1 PurposeThe S04 module is a power supply which converts the line voltage of120 V230 V 6050 Hz to the DC output voltage with a nominal value of24 V
It simultaneously ensures a non-outage switching to the battery-powered standby operation or possibly to the accumulator modulepermanent charging
At the S04 module installation the manufacturer recommends theapplication of a current pre-protection of 10 A divide 13 A with the motorcharacteristic of C or D type at the customer

3 Brief Technical DescriptionThe mains voltage of 230 V 50 Hz is led to the S04 module via a connector2 Following overvoltage protection FV1 ndash Plk8 (type 3 manufactured byHakel) is of 840 V500 V protective level and is provided with the RFI filter
with a minimum attenuation of 40 dB in the range of 015 divide 30 MHzProtected voltage enters the GS1 ndash KS400A-230WS27 5-SCP switch modesupply via an overcurrent protection by the FA1 (10 A) circuit breaker with themotor trip characteristic (of the C type) The circuit breaker may be used forthe power supply turning out
The power supply output voltage is matched to the accumulators charging itsrated value equals 275 V Together with connected A01 battery module itcreates a system of reserved supply with the operating voltagerange of 20 divide 28 V To make the text clearer the rated value of 24 V is usedThe power supply unit is designed for the 160 W output with the restriction
according to the operating temperature range see Figure 2-1 A lineappliance with maximum consumption of 200 W can be connected to theoutlet 1
The GS1 power supply output voltage is led via an RF noise-suppressingfilter to the GS2 controlled accumulator charging card its type labeling of themanufacturer is UZM2 The card main purpose consists in the limitation ofthe accumulators charging current Rated charging current is set to 2 A bythe manufacturer
The card simultaneously enables the diagnostic signal generation in case ofthe mains voltage failure This signal is associated with the discharge signal
or the accumulator disconnection signal on the cardThe accumulator discharge signal is generated at the 21 V plusmn 05 Vaccumulator voltage It is led to the output connector pins 3 and LEDindicator HL3 (DIAG)
If the accumulators voltage equals 20 V plusmn 05 V they shall be disconnectedby the card electronics from the power supply system
Such treated output voltage of 24 V is led via a ZB1 noise-suppressing filterand then branched in six directions with the help of three 8-pin connectors3 divide 5 Each direction is separately protected against overload and shortcircuit by means of a reversible overcurrent protection
Connector 6 is designed for the module connection to the reserveaccumulators Its eight pins enable direct serial-parallel connection of twoaccumulators in the station basic assembly or four accumulators at thereserve extended back-up period
The FA2 circuit breaker serves for the accumulatorsrsquo disconnection andsimultaneously protects them against a short circuit at the S04 moduleoutput

7 List of Indicators
Label Type Description
IN ACV Green LED Lighting diode indicates a presence of 120 V230 V voltage
24 V Green LED Lighting diode indicates a presence of 24 V from the mainsor accumulator
DIAG Green LEDLighting diode indicates generation of the signal ldquopowersupply in orderrdquo No failure of the mains voltage oraccumulator detected
SURGE(on FV1)
Green LEDSlightly glowing diode indicates ldquoovervoltage protection inorderrdquo
8 Indication and Localization of Error ConditionsIf the LEDs are extinguished
Label Type Description
IN ACV HL1The FA1 circuit breaker may be switched off or the voltageof 120 V230 V absent
24 V HL2The voltage of 24 V neither from the power supply nor fromthe battery absent
DIAG HL3
A common power supply failure indicated The failure canexist in the supply of 120 V230 V voltages or in the powersupply The same state of signaling can appear due to thelow or zero level of the battery voltage or at the batterycircuit breaker (FA2) switching off
SURGE(on FV1)
SURGEA common FV1 overvoltage protection failure appeared orthe voltage of 120 V230 V is absent
9 List of Setup and Control ElementsThere are two circuit breakers on the front side of the S04 module which canbe used for the power supply switching off They are covered with lidslabeled FA1 and FA2 and provided with an illustration of the switching onoffmethod As soon as four screws are taken away and the lid removed we canswitch off the 120 V230 V supply voltage by means of the FA1 pull-buttonThe FA2 controller can be used for disconnecting batteries
