All employees have access to the same, up-to-the-minute data, whether in the office or on the go what saves valuable working time. Because the data are available in one single system, you have a 360-degree view of your projects. This allows you to get a true and uni-fied picture of critical, up-to-the minute busi-ness information across the entire organization.

Whether it be project calculation or highly flexible time and cost planning with phases, milestones and dependencies including project billing, MARIProject comprises all the core functions required by professional ser-vices companies to run their project-oriented business. Time and expense tracking, sup-port and data approval are possible online. With MARIProject you increase the trans-parency and reduce delays in the project workflow and project billing.

MARIProject provides also a support desk in order to manage customer requests and sup-port tickets online. The support desk (user help desk) documents all processes. It helps you optimize your customer service by online access for both employees and customers.

Access to customer data on the goThe data of customers, vendors and employ-ees are defined once in the system and are available to all users.

Pre-defined costingItems and services for the project costing are quickly selected with MARIProject because the items as well as the costing method are stored in the system. You store the defaults during the initialization.

MARIProject uses these defaults auto-matically in the costing and determines the project's total price. Negative margins are highlighted in terms of color. MARIProject displays both the amount of the margin and its percentage value. This allows you to cus-tomize the final price to the project require-ments.

Play through costing variantsMARIProject allows saving quotation cost-ings. So you can play through multiple cost-ing variants.

Templates for all documents are defined in the system, according to your needs and in the corporate business design of your company

Simple quotation costing - optimal margin

Generate documents automaticallyAfter the calculation is complete, you gener-ate automatically the sales quotation in form of a PDF based on the sales quotation template stored in the system with the data of the business partner.

During the initialization of the system, templates are stored for all documents (sales quotations, invoices, delivery notes etc.) that are used in the company.

Once you have saved the sales quotation, its value is taken into account in reports of all kinds.

Set up projects automaticallyThe function for the automatic setup of projects ensures from the outset a systematic approach. When you create new projects, you can refer to project templates or previous projects. This saves valuable time. In addition, the project master (project folder) contains all important information from the start: customer data, workgroup, contract and documents etc.

Structure projects systematicallyMARIProject helps you organize your project in a hierarchical structure and break down the tasks and activities in your project. Determine the length of a project phase, define dependencies, milestones and optimal workflow times and plan time buffers.

Also, assign specific tasks within project phases to employees.

All essential information about the project (e.g. phase structure and phase status) are displayed in the project master.

Document managementThe project master has a folder for project-related documents like specifications or e-mails that allows you to check-in or check-out documents for further treatment.

ELO, the DMS solution for electronic filing, provides more extensive opportunities.

ELO can be integrated via an interface into SAP Business One.

Contracts in MARIProjectThe contract is the core element of a project in MARIProject. It includes the products and services that were agreed with the cus-tomer. But the functionality of a contract in MARIProject goes far beyond what actually refers to a "contract". The project contract controls for example also, whether working time is posted to the project or whether travel expenses are billed to the customer.

Flexible project planning for employees and pools

Plan time and costs optimallyNo matter whether you plan costs or time for employees or resource pools, MARIProject has the perfect planning option for every requirement, e.g. Gantt planning, standard or periodic planning.

Plan resources based on working time modelsThe planning of employees is based on differ-ent time models (calendars), e.g. calendars for different countries and states/provinces/regions or for part-time workers.

Manage vacationMARIProject includes a complete tool for vacation planning. Employees can submit vacation requests online, through a mobile device, for approval to their superior. After approval of the vacation request, the vacation will be entered in the employee's calendar where it can be displayed for future planning.

Recognize immediately who is availableAlready in the planning of employees, equip-ment or resource pools, you can recognize immediately whether the planned resource is available at the right time or whether an employee is on vacation or has been planned for another project.

After order acknowledgement, you distribute the resource pool planning simply by drag and drop to a specific employee or unit of equipment.

Customize planning efficientlyIt is of course no problem to modify the planning data. However, modifications always affect the project's time and cost structure. Therefore, any change causes an update of the data on all levels (time, costs, resources, reports).

Planning versionsWhen planning a project, you can play through different planning versions and store these versions in the system.

Interfaces to Microsoft® Project ...A bi-directional interface to Microsoft Project enables the data synchronization. This option allows, for example, to share planning with your customers.

