and its function in my body, I love

how God made me” boasts Jacobs.“Everyone has various issues. Re-

member being brave does not mean that you don’t feel afraid, it means being able to get it done in spite of fear” she goes on to state.

Her new management team, JC Management, embraces all sides of Trini Jacobs, from the fact that she is more comfort-able without make up and heels to the fact that she is not and never will be a soca artiste. Trini Jacobs sings music. Her waist line cannot deny its intense feel-ings for soca, but the relation-ship is not monogamous. Her waist frequently swings with pop, reggae and R&B. Her lat-est soca release “Can’t Stop This Trini” can be heard everywhere. You can expect some pop R&B type tracks to follow soon. We certainly don’t want to stop this Trini, but we are going to try to keep up.

Twirling, stomping, facial gestures and the shaking of

bells all added to precise hand movements are an indication that something is about to en-gage your attention. In this case it is Kathak…Kathak dancing by Neha Dawar. For those who may be unfamiliar, Kathak originated in India and is one of the six (6) major classical dance forms of In-dia, the place of Neha’s birth.

The world “Kathak” origi-nated from the word “Katha” which means storytelling which is exactly what Neha does when she performs her pieces. Cur-rently a fashion design student at the University of Trinidad and Tobago, Neha fell in love with the artform while return-ing home from tabla classes. “I passed a classroom and saw beau-tiful intricate footwork, and I was overwhelmed. The next Saturday I was in that particular class learning the beautiful footwork I admired” shared Neha. Two years later she

was in India training with her guru, a decision she would never regret. According to her, Kathak takes a lifetime to learn and de-mands a high level of command over music and the knowledge of Hindu and Muslim poetry.

As a professionally trained Kathak Dancer, Neha is always focused on ways to perfect her craft and has performed at a number of venues in Trinidad and Tobago. Neha not only

tells a story through her dance moves, but also through her at-tire which is designed by her (Remember it was mentioned that she is a fashion student); just as her dance all intricacies are given attention.

“Dance is my expression, if given the opportunity to dance all day I would do it” said Neha as she expressed her love for Kathak. Nothing less than three (3) hours daily is dedicated to her

craft, “I have to remain focused, it is mandatory when it comes to your talents” she shared. Carrying on a 4000 year old Kathak legacy is a challenge that Neha has decid-ed to embrace with confidence, poise and passion.

When Neha is not danc-ing she is tending to her other talents; image consultancy and jewelry making. Interested in finding out more about the tal-ented Neha Dawar check her out on facebook >>> https://www.facebook.com/kathakneha and Tumblr >>> http://www.tumblr.com/blog/nehadawar

Nestle Trinidad and Tobago Limited launched its new

range of Orchard Vibe natural fruit drinks on Wednesday 24th July 2013. The affair which was cheekily entitled ‘Revelations’ took place at the Nestle head of-fice at Valsayn. The venue was transformed with awe-inspiring décor which reflected the creative packaging of the product and gave the atmosphere an electric, youth-ful exuberance.

The event was a semiformal affair with a plethora of culinary treats available to those in attend-ance. The attendees were made up of various members of the busi-ness community, Nestle staff, me-dia personnel and some celebrities from the entertainment fraternity.

Speaking of entertainment; those in attendance were treated to performances by Kes the Il-lusionist and comedian turned soca star Terry Seales. Among the

familiar celebrity faces were Island People executive Colin Greaves and former Miss Barbados Leah Marville.

Each person present had the chance to sample the new prod-uct as well as signature cocktails which incorporated the Orchard Vibe flavours created by the bar’s

skilled mixologists.Orchard Vibe is available in

four different flavours and was specifically designed to target “on-the-go” consumption. The attrac-tive bottle offers a thirst-quench-ing beverage that consumers can enjoy during various moments of their hectic lives.

Former Marine Wendell Agu-illera is silently stepping up

the ranks to prominence in the local entertainment sector. The rapper/singer has been doing his thing in the hip hop circuit since 2008 and has performed as far as Russian city, Moscow and also US state California. Now, the Maloney resident is keen to make his presence felt for his fel-low Trinbagonians as he is in the process of marketing and releasing several singles over the next few months.

psy!ence (as he is known in en-tertainment circles) currently has two songs on local radio – ‘Crying in the Rain’ and ‘Put You On,’ yet he admits that things have not been smooth in terms of getting the right airplay as a local rapper. “The local market is a bit restricted, but it is a work in progress. I will con-tinue working on my craft and eventu-ally things will change” he said.

