Series of Workshops Next to its policy roundtables, the ESRT also offers a series of workshops on "How to do business with the EU". The workshops are organized by sectors and do not only involve concrete, high- value informaon by experts, evaluators and successful prac- oners but also exercises. The next workshop will take place on 22/23.4 in Brussels and is organised jointly with the Behörden- Spiegel. What’s next

Explaining Europe “Do we need a new sovereignty on the internet?” The event, co-

organised with the Alumni Association of the Konrad Adenauer

Foundation will be held at the University of Karlsruhe on 30 April

2015. EU Officials and experts from Germany will explain to a

non-technical business and academic audience the complexities

of cyber security issues.

Luncheon Debate on Smart Energies On the 24th of March 2015, the European Security Round Table

will organise a luncheon debate to discuss mobile autonomous

energy systems to be used in challenging context, such as disas-

European Cloud: Vision or Fiction

Recently at the e-SRT:

On the 27th of January, the e-SRT and AFCEA Eu-

rope ran a joint event in cooperation with DG

Connect on “Cloud 4 Europe”, a highly topical

theme that will affect all of us and will dominate

the IT-related public discussions and will so for

sure also influence the debates and decision mak-

ing processes of the European institutions over the

next years. The symposium kicks off with an ex-

citing discussion for a European cloud relying on a

robust European critical infrastructure for the pub-

lic environment: top-level politicians as well as

representatives from industry and government

hold a debate on current opportunities and pro-

vide the vision for the future.

Consisting in an opening session starring Director General Dr. Zoran Stančič

and 4 breakaway sessions, the Conference touched different aspects of

cloud computing: from the economic advantages and best practice exam-

ples to the coordination and regulation across-Europe to the development

of standards to security and privacy related-issues.
