IntroductionThank you for choosing the Matrix Eternity! Please read the instructions in thisquick start to install this feature reached System.

This Quick Start is meant to help you install the basic features and parametersof the system. For advanced installation and detailed feature description,please refer the Eternity System Manual provided to you on the CD-ROM.It is possible to configure the Eternity using following interfaces:• Web interface (TCP/IP)• Telephonic interface (using SLT and DKP)• Serial Interface (RS-232)

Compared to the telephonic and serial interface, the Web interface is simplerand more user friendly. Hence, we recommend the system engineer to use theweb interface to configure the Eternity.

* This Quick Start is applicable for software version V6R13 onwards.

Installing the Eternity

Precautions• Ensure proper electrical earth and telecom earth for safety of personnel as

well as of the System.• Always wear properly earthed anti static belts while handling the cards of

the System.• Use Primary Protection on the trunk and long distance extension lines to

protect the system from lightning and electrical surges.• It is advisable that the system should be installed away from any source of

electromagnetic noise such as any radio equipment, heavy transformers,faulty electric chokes of tube-lights, any device having a faulty coil etc. Thiswill reduce any problem arising due to electromagnetic effect.

InstallationInstalling SLT, DKP and TWT Cards:• Unpack the SLT, TWT, DKP cards and insert them in the universal slots of

the Eternity.• Plug the MDF cable provided with each card in the MDF connector provided

on the front panel of the card.• Refer the cable connections given in the 'Appendix' to identify the ports and

terminate the open end of the cables in the main MDF.• Single Line Analog Telephone instruments can be connected to SLT port,• Digital Key phones viz. Eon45, Eon48, Eon42 and consoles viz. DSS64,

DSS72 and DSS16X4 can be connected to the DKP Port.• Two Wire Trunk (Analog Trunk) can be connected to TWT port.

Installing the BRI Card:Refer below given information before inserting the BRI card in the system.While installing the BRI Card in the Eternity ME• Use the MDF cable provided with the BRI card.• When the BRI port is to be used in the NT mode the Tx and Rx cable of BRI

port shall be crossed with Rx and Tx cables of the terminal respectively.• For using the BRI port in the TE mode, the cable connections shall need not

to be crossed.

While installing the BRI Card in the Eternity GE• While installing BRI card in the Eternity GE, you shall also set the Jumpers

given on the BRI Card as shown below to use them as NT/TE.• By default, all BRI ports are configured in TE Mode.

Common points for installing the BRI card in Eternity-ME and GE

• Depending on the requirement, each BRI Port can be configured in TE/NTmode. It is possible to feed power to the terminal equipments connected tothe BRI port (Orientation type configured as Network) from the Eternity.

• To feed the power on Tx and Rx wires, set the jumpers J1 and J2 of BRImodule in AB position.

• To feed the power on separate pairs of wires, set the jumpers J1 and J2 ofBRI module in BC position.

• To power the ISDN terminal from external power source, keep the jumpersJ1 and J2 open.

• The jumpers J1 and J2 as are provided on the BRI module (daughterboard).

Number of ISDN terminals that can be connected on the BRI portconfigured in NT mode depends on the power consumed by the ISDNterminals. Maximum power that can be provided on one BRI port is 50mA.However, from signaling point of view max 8 terminals can be connectedon the BRI port configured in NT mode. Hence, if the terminal equipmentsdo not consume power from the BRI port (configured in NT mode) of theEternity, maximum 8 terminals can be connected to it

Termination Resistance on the BRI PortTermination of 100 Ohms should be inserted in following cases:

1. When the BRI port is configured in NT mode.

2. When the BRI port is configured in TE mode and connected in Point-to-Point configuration as shown in figure1.

3. When the BRI port is configured in TE mode and connected as lastterminal on the S0 bus (Multi-point configuration) as shown in figure 2.

