The game is away this weekend, and the weather looks to be a little questionable. So take the weekend to do a project or two. If you don’t have one for school or a hobby sitting around that you’ve been dreaming about getting back to, then this issue is for you. Gentlemen, there is a whole page of DIYs for you (pg. 6) and ladies, say goodbye to lost earrings and tangled necklaces (pg. 10). Maybe you aren’t the kind

Your tech, your way

Custom WallpapersYou may not be a design wizard, but you know what you want in a wallpaper. Whether it’s a picture of you and your best friends or your favorite sports star, you can use those images to create a cool, personalized background with apps such as Live Wallpaper Maker Pro (free) for Android, which lets you create animated wallpapers for your device with your videos, pictures or gifs. For iOS, Pimp Your Screen ($1.99) allows users to customize their background, create app shelves and has lock screen and home screen themes. If you want a more abstract piece for your desktop, check out Project330.com to create your own piece of art.

Custom Apps Why go through all the work to create the perfect wallpaper when the apps over it clash with your theme? The free Icon Changer app for Android and the free CocoPPa app for iOS will help you fi x that. The Icon Changer uses a picture or an image from an icon pack to change the app of your choosing. CocoPPa allows users to either download an app image from the community created designs or you can create your own. While the Icon Changer completely alters an app’s icon, CocoPPa will only create a shortcut for the app of your choosing.

Clear Cases Clear cases provide for a craftier avenue when customizing your tech. Make a collage, print a single picture or paint the interior of the case to add a personal touch to the plastic that is protecting your tech. To keep your paper artwork stable inside a case, brush the interior of the case with a matte Mod Podge and apply your art. Unlike Elmer’s, this glue won’t show, and it will fi rmly secure your artwork.

TapeWhether you need to fi x a wire your pet munched on or you want to add a little fl air to your cords, washi tape is a simple way to personalize your wires. Washi tape, originally from Japan, comes in a variety of colors, patterns and widths. It can also be purchased on Etsy for as low as $1 or by the foot starting at 50 cents. Although it’s not as pretty, duct tape also comes in a variety of patterns that will also look great on headphone wires and charger cables.

Screen Protectors Cheap, though not the easiest to apply, screen protectors provide ample space for customization. Stickers and fi ne-tipped permanent markers will be your main tools for decoration, but any little stone or stud also can be applied to the screen protector with a dab of super glue.

Dust PlugsDust plugs are the cellphone charm alternative, but since they plug right into your headphone jack, they can decorate almost any device. Mushrooms, kittens, skulls, Starbucks Frappuccino – you name it and you can probably fi nd its dust plug. Though they are cheaper on Amazon and Etsy, dust plugs can also be found at Urban Outfi tters and other retailers.

A premade wallpaper and a generic case can’t always represent your unique style. With these simple

I think my significant other is mad at me, but I don’t

know what I did wrong. How can I fix it? Well, maybe you didn’t do anything. Maybe you’re freaking out about nothing. Your honey is probably just stressed out and isn’t interested in the shoes you bought today or what Becky cryptically said about you on Facebook. Give him or her some breathing room for a while. Maybe once that midterm is finished and the weekend rolls around, everything will go back to normal. If not, then your relationship is doomed...just kidding. It might also be a good idea to ask what’s going on. I can tell you stuff like this all day, but talking to me isn’t going to clear the air. I mean, if you really did do something wrong, you might want to figure all that out sooner rather than later. Just don’t be annoying about it. Use your big kid voice.

I think my significant other is mad at me, but I don’t

know what I did wrong. How can I fix it?

Well, try blowing in his or her ear. If there isn’t noticeable excitement from multiple regions, then yeah, they’re pretty pissed at you, and this is going to take some work. It’s time to get creative. Let’s be quick about this: load iTunes and find something sexy (e.g., Cher). Next; run to your closet and find something sexy (for guys, those tight briefs that show off your gingerbread man. For girls, that bra that gives you that va-va-voom). After you’ve pushed the girls up or brought the little one out to play, give that butt a little pop. Go ahead. Twerk it. Get the jiggle going. If anything, this will break the ice. After you’ve completely exhausted the gluteus maximus, it’s time to bring out the big guns. This is where you get back to that creative thing we talked about.

I think my significant other is mad at me, but I don’t

know what I did wrong. How can I fix it?

There’s an 80 percent chance you didn’t do anything, but you’ll always be wrong. Women are fickle and hormonal. Plus, they love the drama. It’s all those damned movies and reality TV shows they watch.

