SCHOOLS, CHURCHES, ANDCOMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS:The Lionman Foundation, Inc. will give away 30,000 free comic books, posters and trading cards in the months of April and May to children in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area as part of the Lionman “Knowledge is Power” Essay Contest!
Grand Master Eric O’Neal President/CEO of the LIONMAN Foundation is celebrating his partnerships with Disney’s Martial Arts Festival, the Masters Hall of Fame and Prime-Cut Productions.
Lionman “Knowledge Is Power” Essay ContestThe Legend of Lionman and the Seven Kurodos tells the timeless story of the �rst culturally diverse team of superheroes, that performs educational, heroic and moral deeds, both real and �ctional. This graphic novel will motivate children of all ages to stand strong, con�dent and successful by making good and appropriate choices.
This project was created to help promote reading comprehension skills. Each child will be graded on the level of creativity as well as grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Essays will be accepted from students in grades 2nd through 12th.
Word count for each essay will be:Grades 2nd-5th, 300 words. Grades 6th-8th, 700 words. Grades 9th-12th, 1500 words.
One grand prize winner will receive a trip to Disneyland in Anaheim California! Second place winners will receive $500 and third place will receive $250. The Grand Prize winner will also attend all Lionman events held at Disneyland including the Disney Martial Arts Festival �nal, the unveiling of The Lionman and the Seven Kurodos ~ Seven Young American Heroes and the Masters Hall of Fame banquet. On Sunday, the grand prize winner will participate in the opeing of Disneyland with Mickey Mouse, Minnie and the gang.
Grand Master O’Neal will also surprise 10 locations with a special visit where he will sign autographs and put on a demonstration!
Registration forms and essays will need to be turned in by May 21.