4. Termination need not be inserted in case 2 and 3 above, if the S0 busitself supports Terminating resistors.

5. Termination need not be inserted if BRI port of Eternity (configured in TEmode) is connected as any terminal other than the last terminal on the S0bus (Multi-point configuration).

To set the 100 Ω termination on the BRI port set the Jumpers J3 and J4(provided on the BRI module) in AB position.

To remove the 100 Ω termination from the BRI port set the Jumpers J3and J4 (provided on the BRI module) in BC position.

While Installing E&M Card

• The E&M Card supports Type-4 and Type-5 connection.• To select the Type-4 connection for the E&M Port, set Jumpers J1 and J2

(given on E&M module) in AB Position.• To select the Type-5 connection for the E&M Port, set Jumpers J1 and J2

(given on E&M module) in BC Position.By default, all the E&M Ports are set to support Type-4 connection.

• The E&M port can be set for the 2-wire speech interface or 4 wire speechinterface as required.

• To select 2-wire speech interface for the E&M Port, set Jumpers J3 and J4(given on E&M module) in BC Position.

• To select 4-wire speech interface for the E&M Port, set Jumpers J3 and J4(given on E&M module) in AB Position.

While Installing GSM (Mobile) Card

• Unpack the Mobile Card.• Connect the antenna (provided with the Mobile card) to the splitter

connector provided on the front panel of the Mobile card.

• Following figure shows location of Mobile port in Mobile card.

Refer following steps before installing SIM cards in the Mobile Ports.

• Installing SIM in GSM Mobile Port

• If you want to use PIN Protection• If it is desired to use the PIN Protection, install the SIM card in

your Mobile handset and enable the PIN Protection.• From the Mobile handset change the PIN to 1234.• Remove the SIM from the Mobile handset and insert in the Mobile

Port of the Eternity.• Installing the SIM with PIN Value 1234, enables you to change

the SIM PIN from the Eternity later on.

• If you don't want to use PIN Protection• Insert the SIM in the Mobile handset and make sure that the PIN

Protection is disabled.• Remove the SIM Card from the Mobile handset and install in the

Mobile port of the Eternity.

• Installing RUIM CDMA Mobile Port• It is strongly recommended to not to use PIN protection facility for the

Mobile port, used as CDMA.

• Using CDMA Mobile Handset, make sure that PIN Protection isdisabled in RUIM.

• Do not use PIN Protection enabled RUIM in Eternity, the RUIM mightget blocked.

If the points related to the PIN protection are not followed, your SIM cardcan get blocked and it will require Personal Unblocking Number (PUK) toreactivate it again.

While Installing VoIP Card

• Unpack VoIP Card.• Insert VoIP Card in the universal slot of the system.• Connect one end of the RJ45 cable (provided with the VoIP card) to

Ethernet port of VoIP card and the other end with the LAN switch or broadband Modem.

While Installing the T1E1PRI Card

• Unpack T1E1PRI Card.By default, termination resistance of DS1 port set as 120Ω, which isfor E1 connectivity.

• To use the DS1 port for T1 connectivity, termination resistance shall bechanged to 100Ω.

In Eternity ME

• DS1 Port -1’s termination resistance can be changed using DIP switchSW5.

• Set Pins of SW5 as shown below to set termination resistance.

position, which shall provide termination resistance of 100Ω.• Connect one end of the RJ45 cable (provided with the T1E1PRI Card) to

the DS1 port and the other end to Modem provided by service provider.

LED indication of T1E1PRI Card of Eternity-ME and Eternity-GE areshown below:

Eternity-ME

• The Eternity ME T1E1PRI Card has four LEDs, viz . L1, L2, L3 and L4.• LED L1 and L2 are assigned to DS1 Port 1, while LED L3 and L4 are

assigned to DS1 Port 2.• LED L1 shows Card Heart Bit as well as status of the PORT1.

Eternity-GE

• The Eternity-GE T1E1PRI Card has 2 LEDs, viz. LED1 and LED2.• LED patterns are defined as shown below for different state and signaling

as shown below.