It’s your own damn fault for getting tied down, really. I know, I know, you’re madly in love, and she’s not like all the others. Here’s some real talk: turn them all upside-down and they look the same. A sheep with eyeglasses is still a sheep.

Just say you’re sorry, buy some cheap flowers and go out drinking with the guys. Because God knows they’re all in the same doghouse.

Get drunk and forget about her. If she wants to be mad at you, then there are a gaggle of ladies at the bar who want you to make them very happy. Go get ʼem, tiger!

While men usually don’t like to consider themselves crafty, you guys are the kings of do-it-yourself projects. Sewing, cooking and fashion are usually left to the women, but there is no shame in knowing how to do a few of these things. It actually most likely will attract a lovely lady — we tend to love guys who can cook. And believe me, there is nothing better than a guy who knows how to dress himself. So put down that package of ramen and go change your shoes. Here are some tips to do a few of these things all by yourself. No need to call Mom.

Bow ties, yikes The bow tie has become very fashionable in the last few years. If you are willing to test out one of the new trends, go for it. However, tying one can be harder than escaping one of Houdini’s knots. Here is a quick run-through on how to tie that sucker right the first time.

Heat things upHere’s a spicy Southern twist to spaghetti. It is super simple, tastes great and makes you look like you have a lot more skills than you really do. There really isn’t anything better than that.

ingredients: • Spaghetti• Ground beef • Two cans of chopped tomatoes (try the kind with green chiles in them) • Garlic, chopped • Packet of chili seasoning (go for the spicy kind!)

Step one: Brown the meat in a skillet. Drain off most of the fat. Don’t put the fat down the drain!

Step two: Start boiling a pot of water. Add plenty of salt (and olive oil if you have it).

Step three: Put the browned meat into a small pot and add the cans of tomatoes, the garlic and the chili seasoning and mix it all togehter. Turn the stove to medium so that the mixture simmers.

Step Four: When the water boils, add the spaghetti and cook until it’s soft.

Step Four: Put the spaghetti onto a plate. The chili should be hot by now, so spoon some over the top. Ta-da! Dinner is served.

*Pair with a salad and maybe some garlic bread if you are really trying to show off.

button troubles While you may be a pro around power tools, a needle and thread might panic you. Don’t let your favorite pair of pants with the missing button sit unworn. Fix them up, and watch the ladies swoon.

Materials: • Needle • Thread (make sure it’s a similar color to the fabric) • The buttonless piece of clothing

Step one: Cut a 12” piece of thread and put one end through the needle. Match up both ends and tie a knot.

Step two: Put the needle through the back part of the fabric where the button needs to go. The knot needs to be on the inside of the garment.

Step three: Put the needle through one hole of the button. Lay it flat on the fabric and push the needle through the hole diagonal to the first hole. Repeat three times.

Step Four: Put the needle through one of the holes that hasn’t been sewn yet. Push the needle through the hole diagonal from this hole. Repeat three times.

Loop the bow tie around your neck and underneath your collar.

Cross the two ends, then loop one under the other. (Kind of like the first step when tying your shoes.)

With one end, make the bow shape and pinch in place. Lay the other end on top vertically, creating the loop to pull the rest through.

Pull the rest of the layers through the loop and pull tight. Don’t forget to straighten — there is nothing worse than a crooked bow tie.

Calling all lovers of fall: This is the DIY for you! While the temperatures are coming down, nothing is cozier than a pumpkin spice latte while you’re studying for midterms. This ultimate fall drink recipe is accompanied by my favorite craft, a personalized mug, which is perfect for making cute seasonal trinkets and even makes a great last-minute gift.

For your super cute homemade mug to drink your pumpkin spice latte from, all you’ll need is a plain white mug (I got a cheap one from Big Lots) and permanent markers. Paint pens also can be used for more vibrant colors. Just make sure the mug has been cleaned before drawing. Write a cute phrase or draw on a design. Then, you just put your newly designed mug into a 350 F oven for 30 minutes. Let cool, and enjoy your new one-of-a-kind mug!

Tips:• On my personal mug, I found after I baked it, the colors appeared lighter. So, I went over the colors and baked it again!

• The recipe says the mugs are dishwasher safe, but I always handwash mine to be cautious.

•You can spray an acrylic coat over the top to secure the color of your mug just a little more! (Acrylic coat easily found at Walmart or Hobby Lobby.)

And there you have it! Now all you need is a blanket and a well-made midterm study guide to enjoy this fall. Enjoy.

