Some of the points I took from our esg pages. Just add on and correct my English cos I knowthere is a lot of mistakes and im sorry for that. Im sorry too if the points are not relevant..

How will your group be organising the activities?

Our group will be doing showcase which will be held at Chancellor hall,UBD. Among the

activities that we going to do are :

(i)Display:

1.Sculpture - µtree of hope¶ paper mache tree from newspaper and used paper. People can writetheir pledges on the paper which is from used paper and shape like a leaf and hang it into the

trunk of tree of hope which later on become a tree full of pledges just like a real tree.

2.Poster/info display ± using manila card and used thing/materials to create a creative poster anddisplay it at CH during our showcase.

3.Video on how to make cool stuff from things we can re-use and upload it into the internet such

as youtube and facebook. Also video regarding earth day. Aims to educate people on how toseparate their household wastes for recycling and showing them the correct ways to recycle and

the important of earth day.

(ii)Hand print (as banner)+ face print(if the art students willing to help us)

(iii)Sales of our own and charity sales - Collect recyclable materials such as aluminium tins,bottles, etc and make them into recycled pen holders, or any creative things.The making of 

handmade paper bookmark from recycle products such as cardboard boxes and cereal boxes andthen sell it. We also will be working alongside with the Economics Club to hold a joint charity

sale to further boost awareness among the public.

(iv)Earth Day quiz and games

How are tasks assigned?

Several task are divided among the members of our group :

1) Public Relations - Arina & Mizah; they will be making the proposals and necessarydocuments to be given to PMUBD, the estate as well as to Dr. Azman.

2) Arts & Creativity ± Diyanah & Wanah; they will be in charge in making the µtree of hope¶,

as well as the decorations (if it is necessary) for the booths in CH. They will also be taking careof the booth whereby people (the public) make an art of green µhandprints¶ on a cloth.

3) Activities coordinators ± Kidah & Hamd, Will be in charge in the mini activities such asquizzes, making bookmarks/magazine holders out of recycled materials. Also try and contact the

ART students if they are willing to make mini sculptures or structures out of reusable materialsto be displayed or made that day.

4) Heads of logistics ± Nabeila & Hazimah; they will be in charge in buying necessary materialsDuring the event, they will also be in charge of volunteers (if there is any) and usher or assistpeople in the CH.

5) Media ± Khairi, Shahrul & Faithul; they will be making a video montage of how to recycle in

a proper way & maybe about earth day with the help of media crew in UBD.

6) Information on earthday ± Vernon, Sukerdi & Rafidi; they will be the ones who are in

charge in advertising and make posters about the event. They will also be providing informationabout earth day to be displayed on thebooths.

These are the assigned tasks, so far, for each of us. However, everyone should contribute to anytasks provided especially in making the µtree of hope¶ because it is an activity for all of us to do.

How will your activities be more effective?

Through research from internet ± we can get more ideas on how to run the activities more

smoothly. Also get the idea from there and create it on our own way. We also can search it onyoutube on how we can do to promote earth hour.

Exchanging ideas among the members. Every students should have their say and contribute some

ideas to make this activities more effective as more heads is better than one. Points should be

written in a piece of paper and the points that have made the most votes will be centered.

Promotion ± inviting the public to come and join us during the showcase. How?

1.  Through social network, facebook is ranking the highest amount of internet user in thecountry so we take this opportunity to invite the public by creating an event.

2.  We will also be contacting Pelangi FM to promote our event as most people in bruneilisten to it.

3.  We will also promote our event in Ranoadidas.com as people tend to view his blog for any news update

4.  Through word of mouth, it is the most successful form of advertising.

5. 

We will also be giving notice to each faculty on the notice board which will be updatedevery week since we are only able to put the notice for limited time to let the students beaware of the event.

Lastly teamwork among the members are really important to ensure the event is running

smoothly and successfully. Last minute preparation shouldn¶t be done as student should preparethe event earlier.

What do you expect to come out from these activities?

From these activities we will be hoping that more people will come and support us and aware of 

the objective of this event. People should also aware that some material can be recycle such aspapers,tin,bottle,etc For example, Brunei should also create a one day policy that is no plastic

bag should be used because it takes a longer time to decompose and harmful to animals.

We will also hope that people will throw rubbish in its respective places and keep the countryclean to avoid pollution. Open burning should not be done as well due to the o-zone layer is

getting thinner. Therefore hopefully after they come to our event,they will be aware of theobjectives of earth day.

What challenges do you anticipate in organising the group¶s activities?