4. Switching ON the system• Switch ON the system, it takes 2 to 3 minutes for init.• On completion of the initialisation, LED L1 on master card/CPU card

will blink Green with cadence of 1Sec ON - 1 Sec OFF, continuously.

5. How to reach the Home Page of Web Server?

Connecting the Eternity with the computer• Connect the Ethernet Port of the Eternity to the Ethernet Port of the

Computer using the RJ-45 cable provided with the system.• The default IP Address of the Eternity is 192.168.1.1 and Subnet

Mask is 255.255.255.0.• To access the Eternity using computer, the Eternity and computer

shall be in the same subnet.• Follow below given steps to change the Eternity’s IP Address and

Subnet Mask.1. Dial 1#91-1234 (1234 is default SE Password) to enter in SE

Mode (from any SLT/DKP).2. Issue command 2110-<IP Address>, to change IP Address

For example, issue command 2110-192168050010, to changethe IP Address as (192.168.50.10).

3. Issue command 2111-<Subnet Mask>, to change Subnet Mask.4. Dial 00 to exit from SE Mode.

To change the IP Address and Subnet Mask of the Ethernet port of thecomputer go to: My Network Places → Properties → Local AreaConnection → Properties → Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) → Properties.(For computers with windows 2000 and XP Operating Systems)

You may also connect the Eternity in the LAN of the organisation. Butmake sure that the Eternity and the computer you are using to access theEternity are in the same subnet.

• Configuring the Eternity using the Web Jeeves

• Enter IP address of the Eternity in browser’s address field.• The Eternity will prompt for login as shown below.

• Log in as SE• Log in as SA• Log in as Front Desk User

• Click on option to 'Log in as SE', if you are a System Engineer.Feature Menu is displayed on the left side of Welcome page.

• Click on Login button after entering valid User Password (default:1234) for SE:

• On successful log in, you will get 'Home Page'.

• Now you can configure the Eternity Using Jeeves.• The left most side of all the Jeeves Page, contains link list.• Click on the link and the respective webpage will get opened.• Make required changes and click on ‘Submit’ given on the bottom of

the webpage to affect the changes.

6. Select the Country (Region Code)By default, the Country = India. Change the country code from thewebpage, ‘System General Parameters’, Parameter Name - ‘Country’.

Once you have selected the country, give SE command to default theEternity from the SLT/DKP as given below:

1. Dial 1#91-SE Password to enter in SE Mode (from any SLT/DKP)2. Issue command 5302-Reverse SE Password, to load the default

settings for the selected country.

7. Program the Emergency Numbers

• Click on the link 'Emergency Numbers'.• First 5 entries of Emergency Number table are non-editable, you can

only assign the OG Trunk Bundle Group to route these numbers. Thedefault setting of Emergency Number table depends on the Regionyou have selected.

• In default setting, if you don't find emergency numbers recognised inyour region, program the same at in any index from 6 to 10 andassign OG Trunk Bundle Group to route this number.

• Make sure that trunk lines programmed in OG Trunk Bundle Groupassigned for Emergency Number, are capable of routing theemergency number, otherwise the emergency services will getaffected.

8. Enterprise Name

• Enterprise name of up to 80 characters can be programmed.• Refer, ‘System General Parameters’ - ‘Customer Name’.

9. Time Zone - Automatic (Time Table), Manual Time Zone

• By default, all the stations and trunks are assigned Time Table -1.• The default settings of the Time Table-1 is given below:

• Working Hours 09:00 to 18:00• Break Hours 13:00 to 14:00• Non working hours: 18:00 to 09:00

• Refer, ‘Time Tables’ to make changes in this time table.• Refer ‘Station Basic Feature Template’ to assign time table to station.• Refer ‘Trunk Feature Template’ to assign time table to trunk.• It is also possible to set the time zone for the stations and trunks

manually, refer System Manual for more details.