Drink Up:

Upon searching for the best pumpkin spice latte recipe, I picked this one because it allows you to pick how much sugar you want in your latte and also has instructions for those using strongly brewed coffee instead of espresso (because I certainly do not have an espresso machine in my apartment).

Ingredients: • 2 cups milk

• 2 tablespoons canned pumpkin or 1 teaspoon of Torani brand Pumpkin Spice Syrup (you can buy a large bottle on Amazon.com for a little over $15)

• 1 or 2 tablespoons sugar or sugar substitute

• 2 tablespoons vanilla extract

• 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

• About 1/4 cup of espresso or 1/2 cup of strongly brewed coffee

• Whipped cream

Instructions: In a saucepan whisk together milk, pumpkin and sugar and cook on medium heat, stirring until steaming. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and spice, transfer to a blender and process for 15 seconds until foamy. If you don’t have a blender, don’t worry about it — just whisk the mixture really well with a wire whisk. Pour into a large mug or two mugs. Add the espresso (or coffee) on top. Top with whipped cream, if desired, and sprinkle pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg or cinnamon on top.

funstitch in time saves nine, or so the old saying goes. But according to costume designer Kris Ocker, that stitch also can save you the embarrassment of wearing the

same outfi t as someone else. Ocker, a former accountant, is the chief

costume designer for Sooner Theatre and owns Queen Of Hart’s Costumes and Dancewear on 24th Avenue SW in Norman. She said she began making her own costumes after her three children were born.

“I just wasn’t happy with what you could buy in the stores,” Ocker said. “I thought it was too thin. I thought it just wasn’t worth the money, so I started making their Halloween costumes. That’s really how it started.”

Ocker said she generally prefers homemade costumes to store-bought ones.

“They’re unique, they’re better built,

and it’s fun to put together,” she said. “I guess not everybody likes that, but nobody else is going to have [your costume]. It’s kind of like going to that party where you go, and two other girls have the exact same dress that they got. You don’t want to be in the same dress or outfi t as other people. Do-it-yourself is just more interesting than what you can buy.”

The unpredictable Oklahoma weather is another good reason to pursue do-it-yourself costumes, she said.

“It was cold on Halloween [when my children were younger],” Ocker said. “I had just bought a house, and I fi nally had trick-or-treaters, and you couldn’t see their costumes because they had to wear coats. That always bothered me.”

Not being gifted at other DIY activities doesn’t mean you can’t put together a costume, she said.

“I’m willing to try anything,” Ocker said. “I don’t do a lot of crafty stuff. I still don’t have my kids’ photo albums pulled together. I used to knit a long time ago. [Building costumes is] really just all about the fabric.”

Even if you have no experience with sewing or design, you can put together a

costume, Ocker said.“I don’t really sew things,” she said.

“I just make costumes. I didn’t make my kids’ clothes; I don’t make my clothes, but I like sewing costumes. It’s trial and error, trying something. And when you are doing it yourself, you have to think, are you building it from scratch, or are you just taking different pieces and adding it together?”

Queen of Hart’s saleswoman Emily Ferren said creative costumes can be built without sewing.

“I’m not as profi cient as Kris is [at sewing],” she said. “I help customers put together costumes from what we already have in stock. Some of my favorites really are the pirates. Men will come in, and they might not be sure about the costume at fi rst, but then they get really into it, and say, ‘Oh, I could layer this!’ and they get really excited about it. It doesn’t have to match. You can put together whatever you feel like taking.”

Ocker and Ferren agreed there is no one-size-fi ts-all method to creating your own costume.

“Everyone has their own process of how to get to that end result,” Ocker said. “It

really depends on what you want to be. Is it a robot that you’re going make out of cardboard, or is it going to be a gypsy that you’re just going to go fi nd the fabric at Hancock’s or JoAnn’s?”

“You also have to take into consideration how much money and how much time you are willing to put into it,” Ferren said. “If you’re going to be sewing, it’s going to take probably a big amount of time. You might have to buy a pattern, buy the fabric, buy everything else.”

Above everything, Ocker said do-it-yourselfers should focus on creativity and that inspiration is everywhere.

“The one thing I’d say is don’t get boxed in by what’s in your head,” she said. “Allow yourself to listen to the fabric, listen to whatever you’re using. Let it be a journey to get to that end product. Go to the thrift stores, Google stuff. I get a lot of inspiration on Pinterest, or I just Google what I want and pull up the images. Find a look you like, and try to fi nd a way to recreate it. If you want to build your own costume, there’s just a thousand ways to do it.”