In terms of current projects,

he is completing singles both for his solo project and that of the group he is aligned with known as ‘The Chemical Squad.’ One single he is very excited about is called ‘Fly Away’ which he will also be doing a video for.

Aguillera has a penchant for networking even though he de-scribes himself as somewhat of a recluse. He does not live the com-mon rapper lifestyle as he abstains

from parties and drinking. In fact, when he isn’t in the studio he works as an Emergency Response Technician where he utilizes the skills he acquired in his 9 years as a member of the Coast Guard. However, he has secured produc-tion from Angelo of Studio 53 and he is currently working with some Africans working out of Russia by the name of Architect Music Group.

When asked the reason for his soubriquet, psy!ence (pronounced ‘silence) said he deliberately spells his name in lower case to show hu-mility. He said the name was cho-sen to show that one doesn’t have to make a lot of useless noise to be heard. The exclamation mark in the middle reveals that there is something poignant in the middle of the silence while stating that it also shows his individuality. Pretty deep. I guess psy!ence really does have something to say.

According to a report in The Voice, Hammond’s drummer was reportedly stopped at customs a few hours ahead of the show. As

a result Hammond decided to stand by his friend and return to Jamaica.

"Apparently, they wouldn't let his drummer come into the coun-try. Beres has been working with his band for years, they're like a family, so if one is refused, they all are refused” The Voice reported.

Hammond, 57, was due to perform at the popular venue in Greenwich alongside fellow reggae stars Morgan Heritage and Marcia

Griffiths as part of the 'Beres and Friends' UK tour. The show went ahead without the headline act.

UWI To ProVIDe TrAINING IN ANIMATIoN IN JAMAICAThe University of the West Indies (UWI) in Jamaica will be collaborating with GSW Animation Limited, Toon Boom Animation Inc. and the World Bank to provide some 50 young persons with training and employment in professional animation.

This move is in line with Jamai-ca’s plans to increase opportunity for local and regional animators to get a foothold in the growing US$222.8 billion global anima-tion industry.

The partnership will see the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication (CARIMAC) providing training for qualified

young persons in a specialized new animation programme for six months at the UWI’s Mona and Montego Bay campuses.

On successful completion of the training programme, out-standing participants will be able to obtain employment with GSW Animation Limited in the growing field of animation development.

Under the programme, train-ees will be exposed to a range of professional animation skills sets, including basic principles of anima-tion, digital 2D animation, staging, posing and composition, motion analysis, animating action, charac-ter creation, and storytelling.

So busy, in fact, that he’s dug through his vaults and unearthed a few unheard and

unreleased verses from the late, great Ol’ Dirty Bastard, which Inspectah Deck told The Line Of Best Fit would be included on the upcoming collection.

“RZA has a bunch of Ol’ Dirty tracks and verses that for years nobody’s heard and, from my last conversation [with RZA], we’re supposed to have an Ol’ Dirty track on there,” Deck told the site. “It may be by itself or we might join it on to another song. But Ol’ Dirty is going to be part of this al-bum, that’s a fact.”

Dirty, who died in 2004 from a drug overdose, was last heard when RZA included an unreleased verse as a bonus track titled “16th Chamber (ODB Special)” on 2007′s 8 Diagrams, the last Wu al-bum. A Better Tomorrow is slated for the end of the year.

Name: John Martin Castagne Hobbies: Hiking, going to the gym, running and playing any and all sportsCareer: Student/FinanceWith a mix of English, French, Portuguese, African and Indian; this model’s look symbolizes the ethnic melting pot of Trinidadian culture. He might as well since he is a self-described “True Trini to the bone.” No doubt he would have learned a thing or two about patriotism from his grandfather, the late Pat Castagne, Trinidadian army captain and composer of the national anthem of Trinidad and Tobago.

However, this model is forging his own path in T&T history with a combination of smarts, looks and drive that is uncommon among his

peers. He’s a financially oriented business geek who hopes to fulfil his dream of being a business owner and consultant.

