Where there is a review process, it is often limited to within the originating organization.Similarly, there are no formal publishing procedures for such reports, except whereestablished locally.

Technical reports are today a major source of scientific and technical information. Theyare prepared for internal or wider distribution by many organizations, most of which lack the

extensive editing and printing facilities of commercial publishers.

Technical reports are often prepared for sponsors of research projects. Another casewhere a technical report may be produced is when more information is produced for anacademic paper than is acceptable or feasible to publish in a peer-reviewed publication;examples of this include in-depth experimental details, additional results, or the architectureof a computer model. Researchers may also publish work in early form as a technical reportto establish novelty, without having to wait for the often long production schedules of academic journals. WHAT (took place)

WHEN (did it take place)

WHERE (did it take place)

WHY (did it happen)

HOW (did it happen) ± only include this if there is space

3. The BODY of the News Report gives more details and provides more informationabout the WHY and HOW of the story.

4. The TAIL contains the less important information which is often omitted by thenewspaper editor if there is not enough space left in the newspaper.

The Importance of Technology in Business

Technology plays a vital role in business. Over the years businesses have becomedependent on technology so much so that if we were to take away that technology virtuallyall business operations around the globe would come to a grinding halt. Almost all

businesses and industries around the world are using computers ranging from the mostbasic to the most complex of operations.

Technology played a key role in the growth of commerce and trade around the world. It is true that we have been doing business since time immemorial, long before there werecomputers; starting from the simple concept of barter trade when the concept of a currencywas not yet introduced but trade and commerce was still slow up until the point when thecomputer revolution changed everything. Almost all businesses are dependent ontechnology on all levels from research and development, production and all the way to

delivery. Small to large scale enterprises depend on computers to help them with theirbusiness needs ranging from Point of Sales systems, information management systemscapable of handling all kinds of information such as employee profile, client profile, accounting and tracking, automation systems for use in large scale production of commodities, package sorting, assembly lines, all the way to marketing andcommunications. It doesn't end there, all these commodities also need to be transported by

sea, land, and air. Just to transport your commodities by land already requires the use of multiple systems to allow for fast, efficient and safe transportation of commodities.

Without this technology the idea of globalization wouldn't have become a reality. Now all enterprises have the potential to go international through the use of the internet. If your business has a website, that marketing tool will allow your business to reach clientsacross thousands of miles with just a click of a button. This would not be possible withoutthe internet. Technology allowed businesses to grow and expand in ways never thoughtpossible.

The role that technology plays for the business sector cannot be taken for granted. If we were to take away that technology trade and commerce around the world will come to a

standstill and the global economy would collapse. It is nearly impossible for one to conductbusiness without the aid of technology in one form or another. Almost every aspect of business is heavily influenced by technology. Technology has become very important that ithas become a huge industry itself from computer hardware manufacturing, to softwaredesign and development, and robotics. Technology has become a billion dollar industry for anumber of individuals.

The next time you browse a website to purchase or swipe a credit card to pay forsomething you just bought, try to imagine how that particular purchase would havehappened if it were to take place without the aid of modern technology. That could prove tobe a bit difficult to imagine. Without all the technology that we are enjoying now it would belike living in the 60's again. No computers, no cellular phones, no internet. That is howimportant technology is in business.

Technology in business is very important because it makes easy for the businesspeople to transact to others. It is more convenient to use because it uses lesser time thanbefore. It also helps to staff in facilitating the flow of business especially in the area of writing business correspondence and in making other forms of business relatedcommunication.

Effective Oral Communication in Business

also the business flow smoothly in the business world.

Oral communication in business provides a variety of benefits. First, oralcommunication is accompanied by nonverbal signifiers, which provides context that canenhance understanding in the communication process. Posture, facial expressions, andhabitual movements may provide clues as to individual¶s feelings about the ideas beingdiscussed.