Tired of tangling up your necklaces and hairbands? Or scanning drawers full of sunglasses to find the perfect pair to match your color-coordinated wardrobe? Or searching for studs in your cluttered jewelry box? Then this is the DIY project for you.

Make Space10

Materials:• One wooden picture frame built to hold an 8” x 10” photo

• One 8” x 10” picture or piece of scrapbook paper

• 12 small screw-in hooks

• a drill or really strong fingers

• lacey fabric with small holes

• burlap fabric with a loose weave

• a nail and hammer or adhesive hooks

Steps:1. Remove both the photo frame backing and glass.

2. Lay strips of lace fabric across the back of the frame (horizontally, vertically or diagonally, according to your preference). You’ll want to cut your strips long enough to leave extra material hanging over the back/sides of the frame.

3. Place the photo frame glass on top of the lace.

4. Insert your 8” x 10” photo on top of the glass while pulling the ends of the lace toward you again. Keep the lace ends out on top of the photo.

Personalized beer crate storageNeed a way to stake your claim on your alcohol and keep your stash separate from your roommates’? Either hide your alcohol in your room or personalize a beer crate.

1. Buy a crate of beer or strike a deal with your local liquor store to get your hands on the crate alone. (Who are we kidding? Who would want the crate and no beer?)

2. Hit your local craft store or Walmart to grab two cans of paint, paintbrushes (large ones for the crate, medium or small ones for the details) and stencils. Or freehand it.

3. Cover the crate in the dominant color of paint. Apply at least two coats.

4. Come up with a clever phrase to make it known that the crate of alcohol is yours and yours alone, or simply write your name all over it.

5. Use the stencil or freehand the words, using your second color of paint and the small-to-medium-sized brush.

6. Fill with your favorite bottles of alcohol.

Fridge organizationFrustrated when you’re forced to reach past gallons of milk to find your hidden leftovers or bottle of ketchup? We’ve got you covered.

1. Buy a Lazy Susan. Simply put, it’s a giant rotating wooden plate. You can find a cheap one at Bed Bath and Beyond.

2. Be sanitary, and wash it off.

3. Take your food out of the fridge for five minutes.

4. Put the lazy susan on the bottom shelf.

5. Place food on top of the Lazy Susan. Now, you can simply turn the Lazy Susan — because it rotates — to get to the food on the back.

Tegan Burkhard I words

Heather Brown I Photo

Dorm rooms and Norman apartments aren’t known for their spacious rooms and abundance of storage space. So grab a few supplies and really maximize the space you have.

Jewelry Frame5. Replace the photo frame backing while tugging the ends of the lace toward you. The ends of the lace will stick out over of the back of the frame, keeping it in place when you start adding jewelry.

6. From the front, you’ll see the lace on top of the glass. The photo will be wedged between the glass and frame backing. The ends of the lace will be sticking up and out from the backing.

7. Take a ruler and measure out where you will place your screw-in hooks at the bottom of the frame. I set my 12 hooks an inch apart horizontally, placing the first and last hook an inch from the frame’s right and left edges. Screw in the hooks.

8. Take the burlap fabric and cut two pieces long enough to fit your headbands and sunglasses. I personally didn’t use a ruler for this part. Instead, I guesstimated the fabric length.

9. Gently pull apart two vertical threads in the burlap fabric toward the bottom of the strip, creating a hole just wide enough to fit the widest part of the headband (or pair of sunglasses). Pull your sunglasses or headband through the hole. Continue placing them through the burlap. Just guess the spacing.

10. Hang the top end of one burlap fabric strip on the two right-most hooks.

11. Hang the entire organizer on the wall in a bathroom or bedroom.

Rhinestones … Mod Podge … Glitter … you know you’re a sorority girl when all of these items can be found in your room along with almost every color of acrylic paint. When it comes to big/little, initiation or even if you’re just bored and have entirely too much time on your hands, crafting is totally necessary. Initiation is just another excuse to paint your little (or new grand little) a cute little canvas reminding them how much you love them or to “keep calm & [fill in the blank.]” Initiation crafts are nothing in comparison to the crafts that littles are showered with on big/little day. Let’s be honest: Big/little is similar to Christmas at any sorority house. The weeks leading up to big/little are chaos in the sorority house. The floors of rooms are covered with glitter and tulle as the bigs get everything ready for the big day. Stores such as Hobby Lobby and Michael’s are constantly packed with girls walking up and down the aisles grabbing different items to make family trees, canvases and letters. And sometimes it’s common to even drive up to the Hobby