John can’t resist some form of physical activity or the other and that contributes to his healthy life-style. It serves him well as is passion for modelling needs to be backed up with the right physical attributes. He is grateful for being able to explore this passion through Monde-Bleu while still having the blessing of youth. Unlike most Trinbagonian models, Castagne actually researches looks, poses and expressions to en-hance his photo shoots. He is always reinventing himself and he tries to use strategy in his endeavours where possible.

John admits to having a very ba-

sic knowledge of fashion due to be-ing fairly new to the industry. Yet, he was able to pinpoint assertively that his favourite local photographers are Eustace Dyer and Sancho because of their abstract, artistic nature of their photos. His favourite designer is without question Anya Ayoung Chee. He singled her out for the great job she has done in represent-ing Trinidad, placing emphasis on what he describes as “her elaborate, yet relative modern designs.” Cast-agne does appreciate the impact of several foreigners. He likes photog-rapher Terry Richardson because of his “crazy stylized” work with celeb-rities like Kanye West and Beyonce. His overseas designers of choice are Michael Bastian and Ozwald Boateng.

Let’s not do it only because we are half broke in this recession-

ary period, but because all natural remedies are always better for our skin. There are the classics home remedies that are passed down through the ages and through our pages like putting potatoes to work on under-eye circles, this issue we look back at some of them, for those just jumping in the mix and then we explore Epson Salt.

Here are some things to do at home for an always beautiful you:

To remove puffiness from the eyelids, massage a drop of very fresh castor oil on to them.

To cool your eyes, make eye pads using thick slices of cucumber. Another option is to use cotton pads soaked in cold milk. Lie down and place them on your closed eyes and relax for a while.

Putting a drop of rose water into each eye just before you sleep can also refresh your eyes.

To prevent your lips from chapping, use hot water fermentation on your lips and then apply a mixture of Vaseline and honey. Apply this mixture about three times a week.

To delay age spots on your hand, use a piece of lemon and rub all over your hand, before washing. This will delay the onset of age-spots.

To prevent hair loss you should have a biotin rich drink. Blend bananas with honey, yogurt and low fat milk. Drink this for a few weeks.

While blow drying and setting your hair, blow-dry at hot on the roots of the hair. Roll your hair inwards or outwards at the ends. To improve the setting make sure the ends are evenly rolled in or rolled out. Heat the hair for a second and then let it cool. This process of setting the

hair will last longer and make your hair look beautiful.

To condition your hair, after shampooing your hair take some conditioner on your palm and rub it with both hands. Apply from the hair shaft moving downwards. Do not apply on your scalp. Rinse your hair after 5 minutes.

To add extra shine and glow to your hair add 2 tablespoons of malt vinegar. Use it as a last rinse and

towel dry your hair.

A Beauty enhancing element epsom Salt

The natural amazing wonders… yeah right! We all know what Epsom Salt is for, Mom used to purge us with it! Who would ever have thought about it in terms of beauty? Epsom Salt, a pure, time-tested mineral compound, is actually Magnesium Sulfate, which absorbs easily through the skin and

boasts a whole host of modern-day uses, from beauty to health. Here are some health and beauty related functions of Epsom Salt:

To exfoliate: Mix together two cups of Epsom Salt and petroleum jelly. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil for a pleasant fra-grance. Apply the mixture to gently scrub away old cells and encourage a healthier-looking complexion.

For a facial: Mix a teaspoon of Epsom Salt into a deep cleansing cream so you can reap the benefits of this mineral deep inside your skin. Massage the mixture onto your skin and then rinse with cool water. Pat dry.

To accompany a pedicure: Before you go to the trouble of painting your nails, soften your feet by soaking them in a bathtub or plastic basin with warm water and Epsom Salt for at least 10 to 15 minutes. The salt will help to smoothen your feet, giving them a relaxed and refreshed feel.

relaxing bath crystals: Mix two cups of Epsom Salt with a few drops of your favorite fragrance to create a custom bath crystal. To dress up your bath crystals, add a teaspoon of glycerin. Store the crys-tals in an airtight container.