10. Program flexible numbers

• By default, stations are assigned flexible numbers as given below:• SLT : 2001 to 2512• DKP : 3001 to 3128• ISDN Terminal : 3201 to 3264

• Refer ‘SLT Parameters’ to change the flexible numbers of SLTs.• Refer ‘DKP Parameters’ to change the flexible numbers of DKPs.• Refer ‘ISDN Terminal Parameters’ to change the flexible numbers of

ISDN terminals.

11. DSS Console• Each Digital Key Phone can be assigned maximum 2 DSS Consoles• Refer, "DKP Parameters", to assign DSS console to DKP.• Hardware Slot - Port, to which DSS is connected, shall be assigned to

the desired DKP port as "DSS 1 H/w Slot - Port".• To attach second DSS console to same DKP Port, assign hardware

slot - port of other DSS console to the DKP port as "DSS 1 H/w Slot -Port" parameters.

Example:DKP Card is installed in slot 05.Digital Key Phones are connected on 1st and 2nd port of the DKP Card.One DSS is connected to 3rd port of DKP Card.Second DSS is connected on 4th port of the DKP Card.

• To assign one DSS to each DKP port following programming shall bedone in "DKP Parameters".

• To assign both DSS to DKP -001 following programming shall bedone in "DKP Parameters".

12. CLIP

• CLI detection on TRK• By default for region code India, all TRK ports are configured to

etect the DTMF CLI, refer TWT Hardware Template-Rx CLI Type.• Know the CLI type supported by exchange and configure this

parameter accordingly.

• CLI presentation on SLT• In default settings for India and other regions except United

States, Mexico, Namibia and Canada, all SLT ports are assignedSLT Hardware Template -01.• By default, CLIP Type is set as DTMF, in SLT Hardware

Template - 01.• Refer, ‘SLT Hardware Template (01)’ - CLIP Type, to change

it if required.• In default settings for regions United States, Canada, Mexico and

• Class of Service is part of Station Basic Feature Template, by defaultall the stations are assigned Station Basic Feature Template-01, inwhich COS group 03 is assigned for working hour, break hours andnon-working hours.

• Refer ‘Class of Service’ to check the default settings of the CoSgroup 03 and customise CoS group as required.

• Refer Station Basic Feature Template to change the default CoSgroup assigned to the station

• Station can be assigned different COS group by assigning differentStation Basic Feature Templates.

14. Toll Control

• Toll control is part of Station Basic Feature Template, by default all thestations are assigned Station Basic Feature Template - 01.

• By default, all the stations are assigned Allowed List - 03 and DeniedList - 03 for working hour, break hours and non-working hours.

• By default, all the stations are allowed to make Local, STD and ISDcalls.

• Refer ‘External Number List’ to customise allowed and denied numberLists as required.

• Refer Station Basic Feature Template assigned to the station tochange number list assigned in default settings.

15. Trunk Access

• Trunk Access is part of Station Basic Feature Template, by default allthe stations are assigned Station Basic Feature Template - 01.

• By default all stations are assigned OG Trunk Bundle Group = 01.• By default members of the OG Trunk Bundle Group-01 are none,

means in default configuration the stations are not given access toany trunks.

• Refer OG Trunk Bundle to form the OG Trunk Bundles as desired.• Refer OG Trunk Bundle Group, program the OG Trunk Bundles as

SLT 001 to 008.• Made list of operator station for working hours, break hours and non

working hours.• Refer Routing Group to form routing groups with members which are

to be used as operator for working hours, break hours and nonworking hours.