Lobby in Moore because we all know the Main Street location is always out of whatever you need. Seriously though, when it comes to big/little, there is no limit to how far you can go. But if you can’t craft (or don’t have enough time, like us), you still have to supply some sort of handmade gift. We hate to break it

to you, but making, painting or crafting something is a necessity. Like we said earlier, you simply can’t get around it. If you are not the crafty type, don’t be embarrassed if you pay a friend to make something for you! It’s perfectly normal, and no, you are not alone in being uncreative. Pinterest is also a great place to

find cute, new ideas and they usually come with instructions! It’s pretty helpful at times. Also, stencils are a great tool as well as stickers if you don’t have handwriting worthy of being displayed on a canvas in your little’s dorm room. The main thing here is to try—or to dish out some money so someone else will make it for you. After all, it’s just the thought that counts … and how much glitter you used.

Bleach ItBleaching is the easiest and most fun way to liven up an old piece of clothing. Bleach is cheap, fairly simple to use and effective. Take an old pair of jeans or a shirt, as long as they are not synthetic fibers, and have a go at it. Throw the item on a clothes hanger and hang it up in your bathtub or shower. You can use a spray bottle, or just chuck cups of bleach on it. If you want to get a little more creative, use a paint brush to paint stripes or designs in it. Let the bleach sit until you’re satisfied with the color, but be careful not to let it sit too long or it will damage the fabric. Rinse thoroughly and wash before wearing.

Fixing up your wardrobe doesn’t have to cost a ton, and you don’t even have to buy anything. Put your DIY skills to the test with these tips for freshening up your closet while keeping spending to a minimum. And remember—it’s always good to practice on an item you don’t care about in case any mistakes happen.

Mix It UpIf you’re anything like me, you probably have the habit of pairing the same items into the same outfits over and over again. After cleaning out your closet, you know what your options are a little better. And if you’re avoiding the reality that is school work, mixing and matching new outfits is a great way to keep your mind off of the stress. Take photos on your phone of any outfits that you particularly like, that way you can go back and have a whole reference of ideas when you’re stuck in a style rut.

Clean ItClean it all out! Take a weekend day to go through your closet and clean it out. Also clean out your drawers, storage and coat closet, or anywhere you store clothes. Most of the time you’ll stumble across cute things you forgot you even had that are just begging to be worked back into your everyday wear. Get rid of anything that doesn’t fit or that you no longer like and either donate them or swap with friends. Now you have a better idea of what your wardrobe is lacking, and some extra space for new items. Keep in mind that you might be able to fix up anything that you still like, but don’t know how to wear using the rest of this list.

Shop CheapNow that winter is coming, you should be able to find a bunch of cute summer clothes on sale. Stocking up in the off-season is a great way to get clothes for cheap, especially basics that won’t be out of style by next year. Or check out any of Norman’s several thrift stores for items you wouldn’t want to pay full price for. Thrift stores are the perfect places to find items with potential, too. Look for things that can be easily dyed and altered. This way you can make something completely unique on a tight budget. Just make sure to wash anything you find before wearing!

Go to OUDaily.com/ESCAPE for a list of shops in the area.

Trade ItHost a swap with several of your friends to trade items that you may not like to wear anymore, or anything that doesn’t fit. Everyone benefits from cleaning out unwanted clothes and getting new items for free by trading. You can also trade accessories or shoes with friends. Just make sure to wash everything before giving it away!

Sew ItThis one requires a little more skill than any other option in this guide, but simple sewing isn’t too hard to master. But once you’ve figured out how to sew a simple line, you can fix up a whole array of clothing. Sew up the sides of loose-fitting jeans to make a pair of skinny jeans, or do the same with a loose-fitting shirt. You can even sew details onto pretty much anything with a simple needle and thread. This can be anything from cute patches from a craft store to zippers or interesting buttons. And having these supplies on hand is great for any time something gets torn and is easily fixable. That way you can keep clothes for years with the ability to fix them quickly. Pair this with dyeing, bleaching and cutting, and you can practically perform miracles on tired old clothing.

