Program Description This practical, skills-based program is designed for individuals facing barriers, who are planning to enter into the workforce for the first time, return after an absence, or those changing careers. Using real life workplace simulation methods, you will complete this training confident, skilled, and eligible to work in a variety of business industries including tourism, food and beverage , hospitality, financial, and other customer service related positions. Employment placements upon completion in thriving, opportunity-rich businesses. This program can ladder into business related post-secondary training. What are Essential Skills? Essential Skills are the tools we use everyday in work, learning and life. We all possess them to varying degrees and they can easily be developed. The Essential Skills are Reading, Document Use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral Communication, Working With Others, Critical Thinking, Digital Technology, and Continuous Learning.