• Refer Operators to assign the routing group as operators.• Refer Station Basic Feature Template to assign operator to the

19. DS1 Port

• By default, the orientation type of the DS1 port is Terminal.• To connect the DS1 port with the Public network, orientation type of

the DS1 port shall be Terminal (TE).• To connect the DS1 port for private networking, the orientation type

shall be set to Terminal/Network depending on the network scenario.• Refer DS1 Port Parameters to configure the basic attributes of the

DS1 port.• By default, the DS1 port is set to support “E1 PRI” signaling. Refer

‘DS1 Port Parameters’ - ‘Signal Type’ to change the signaling as T1PRI/E1 CAS/T1 RBS as supported by the exchange (Network).

and E1 Registered Signaling variant is ‘MFC R2’.• Know the Line Signaling and Registered Signaling variant

supported by the exchange, while in case of private networkinguse the signaling variant supported by both the PBXs.

• Refer ‘E1 CAS Parameters’, to change the attributes of the E1CAS signaling.

• T1 RBS Signaling• To set T1 RBS signaling on DS1 port, go to ‘DS1 Port Parameter’

- ‘Signal Type’, configure it as ‘T1 RBS’.• By default the T1 Line Signaling Variant is ‘E&M Wink Start FGD’

and Registered Signaling variant is ‘DTMF’.• Know the T1 Line Signaling and Registered Signaling variant

supported by the exchange, while in case of private networkingset the signaling variant supported by both the PBXs.

• Refer ‘T1 RBS Parameters’, to change the attributes of the T1RBS signaling.

• Each DS1 Port is assigned following templates in defaultconfiguration:

• Trunk Feature Template Number 01• Station Basic Feature Template Number 01• Station Advance Feature Template Number 01

• The assigned templates can be changed or customised as required.

When DS1 port orientation type is Terminal, the Trunk Feature Templateassigned to it is of relevance.

When DS1 port orientation type is Network, the Station Basic FeatureTemplate and Station Advance Feature Template assigned to it are ofrelevance.

20. Mobile Port

• SIM Card subscribed from the GSM Service Provider can be installedin the GSM Mobile Port.

• RUIM subscribed from the CDMA service provider can be installed inthe CDMA Mobile port.

• Make sure that you are installing the Eternity where sufficient networkcoverage is available.

• Band Selection:• Select the Frequency Band which is used by your Service

Provider. In default configuration Mobile Port is set to operate at900+1800 MHz. Refer parameter ‘Band Selection’ in “Mobile PortParameters” to change the Band for the Mobile Port.

• Network Selection:

Important Points:• In GSM you can select and use network selection as 'Automatic'/

'Manual' as desired.• In CDMA, manual network selection is not supported; hence in

CDMA it is must to use Automatic network selection.• Refer ‘Mobile Network Selection’ for configuring the Network

related attributes.• By default, all Mobile ports are configured to select the

network automatically. The Network Selection Mode isAutomatic.

• If the network is to be selected manually, set the ‘NetworkSelection Mode’ as Manual. Program the Network Operatorcode (MCC-MNC) in priorities for the Mobile Port.

• Refer ‘Mobile Port Parameters’ and ‘Mobile Network Selection’ forconfiguring the Mobile Port’s attributes.

• By default Mobile ports are assigned Trunk Feature Template number01.

21. BRI Port

• By default, the orientation type of the BRI port is Terminal.• To connect the BRI port with public network, orientation type of the

BRI port shall be Terminal.• By default, the BRI Switch variant for the BRI port is ‘ETSI NET 3’.

Know the BRI switch variant supported by public network. Refer ‘BRIParameters’, to change the attributes of the BRI Port.

• To connect the BRI port for private networking, orientation type canbe set as Network/Terminal depending on the private network

scenario. Select the BRI Switch Variant which is supported by boththe PBXs.

• To connect the ISDN Terminals with the BRI Port, orientation type ofBRI port shall be set as Network. Check the BRI Switch Variantsupported by the BRI port and the ISDN terminals; choose thecommon switch variants supported by them.

• Each BRI Port is assigned following templates in defaultconfiguration:• Trunk Feature Template-01• Station Basic Feature Template -01• Station Advance Feature Template -01

• The assigned templates can be changed or customised as required.

When BRI port is configured as Terminal, the Trunk Feature Templateassigned to it is of relevance.