Dye ItDon’t be afraid of the dye. This one takes a little more time and effort than simple bleaching, but it can be worth it in the end. RIT dye has been the best, and cheapest, in my experience. And it can be found in stores all over Norman from Hobby Lobby to Wal-Mart to Hancock Fabrics. You can also use dye on top of previously bleached items for a brighter color. Similar to the bleaching option, you can do this to T-shirts, jeans or button-ups. Try splattering, stripes or simple designs with a paintbrush. Mix the dye according to the directions in the box. RIT also has several tips on their website for a better dye experience. A few important things to remember: use HOT water for mixing, a teaspoon of laundry detergent helps the dye penetrate the fabric, and don’t forget to add salt for more intense coloring! After dyeing and allowing the fabric to sit in the solution, rinse it well, then allow to air dry. After drying, wash with towels or black clothes to avoid transfer of dye in the washer.

“The Fifth Estate ” Benedict Cumberbatch (the actor with

the most British name in existence) stars as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange as the film traces the early days of the site. Since I’m pretty sure the film’s climax is the release of several controversial and history changing information leaks, I don’t think this is a film for action junkies. However, if you want a topical political biopic and already have a good familiarity with the source material, you may enjoy it.

The Grumpycouch Potato

“Carrie”A remake of

Stephen King’s classic horror film about a bullied girl who gets the choicest revenge, this movie will have unpopular high schoolers across the country trying to develop psychic powers. Chloë Grace Moretz stars as the titular character, and she’s yet to disappoint. Julianne Moore is her deeply religious mother who is creepy as all get-out, especially since Moore already looks like a witch. You’ve all seen the trailer; I just hope it doesn’t give away the whole film.

“Hart of Dixie”Rachel Bilson is back to her old antics

as Zoe Hart in the charming town of Bluebell. The doctor went away for the summer, breaking hearts when she left, but not even New York City could keep her away from her new home.

Back in town with a suitcase full of shorts

and a new beau, Dr. Hart will surely be

stirring up trouble and then trying to fix it in some zany way.

The big question on viewer’s minds is whether or not she

will ever end up with George Tucker. From

the looks of the season premiere, it isn’t likely. 7 p.m. Monday on the CW

Katy Perry, “Prism” KP is releasing her fourth album next week. With a

number of hits already under her belt, “Prism” is likely to add a few more to the growing list.

The first track on the CD, “Roar,” has become

an instant radio sensation. Really, it’s on all the time,

but no complaints here. It’s a catchy tune. And it kicked off a

school spirit contest on Good Morning America.

Other singles on the album include “Walking On Air” and “Dark Horse.” If you’re a huge Perry fan, then look for the deluxe version of the album, boasting 16 songs instead of a measly 13.

Thank goodness there isn’t a football game this weekend. There won’t be any traffic on Interstate 35, which means going to the movies will be a breeze. Check the ticket stubs on Monday, this couch potato will be there a total of three — count ‘em, three — times. And yes, I will be ordering popcorn and a drink each and every time. No shame.

“Escape Plan” Action hero grandpas Sylvester Stallone and

Arnold Schwarzenegger break out of a secret maximum security prison after being wrongfully imprisoned. Need I say more? This is going to be the most testosterone-laden, silly, inevitably enjoyable film of the month. The Expendables was too tame for you? Not enough machismo? Try “Escape Plan.”

Sir Paul Speaks

In a month where every celebrity is trying to hold onto whatever relevance they possible can by commenting on Miley Cyrus, only one person’s opinion really matters: Sir Paul McCartney. And it was brilliant, as expected: “Someone said to me that the world that a lot of those people like Miley live in is all noise, and they’ve got to get above the noise. So they have to do something.”

Ultimate Crossover

Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe will be starring in a recently released video game together, “Beyond: Two Souls,” which can only be described as mezmerizing. It

looks like a freakishly realistic blend of film and game. And how

can anyone go wrong with these two amazing stars?

Bargain Banksy

The infamous graffiti artist Banksy set up shop in Central Park, selling off works for a mere $60 to passers-by with an untrained eye for his art. I’m severely disliking this occurence out of sheer jealously.

Macaulay Sighting

Macaulay Culkin, “Home Alone” star, was reportedly seen at New York Comic

Con with co-star Seth Green looking healthy and no longer like he’s strung out. Oh, sweet angelic Party Monster, I can’t even tell anymore if

I love you ironically or seriously. Here’s to just being happy you’re well.

Each issue, we take a look back at the pop culture moments that made us gasp, cry and scream.

Here’s how this works: The closer something is to that little blue dot to the right of this paragraph, the more we liked it. The farther away, the more it sucked.

“The Fifth

Estate”

While the Oct. 18 release date of the Julian Assange-inspired film is exciting, Benedict Cumberbatch’s face still gives me nightmares. Hopefully, he can manage to pull off a good and honest portrayal of this WikiLeaks project and founder.
