He was the director of the radio programme “Muitas coisas poucas palavras, a arte de ensinar e aprender” (Many things, few words- the art of teaching and learning) which was hosted by Francisco Marques (Chico de Bonecos).He is also a researcher of ‘musical spoons’ around the world and the author of “Colherim”, a book that demonstrates how to play Brazilian rhythms using spoons as a percussive instrument.He is the author of “Brasil for Children” (book and CD with 30 songs), as well as “Historais que Cantam” (Singing Stories), which won a prize from the Department of Education of the Council of Sao Paulo. He is also co-author of nine further books “Brincadeiras e Brincadeirinhas Musicais Palavra Cantada” which have gained international recognition in the global Arts community for their innovative ideas.He is a member of the Brazilian children’s group, “Grupo TRIII”. In his work as a musician he has performed with the children’s music group “Palavra Cantada”, Chico Cesar, Antionio Nobrega and also the renowned body percussion ensemble, Barbatuques.Since 2001 he has been a teacher at the “Instituto Brincante” in Sao Paulo, as well as working in a wide range of other schools in this city.
Experience a meeting of worlds between children’s music and popular Brazilian culture.Songs, dances and rhythms from Brazilian fiestas reinvented for the classroom.
We will explore Brazilian percussion though games and using spoons as instruments, as well as learning dances and songs that tell stories.
The repertoire and material covered in this workshop has been developed over many years and will refer to three of his published works: - Book of Brazilian rhythms “Colherim”- Book of children’s songs “Brasil for Children”- CD of dances “Baile do Colherim”
Inspiration to create new forms of musical education will emerge in a fun way through Estêvão’s playful use of traditional and popu-lar material.
A Music graduate from the Faculty of Sao Paulo, Brasil. Researcher of folklore and popular culture in Brazil. Teacher in the International Orff Schulwerk Course in San Francisco. He has given workshops around the world including countries such as Turkey, Colombia, Uruguay, Holland, Italy, Thailand, Taiwan, Spain, Argentina and above all, Brazil.

COST General 90€Students*: 70€ Orff Spain Asociation members: 65€(*)In order to apply the student fee, you must be enrolled in a minimum of 40 ECTS in a type of studies related to the course content. You need to provide a certification of the course (copy of the registration).
EQUIPMENT It is recommended to assist with comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for movement. Participants are requested to attend, if possible, with their own instrument.
APPLICATION • Until March the 4th of 2016• Places are limited and will be filled in order of registration. Re-
gistration will be done via Internet by clicking on the link butlleta d’inscripció.
• After receiving the web application form, (butlleta d’inscripció), the organization will send via mail the confirmation of the place and the banking information in order to make the payment.
• The registration will be completed once received the payment re-ceipt (photocopy, scanned image) or the notification from the bank. The receipt has to be sent to [email protected].
• In case of cancellation of the reserved place, please contact the organization as soon as possible.
• If the organization does not receive a copy of the receipt before March 9th, the place will be transferred to another person in the waiting list.