When BRI port is configured as Network, the Station Basic FeatureTemplate and Station Advance Feature Template assigned to it is ofrelevance.

Refer ‘ISDN Terminal Parameters’ for configuration of ISDN Terminalinterfaced with the BRI Port.

22. E&M Trunk

• By default, E&M Port is assigned following templates in defaultconfiguration.• E&M Feature Template - 01• Trunk Feature Template - 01• Station Basic Feature Template - 01• Station Advance Feature Template - 01

• Refer, “E&M Parameters”, to assign different template to the E&MPort.

• By default Seizure Type for the E&M port is Immediate, refer E&MFeature Template to change the Seizure Type as required.

• By default Release Type for the E&M port is Status Change, referE&M Feature Template to change the Release Type as required.

• By default Orientation Type for the E&M port is Station, refer E&MFeature Template to change the Orientation Type as required.

• By default the Dial Type for the E&M port is Pulse, with Pulse DialRatio 10PPS 1:2, refer E&M Feature Template to change the DialType to Tone if required.

Station Advance Feature Template and Station Basic Feature Template isof significance when E&M Port orientation type is Station.

23. VoIP Ethernet Port

To make VoIP calls you must have,

• Broadband Internet Connection to make/receive calls through PublicInternet. If you wish to make calls within your network, you do notneed an Internet connection.

• A SIP Account with an Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP). Ifyou want to make peer-to-peer calls (i.e. calls made withoutintervention of SIP Server or Proxy Server) you do not need theservice of ITSP.

Configuring the VoIP Ethernet Port

• To configure VoIP Ethernet Port, refer “VoIP Ethernet PortParameters”.

• Know the Connection Type of the LAN from Administrator andconfigure the ‘Connection Type’ for the VoIP Ethernet Portaccordingly.• If Connection Type = Static

• The default connection type is set as Static for all the VoIPEthernet Ports.

• Default IP Address of the VoIP Ethernet Port is192.168.1.116, and Network Mask is 255.255.255.0, changethe IP address and Network Mask as per your LANAddressing scheme.

• Program the Router’s LAN interface IP Address as a‘Gateway IP Address’ for the VoIP Ethernet Port.

• Program the DNS Address/Domain Name as provided byyour Internet Service Provider.

• If Connection Type = DHCP• Change the Connection Type to DHCP.• The VoIP Ethernet Port IP Address, Network Mask and

Gateway Address will be provided by dynamically by theDHCP server on LAN. You have to set the DNS address only.

• If DHCP server provides DNS address, set the ‘DNSConnection Type’ to Auto

• If DHCP server does not provide DNS address, program theDNS server address/DNS Name as provided by your InternetService Provider.

• If Connection Type = PPPoE• Change the Connection Type to PPPoE.• The PPPoE server will automatically assign the VoIP

Ethernet Port IP Address, Network Mask and GatewayAddress.

• Program the PPPoE User name and Password as providedby the Internet Service Provider.

• If PPPoE server doesn’t provide the DNS address, programthe DNS Address/DNS Name as provided by your InternetService Provider.

• If DNS address is provided by the PPPoE server, set the‘DNS Connection Type’ to Auto.

24. SIP Trunk

• To configure SIP Trunk refer, ‘SIP Trunk Parameters’• Configure Proxy SIP Trunk as shown below:

• Assign the VoIP Port to be used for the SIP Trunk.• Enable the SIP Trunk.• Program the SIP ID, Registrar Server Address, Registrar

Server Port, Authentication ID, Authentication Password asprovided by your ITSP.

• If your ITSP uses Outbound Proxy, Enable the OutboundProxy for the SIP Trunk and also program the OutboundProxy Server Address and Port as provided by your ITSP.

25. VMS Card

• The Eternity automatically assigns un-used SLT software ports (i.e.SLT ports which are not assigned any hardware slot-port) as VMSport.

• The SLT software ports used by VMS card are automatically getsconfigured in Routing Group number 33.