Soothing spa treatment: After showering, massage handfuls of Epsom Salt over wet skin to ex-foliate the body. It's the same treat-ment many upscale spas use, with a quarter of the price tag.

oily hair: Epsom salt soaks up excess oil from hair. Add 9 table-spoons of Epsom salt to 1/2 cup of oily hair shampoo. Apply one tablespoon of the liquid to your hair when it is dry; rinse with cold water. Pour lemon juice or organic apple cider vinegar through the hair, leave on for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse.

Interested in what Roderick ‘Chucky’ Gordon is up to? Well

you’re in luck. We hooked up with him recently and propped him on our Hot Seat. Enjoy!

eT&T: What are you currently working on?CG: I am currently working on the video for an unreleased single titled “Take Your Time” which was produced by The Red Boyz from Barbados and was supposed to be released during Carnival this year. However, I felt as though it was not the appropriate time to release it. Soca and Calypso wise I am also working on five new songs; two with the Red Boyz and one with Sheriff and Starblu and a Calypso dedicated to the Carnival characters. That is what is in motion thus far, although other projects may come about.

eT&T: on average, how much does it cost to bring out a new radio release?CG: For immediate recording and production and of course depending on which producer you are working with. Generally I would say if you are going by a studio walk with at $7000.00 and may run you up to $15, 000, but at least a $10 000 to get a good quality product for the kind of standard we are trying to treat with in the industry.

eT&T: Do you have any Christmas-themed releases planned?CG: Yes, there is a song I am working on by Ibo called “Latin Lady.” It is Christmas based and themed. So look out for that.

eT&T: you have a considerable amount of years under your belt and you have had your share of accomplishments along the way, but it still seems like still you have lots to accomplish. Do you feel like an underdog?CG: Yes, yes, yes… I don’t even

think my years compared to others can even measure up. I have been singing Soca approximately seven years compared to people who have been singing 30 years and I am not talking about Machel

Montano. There are artistes who have been singing for 30 years and now starting to see their way.

For me my seven years are considered to be seven years well spent and I know I have a long

way to go. In comparison to oth-ers, I think my success for the period of time so far can be seen in a positive light. For example, Kes was singing for a number of years before he got “Wotless” so

chucky gordoNeT&THoTseaT

eT&T HoT seaT

I really do not look at the period of time and I expect to be an un-derdog given the current market and landscape. How many artistes under the age of 30 actually per-forming consistently and travel-ling?

To answer clearly YES I am an underdog but considering differ-ent factors and all things being equal it is understood why I am. It is only a matter of time and it is about patience.

eT&T: Apart from being an entertainer, you have been employed in the field of social work. Which of the two careers do you find more fulfilling?CG: I am not currently employed in the field as a Social Worker. I declined to renew my contract just to focus a little more on the music and to put a little more time into it hence the reason I could have this interview right now because if I was working in the Family Court it probably would not have been possible. However, I would say that both are equally fulfilling, but my passion is music. It is my love and that is what has been engendered in me from a tender age. The Social Work is a burdensome job especially because you have to treat with people’s issues and so on.

eT&T: How hard is it to maintain a relationship as a soca performer? Do girlfriends get jealous?CG: It is very difficult. I do not think I put myself in situations for girlfriends to get jealous. I always try to maintain a neutral position when it comes to my involvement as an artiste and having a relationship. Yes they do get jealous for time because of the always busy, always working situations and not always having the time to carry them everywhere. Sometimes you really do not even want to take our girlfriend with you everywhere as well because you want to be in that space and zone and somebody being around who is going to take that space away from you is going to make

it very difficult. It’s really true that it is difficult as an artiste on a whole and people do not understand you need that time and space for the universe and the work of the universe to take its course. Anytime you distract from that emotionally and mentally you are not going to achieve your purpose whether it is with a project, performance or a process.

eT&T: you have deep ties with the much maligned area of Laventille. What is your greatest wish for the community?CG: Education!!! It is the key for my community and communities like ours that are marginalized, underprivileged, impoverished and considered subcultural communities. We need educate ourselves but that is much easier said than done because of the system that we live in. What I am going to say is a deep seated argument; Laventille is the way it is because I think the powers that be do not want it to change and the society itself is not sufficiently well knit to allow people to rise up and say “this is what we want.” Because of the society that we live in and the state of our people, it is difficult for us to come together.

