Hook-upLikewise the Datasheet module, ESApro Hook-up allows to link the installation detail drawing to each instrument of the P&I diagram and to generate the related material list.Either in the P&ID environment or in the project database, the user only has to click the instrument and then select the related installation detail drawing. The component database, the hook-up library and the list templates are fully customizable.

DatasheetThis ESApro module is made for the creation and management of datasheet related to instrumentation, components and equipment. For this purpose the program is equipped with a library of datasheet templates in Excel format in agreement with ISA standard. The program works on the project database pre-fed by ESApro P&ID. It allows to link a datasheet picked up from the template library to the record of an instrument, a component or an equipment.The content of the data fields of the record (tag, service, line number etc.) automatically flows into the corresponding datasheet cells. Further operations of integration or modifications to the datasheet update the database in real time. Thanks to this synchronization mechanism the datasheets maintain a bidirectional link to the P&I diagram.Users may customize their own library creating datasheet templates in the usual Excel environment, then a driven procedure allows to make the link between the database fields and the datasheet cells.

Shared project databaseOnce a new P&ID is filed into a project, or afterwards when submitted to revision, the project database is fed with data of lines, instrument, components and equipment. Datasheet and Hook-up modules work on this database pre-fed by the P&ID, as described below.

Automatic list generationThe program generates lists (lines, components, instrumentation, equipment) for a single drawing or for the whole project. A sophisticated tool for the definition of data filtering criteria allows the creation of customized list templates of whatsoever complexity. Lists, besides being available on the drawings under the form of tables, may be redirected to ASCII, Excel and Access files for further processing.

User customizable environmentUsers can customize the symbol library and material lists as well as the whole graphic environment: title blocks, colors of lines and components, layers and text styles.

Centralized project data baseESApro Process & Instrumentation is made of various applications, P&ID, Datasheet and Hook-up, that feed, in concurrent mode the centralized project database. A supervisor system controls this process in such a way that data originated by an application are immediately aligned and available for all the other ones.The environment is equipped with a series of procedures dedicated to data base management, to specifications generation, to the maintenance of libraries of components, datasheets and hook-ups.All suitable tools which guarantee data security and integrity are available together with those required for configurating users and groups access rights.The system open architecture ensures full possibility of integration with company ERPs.

P&ID

Piping spec driven operationEsapro P&ID supervises the P&I diagram development through the piping spec. Once set ND and class, the user is constantly controlled and driven into the line construction and component insertion.

The consistency of components with line class is ensured at any timeComponents automatically undertake characteristics data from the line and piping class once inserted in the line itselfThe program includes functions which checks the connections of the various line segments one to an other and to the equipment and also deduces the From – Tos. The line copying operation is managed by the program itself in order to avoid errors or data inconsistency.

Piping Specs may be freely created in the P&ID environment. Or alternatively ESApro Plant Design Piping Specs can be shared.

User customizable graphic libraryThe program is equipped with a wide library of valves, line components, equipment and instruments in compliance with DIN/ISA/UNI standards.An easy, guided procedure allows the user to insert

his own symbols into the library provided that they are available in DWG format. Powerful graphic functionsThe graphic functions allows to dramatically reduce the drawing time, minimize mistakes and guarantee drawing accuracy.

Components automatically orientate and position themselves on the line and then cut itWith one simple click an existing valve may quickly be removed and the gap closed or substituted with a different type of valve.Setting of scale factor is provided to fit the components and equipment dimension to aesthetics or clearness needs. Just a single command allows to change the line data (class, ND etc.) with consequent automatic and spec controlled update of all its components.Data related to each component may be examined and changed at any time. All tags are automatically updated as a consequence of modifications of line data, class or tagging format.

Thanks to the above characteristics it is very easy to develop preliminary diagrams using generic piping specs and components and in a subsequent phase specify them: everything will be automatically updated. A series of utilities show the list of tags already used, highlight a given line or a component or an instrument loop on the drawing and allows to check out for possible duplicated tags.Furthermore ESApro P&ID manages and controls the development of multi-sheet diagrams within a work group.