• The Eternity automatically assigns Routing Group number 33 as VMSGroup.

• Default access code of VMS group is 3931, refer ‘Access Codes’ -VMS Group, to change default access code.

• To land incoming calls at VMS, program Routing Group 33 as TLG inthe trunk feature template assigned to the respective trunk.

• By default there is no Message Wait Notification for all stations.Message wait notification is part of Station Advance Feature template,hence refer Station Advance Feature Template assigned to the stationto set Message Wait Notification Type as required.

• VMS is also referred as ‘CadencePro’ in Eternity.

Configuring the VMS Card

Collect following information:• Decide to which extension numbers, mailbox has to be assigned.• If Ethernet port of CadencePro is going to be connected in the

network, consult LAN administrator and get the IP Address andSubnet mask to be assigned to the Candencepro.

How to reach the Home Page of Web Server of VMS?

• Connecting the VMS card with the computer

• Connect the Ethernet Port of the VMS Card to the Ethernet Port ofthe Computer using the RJ-45 cable provided with the card.

• The default IP Address of the VMS card is 192.168.1.131 and SubnetMask is 255.255.255.0.

• To access the web server of VMS card using computer, the VMSEthernet port and computer shall be in the same subnet.

• Follow below given steps to change the VMS Ethernet port IPAddress and Subnet Mask:

Step 1: Entering into the Programming mode

• Dial VMS Group access code (Default 3931) from any station• VMS will answer the call and greet with Welcome Message.• Dial *19-1234 (1234 is the default SE Password of VMS) during

the Welcome message.• VMS will greet with “Enter the Programming Command”.

Step 2: Assigning an IP Address

• Enter into the programming mode by following the step 1 i.e.“Entering into the Programming mode”.

• Dial the SE command 1501-IP Address-#*.• For example, if the IP address 192.168.1.182 is to be

programmed, the SE command shall be given as,1501-192168001182-#*.

• VMS card will restart once you enter this command.

Step 3: Assigning an Subnet Mask

• Enter into the programming mode by following the step 1. i.e“Entering into the Programming mode”.

• Dial the SE command 1502-Subnet Mask-#*.• For example, if the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 is to be

programmed, the SE command shall be given as, 1502-

255255255000-#*.• VMS will restart once you enter this command.

You may also connect the VMS card port in LAN of the organization. Butmake sure that the VMS card and the computer you are using to access itare in the same subnet.

Configuring the VMS using the Web Interface

Access the Webjeeves of the CadencePro• Open the Web browser/Internet Explorer.• Enter the IP address of the CadencePro Network Port in the URL field of

the Web browser/Internet Explorer and press Enter key.• The CadencePro will prompt for login as shown below:

• You can enter the User name of your choice. (Entering the user name isnot mandatory for login.)

• Enter the SE Password (default: 1234) in the ‘Password’ field.• Click on the ‘Login’ button.• On successful login, you will be taken to the Home Page.

• Now, you can configure the CadencePro using Web Jeeves.• The left most side displays the link for different web pages for configuring.• Click on the link and the respective webpage will get opened.• Make required changes and click on ‘Submit’ button given on the bottom

Configuring the Region Code:

• By default, Region Code = ‘India’.• To change the Region code, click on the link “System Parameters” and

refer Region Code options.• Select the Region code from the list and Submit the page.• Following parameters would be changed as per the Region code

programmed:• Operator code for Home Node• DST type• Welcome Messages for Port

Configuring the Date & Time Settings:• Click on the link “Date & Time Settings” and Date & Time Settings

webpage will open as given below:

Current Date & Time:• Program the Current Date and Current Time.• Current date & time is required in the system because certain

features like Time table, holidays, Greetings, etc. relates to date & time.

Time Table:• Program the start time and end time of working hours for weekdays in the

Time Table. Remaining time would be considered as Non-working hours.• Welcome messages are played according to the time table programmed.

