Shortage of Women on the Boards of Major European Countries

When people think of business, they usually think of businessmen rather than a businesswoman. However this is for the most part true, because only 11% percent of the business industry is made up of women in European countries. Some countries have lower such as Spain which has 4.1% and some countries have higher such as Denmark. The European Union is pushing for a more reasonable percentage by the end of 2015. They want to see women make it on to the boards of major Euopean countries. For centuries long men have dominated the business world from the lowest rank until the CEOs. Recently we have seen women be part of it but a lot of people (actually only men) have had issues with that. Women make up a small percentage and most of the time an average rank in the company. It has been very difficult for women to reach the top for many reasons. Such as for a man it is hard to take orders from anybody let stand alone a woman. They also face a difficulty of that they can be mothers who give birth and are always caring, loving, taking care of their baby and it is hard to see them serious or in other words a high end job in the business world there is no room for those characteristics of a mother. Even if a woman does not carry herself as a mother than people say that she is "acting like a man." Even though with all these difficulties, the future of women in the business world is bright. There will be that day where women and men have equal seats in the top positions of major companies and that this subject would be thought of out of the ordinary. This subject becomes less of an issue by the generation.
