Unpacking and Packing

Always retain the original packaging of the storage subsystem for possible

further transport

The storage subsystem should be transported only in its original

packaging or other suitable packaging for protecting it against transport

damage

Please note that the above is also valid for

spare parts, including defective disks

Please observe the acclimatization times

before connecting the system to mains

power

Installation

For complete step-by-step installation instructions please refer to the

Setup and Installation poster or the Operating Manual

Unpack the storage subsystem

Mount the storage subsystem in the rack

Cabling

Connect the system to mains voltage

• Ensure that at least two PSUs of the JX60 and one PSU of the host server are connected with the

same phase

• For phase redundancy the PSUs of the JX60 must be pairwise connected to two different phases or

rack power circuits

Switch on the host server

• Fitted with a SAS RAID Controller or SAS HBA

• Only released SAS RAID / HBA are supported, please see MatrixEP for reference

• The storage subsystem switches automatically on when SAS signal is detected

Electrostatic Precautions

Discharge static electricity from your body (for example by touching a grounded

metal object) before handling modules containing electrostatic sensitive

components

The equipment and tools you use must be free of static charge

Remove the power plug before installing or removing modules containing

electrostatic-sensitive components

Only hold modules containing electrostatic-sensitive components by their edges

Do not touch any of the pins or track conductors on a module containing

electrostatic-sensitive components

Use a grounding strap designed for the purpose, to connect you to the system unit

as you install the modules

Place all components on a static-safe base
