and establishing synergistic and long-lasting

Ability to establish long-term partnerships with
customers is one of the ERXA's key success factors,
that allows the company to offer high effective and
personalized software solutions.
History
• in ’88-‘90 with Prima Progetti and Barilla (first adaptive-control based plant for pasta drying); in the same years in the aeronautical industry with Alenia;
• between ’89 and ’94 with Prima Industrie for robot control software and with the Japanese AMADA (first in the world system for robotized bending);
• in ’93 continues the collaboration with Amada through its European research centre; multiple applications are made in sheet metal working, from cutting to bending to welding, using innovative automated systems and robotic.
• between ’97 and 2004, Erxa is in Brazil, UK and Italy with Pirelli (for an innovative process control of optical fibres production);
• between ’90 and ’95 is with Digital in the project for automated toll access control for Autostrade;
• between ’95 and ’98 collaborates with European Community in the Robertino project (development of a real-time software for special robot control for nuclear fusion plants); in 1998, with the coordination of Joint Researche Center (European Community), develops Generis, a powerful and complete real-time software for multi-purpose robot control
Erxa was born in 1988 as a spin-off of Prima Progetti (now Prima Industrie). Since the beginning, Erxa collaborates with big firms:

• in ’98 enters in the defence industry developing several large projects for the navy; in the same years there are the projects for Comau (automatic measuring system for working cells configuration) and the collaboration with ABB in robotics applied in bending process;
• in 2001, the new offices in the “Piero della Francesca Center” are established
• in 2004 enters in the health-pharmaceutical industry with Gambro and continues with a major project for the R&D center of Sanofi-Aventis, which sees the creation of a fully automated (7 robot and several special machines) for the manipulation of Petri dishes; in the project, in addition to software development, ERXA acts as a System Integrator
• in the same years, Erxa develops for Arbo Machinery a CAD/CAM system for control of robotized cells for shoes milling;

• in 2009 ERXA introduces RoboWave hyprogram, the revolutionary Off Line solution, dedicated to the hybrid programming of robotic systems, allowing to program any robotized cell in rapid and reliable way.
• in 2006 Erxa launches the first release of its development platform, RoboWave SDK; from 2007 starts collaborations with robot manufacturers as Kuka and Motoman and with renowned numerical control manufacturers; in the same year, from the partnership with Rolfo and Elia, Erxa develops Car Loader the unique software in the world for building and automatic loading of car-transporters;
• in 2008 with a big success Erxa brings out RoboWave bending, the software for the automatic and robotized sheet metal bending, concentrating 20 years of experience in robotics and in bending processes
• In the same year, starts first projects for Luxottica (a complete system for lens coating) and Bottero (for flat glass production). Erxa offers a complete solution coordinating a large team and suppliers.

From 2002 the Italian Ministry assigns the title of qualified research centre; the ISO 9001:2000 certification arrives in 2003 and in 2008 Erxa becomes a Certified Microsoft Partner.
In 2004 together with other local actors, Erxa founds the Piedmont Robotics Association (www.arp-to.it) and in 2005 the LARI is established. In 2007 Erxa starts the 3–years research project Macp4Log with the Politecnico di Torino and Istituto Superiore Mario Boella in the field of service robotics for advanced logistics solutions. Also in 2008, Erxa takes part of the 3-years ambitious project STEPS, for the realization of an integrated system for space exploration.
In 2008 during a memorable party Erxa celebrates 20 years of activities.

The Architecture: components
The RoboWave Platform represents a collection of COM and C# software libraries performing the main software and technological functionalities of RoboWave SDK: geometrical modeling, kinematics, multi-machine/multi-robot realistic simulation, 3D visualization, axis interpolation, collision management, and so on
Platform Options represents a collection of COM and C# software libraries providing special technological functionalities that extend the main capabilities of RoboWave Platform

The Architecture: components
The HMI Framework can be seen as a sort of “presentation layer”. It is composed by a collection of C# software libraries that can be used for the development of Client Applications.
The APPLICATION CLIENT represents the Application level. It is identified by software applications developed using RoboWave Platform. At this level there are a number of applications composing the final product.
The ADD-IN represents the customization mechanism for Elements included in the Platform and Applications. An OEM can develop software for extending or customizing functionalities provided by both RoboWave Platform and of the Clients.