eT&T: Various local entertainers have taken money to make campaign songs for political entities. Would you do the same for the right price?CG: I would say that I would do it, but I won’t for anyone other than the party I am aligned with. I do not want to declare my political allegiance at all. I think it is for the benefit of what I want to achieve as an artiste. Just to hinge on the previous point, the society is not collective in its nature to allow for those things, it is very fragmented and divided so it is very easy to become blacklisted for declaring your party allegiance basically. I am very cautious and particular where that is concerned. Now I mean if certain offers are made, considering your livelihood you

may consider, you may want to and I wish it does not come my way. That is the best way to put it! I don’t want to be faced with that decision at all at this present time, there are a lot of things I want to achieve and I refuse to allow aligning myself politically affect them.

eT&T: Is there a limit to who you would work with no matter the price?CG: No limit, once I like the vibe and the energy and the person is willing to work with me. I mean coming through the seven years as an artiste I have approached some of the artiste at the top of the Soca industry and they have declined. I can understand their position as far as me wanting to work with them and the benefit they will gain… unfortunately that is the thinking. In other territories, people would consider it a lot more openly. I guess it is a reflection of the society as well and who we are as a people. Once our energies connect we are working once the person is willing to work with me.

eT&T: The traditional sound of soca has been diluted and crossover songs like ‘Differentology’ have made waves locally and overseas. Are you afraid that the true essence of our music is not being presented to the world?CG: Yes I am very afraid! The songs that have done well like ‘Differentology’ is still diasporic in nature reaching to the diaspora and audiences we are performing for. We are not making any real dent internationally to the kind of mainstream audiences that we would like and it is unfortunate. I think it is important for us to understand that the music has to represent a people, a time and a place. Unfortunately our music does not reflect that so when we are trying to export our culture to the world they are going to ask “what do you represent, what do you reflect?” We have no

identity as Trinbagonians. I won’t say Caribbean people because Jamaicans are very sure and into the whole concept of identity. I think it is a Trinbagonian thing and again a reflection of the society.

We are in a quandary and making a big out because people are fascinated by us as Trinbago-nians as what we can do and we are not focusing adequately on us and on who we are and what we represent and what we need to reflect. Even the partying culture has gone so extreme that it is just about hype and extreme with a tip on yuh toe and that is what it is and it is unfortunate because sweet music is going out the door. I’m holding fast and saying true to the cause even if I don’t get into the party that is alright, I am doing my thing.

eT&T: Do you have any career regrets?CG: No not personally. Relationship wise although it is something beyond my control I wish that my father was still around to assist and see what is happening as far as growth and development is concerned. Things happened to me that were beyond my control so I would not consider those regrets as it implies a decision that I made.

eT&T: What are your goals for Carnival 2014?CG: I foresee that it is going to be a great year. I would say that 2013 was my best year musically and I intend to improve on that with all the work that I have planned and the team that I have working with me. The work has started and I believe that when you prepare, success more often than not would manifest thereafter. I will be maintaining the balance, doing my Calypso work and this time it would be more than previously. I will be doing the tents and maintaining authenticity and identity which is the self-adopted mantra that I am going to promote as much as possible and I do have my mind made up to compete.

T&T’s biggest mas band Tribe celebrated a decade in the in-dustry in style as they launched their 2014 Carnival presen-

tation at the Queens Park Savannah. The band went back to its roots for the theme as it revisited the Native American Indian

inspired look from the very first year they participated. The launch was a two for one deal because affiliate band Bliss also shared the spotlight. Many were pleased with the band’s

offering on the night and the party wasn’t shabby at all either. Hot guys and gals pranced the night away to premium drinks and stellar entertainment. eT&T pranced along with them in between our photography duties.

The Queen’s Park Savannah was the venue for the very fun and exciting charity event

known as Men in Heels. The event which was hosted by Hot93fm saw men adorn stilet-toes to race for $10,000 for the Trinidad and

Tobago cancer Society. Various corporate entities were represented and a few individuals (perhaps with a penchant for cross dressing) came out to take part. our photographers were there as well and it was an expe-rience to remember. We have a large gallery on facebook, but you can get a glimpse of what took place here.

sounded more like a movie

events extraThe Joao Havelange Centre

of excellence in Macoya was the venue for this year’s premier local bodybuilding

competition. The Sportworld Classic brought some of the country’s best in the art as well as a few inter-national guests center stage for the event. Women screamed and cheered in the audience as the mus-cular men and women flexed away as the night wore on. ET&T was privileged to be a part of the action.