For example:For Monday, Start time is programmed as 09:00 and End time isprogrammed as 18:00 for working hours.Thus, 00:00 to 08:59 and 18:00 to 23:59 would be considered as Non-working hours.

Holidays:• Program the date and month of holidays.• On holidays, time table would not be applicable and Welcome message is

played according to the holidays.

Configuring the Station Parameters:• Click on the link “Station Parameters” and Station Parameters webpage

will open as given below:

• Extension Number:• Program the Extension numbers of the PBX which are to be

• Mailbox Number:• By default, no Mailbox is assigned to any Station number.• Assign the Mailbox number (001-512) to the Station Number if

mailbox facility is to be given. Use 000 for not assigning amailbox number.

• Same mailbox number should not be assigned to two differentstation numbers.

• For changing the Mailbox related parameters, refer topic“Configuring the Mailbox Parameters”.

• Abbreviated Name:• By default, blank for all station number.• Assign abbreviated name if dial by name feature is to be used• Only 3 alphabets of the station user name can be programmed in

Abbreviated name and it should be enter in capital letters i.e forexample: program ‘RAK’ for Rakesh.

• Mode:• Mode for each station is used for transfer type.• Different Modes supported are Manual and Scheduled.• Program Manual mode for Station if Transfer type is to be kept

fixed through out the day.• Program Scheduled mode for Station if Transfer type is to be kept

different at different time of the day.• By default, Mode = Manual.

• If Scheduled Mode is programmed:• Program Start Time and Transfer Type for Time Zone 1 - Time

Zone 4 in Scheduled Mode.Start Time for Time Zone 1-Time Zone 4:• By default, Start Time = 00.00.• Start time of Time Zone 2 is the End time of Time Zone 1 and

so on. Thus, program the Start time accordingly.• Transfer Type for Time Zone 1-Time Zone 4:

• By default, Transfer Type = Wait for Answer• For different transfer types refer “Transfer Types”.

• Transfer Types:Different transfer type which can be set is as given below:• None - Directly transfers the caller to the mailbox if assigned.• Blind - Directly transfers the caller to the extension number

dialed by the caller without knowing the status of the extension i.ewhether it is busy or not.

• Wait for Ring - Transfers the caller to the extension numberdialed by the caller if the extension is ringing i.e ring is detectedby the CadencePro.

• Wait for Answer - Transfers the caller to the extension numberdialed by the caller only if it is answered.

• Screen - CadencePro asks the caller to record its name and therecorded name is played to the extension number dialed by thecaller if it answers. If extension user accepts the call it istransferred otherwise takes the caller to the home node.

Configuring the Mailbox Parameters:• Click on the link “Mailbox Parameters” and Mailbox Parameters webpage

will open as given below:

• Mailbox Size:• Default Mailbox size = 5 minutes for each mailbox. Maximum size

of mailbox can be of 999 minutes for each mailbox.• Change the Mailbox size for mailbox depending upon who is the

Station user.

• Maximum Message Length:• Default Maximum Message Length = 15 seconds for each

mailbox. Maximum message length can be of 999 seconds.• Change the Message length of the mailbox depending upon who

is the Station user.

• Ask Mailbox Password at Login:• Default = Yes.• You can also programmed it as ‘No’ i.e password will not be

asked from the station user while accessing the mailbox.

• Message Notification:• Default = No.• Program it as ‘Yes’ for the mailbox depending upon the station

user.

Checking the VMS installation• Dial the VMS group number (default 3931) form station. The call shall be

automatically answered by the VMS and you shall hear the voicemessage programmed in the VMS.

26. Disconnect tone Detection

• If you are using TRK and using DID (Auto Attendant) on the same,enable Disconnect Tone Detection and program Disconnect ToneCadence in TWT hardware Template assigned to TRK.

27. Change the SE password

• Once you finish installation, you are advised to change the SEpassword to prevent unauthorised access.

• Refer “Change Password” to change the SE password.