The Jah Heart Foundation took its promotional tal-

ents to WITCo grounds for the third installment of its

We Can Play Football charity event. It was a family friendly outing which featured a hockey post type football tournament in aid of raising funds for children with cerebral palsy and the less fortunate. Those who supported found it was a Saturday well spent. eT&T was there to show some love as well.

The band launches have begun, but Carnival hasn’t arrived just yet. Therefore, there is no reason the girl in the back-ground on the right should be adorned in cos-tume just yet. The unforgiv-able choice of purple lace top with suede knee-length boots and visible gold un-derwear is mind boggling at best. Unfortunately, there is nothing ‘best’ about it.

Talk about uncompli-mentary… this outfit does little to flatter its wearer and trust when we say she could use some flattening in areas. Getting the right outfit isn’t about finding the hottest thing on the store mannequin. re-member that the man-nequins aren’t the ones rocking it when it leaves the store. you have a shape and body of your own. Get the right fit.

The squad is a quite capable collective who follows our

commissioner’s directives to a tee and come out on top of most situ-

ations. Sometimes we really get pushed to the limit and we have to resort to drastic means to subdue or capture couture crooks. Other times (on rare occasions) we end up way over our heads and have to seek the help of our comrades by calling for backup. We pray to God those times happen few and far in between.

Name: Katrina KaifAge: 29 occupation: Actress, model.Claim to Fame: Katrina Kaif is one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood. Katrina was born in Hong Kong to a Kashmiri father and British mother. She spent her childhood in Hawaii and later moved to England. She first came to the notice of filmmaker Kaizad Gustad while she was modeling in London and that led to her break in Bollywood in the film ‘Boom’. She then decided to take acting as her full-fledged career and shifted her base to Mumbai. Even though filmmakers were earlier hesitant to sign Katrina Kaif because of her linguistic shortcomings. With her gorgeous face and hourglass figure, Katrina was flooded with modeling assignments in Mumbai.

Today Kat's kitty is flush with a host of movies. However, she is widely regarded as the Queen

of Endorsements. Due to her endorsements Kaif is one of the highest paid Bollywood actresses. In 2002, she was chosen as Coca-Cola's brand ambassador in Tamil. She has also worked for several skin products companies, particularly Veet, as well as several multi-nation-al brands, such as Panasonic. Kaif is also the brand ambassador of the national airline of the United

Arab Emirates – Etihad Airways. As of 2013, she is brand ambassa-dor of 17 brands - Lux, Veet, Yard-ley London, Panasonic, Nakshatra Diamonds, Slice, Relaxo Footwear, Berger Paints, Sony Mobiles, Eti-had Airways, Olay, Choc On, Pantene, Doublemint, Titan Raga, Uniball Pens and Rhymeskool. She had a Barbie doll named after her and had endorsed various other brands like Airtel, Alokozay Tea,

Dyna, Godrej, Lakme, Spice Tel-ecom, 7 Heaven, Bramha Sun City, Diamond Hut, Durian, Fevicol, Silk n Shine, Kodak, Laxmipati Sa-rees, Old Admiral Brandy, L'Oreal, Provogue, Rage Knitwear, Rivaa Fashions, SD Loungewear, Sea-grams Royal Stag, Sansung Plano, Seasons Store and The Watch House during her modeling days and also during her initial days in Bollywood.

Hollywood loves big budget science fiction and action

extravaganzas, but sometimes true stories reenacted on film happen to make big bucks for US production

studios. The Social Network and American Gangster are two fea-ture films which have managed to combine biographical content with clever screenplay to produce movie

magic. Here, we feature two more similar movie forays coming soon.

The Fifth estateThis film is a look at the relationship between WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and his early supporter and eventual colleague Daniel Domscheit-Berg, and how the website's growth and influence led to an irreparable rift between the two friends. Stanley Tucci and Laura Linney have supporting roles in the film which also stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Daniel Brühl as leads.

A Long walk to FreedomThe second movie is a chronicle of Nelson Mandela's life journey from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa. Idris Elba plays the lead role and while

he may not resemble Mandela, gives a stirring performance that is already generating Oscar buzz.