Data entry - quick & mobile

Mobile data entryIn the professional services industry, em-ployees work often on-site at the customer instead of in their own office. For this reason, MARIProject allows you to record master data, hours and materials also via Internet with the "Web Client" and to some extent also via smartphone with the "Mobile Client".

Variable time trackingTime tracking is possible in the full version, in the Mobile Client as well as the Web Client. Hours can be recorded by the employees themselves, by the project manager or by an appropriately authorized employee. Apart from the recording with keyboard and mouse, MARIProject supports the time recording via touch screen.

In all cases, you are able to record only the attendance time or to post hours to a project. In addition, it is possible to post services to periods, e.g. one week training in a single ac-counting process.

Items entry and repeat ordersFor proper billing and current stock, you can capture used materials and order missing materials. MARIProject supports both in the full version, Mobile Client and Web Client. The data are posted directly in the system even if you order materials online.

Up-to date project reportsMARIProject generates a variety of reports based on up-to-the-minute data, such as bal-ance list, planned/actual hour comparisons or the projects' percentage of completion.

Many project reports are also available in the Web Client. This allows you to determine for example target/actual differences in your project even if you are on the road.

Services captured per project and en-tered attendance times are immediately visible in the integrated version, in the Web Client and Mobile Client.

Easy billing of travel expenses

Simplified entry of travel expensesWith longer business trips it is helpful to cap-ture travel expenses already on site (online via Web or smartphone) and to assign the costs to the project.

To simplify the billing, meal and accommoda-tion allowances according to German law are already defined in MARIProject.

Internal accountingThe employee enters all costs of travel and thereafter bills the expenses internally for repayment. He can optionally photograph the receipts with his smartphone and at-tach them in form of a PDF file to the travel expenses accounting.

Approval and billingAfter approval of the travel expenses by the project manager, the accounting department reimburses the travel expenses and - de-pending on the contract - bills the costs to the customer. As a result, there are no delays in billing and no amounts remain open.

Reports Once the travel expenses are recorded, MARIProject takes them into account in the project reports. As a result, you are always up to date of your project.

Accurate billing and posting of projects

Automated billingMARIProject provides a billing wizard to as-sist the accounting department in the billing of projects. At the contractually agreed time, the billing wizard proposes all billable values for invoicing to the customer.

Flexible billing types MARIProject supports all common billing types such as fixed price, billing at cost, down payments, advance payment etc. Also com-missions and commission accruals can be defined in the system.

In the contract, you can for example agree upon down payments with a date and a specific percentage of the total value. In the final account, the value already billed will reduce automatically the total value of the final account.

Billing Wizard: MARIProject proposes materials and services at the contractually agreed time for billing to the customer.

Post invoices automaticallyWhen you create the invoice, the values are automatically posted in the financial accounting. The documents are stored in the corporate business design including all attachments.

Reversal and credit memoNo matter whether there is a complaint or an incorrect invoice, the system lets you cancel an invoice or issue a credit memo.

Currencies and payment meansMARIProject takes into account different cur-rencies with the respective exchange rates. You can individually define the approach for the calculation of the exchange rate.

MARIProject features different payment means, such as invoice, check, cash or credit card payment.

Streamlined processes and transparency in support

User Help Desk (Support Desk) includedAfter completion of the project, the custom-er relationship does usually not end because software solutions, for example, must be serviced regularly. The web-based service module of MARIProject helps you process support requests efficiently to maintain ongoing customer satisfaction.

24/7 - Online access also for customersIn a simple way, you can grant also your customers online access to the support desk. This allows the customer to capture messages himself. Also, the customer is able to keep track of the processing status throughout the duration of processing like the service employee.

Depending on the needs, you can define also images or text documents that describe in detail the support issue.

Time Tracking for Cusotmer SupportAfter successful processing of the request, the employee of the support department records the used processing time. The data entered in this way in the system is immedi-ately available for billing and reporting.

Service level agreementsMARIProject lets you define service level agreements (SLA) according to customer specification with response and solution times.

The SLA monitor shows the status of the op-erations and their processing time. The colored representation simplifies the overview.

Access to support tickets is also possible online. As a result, you are immedi-ately informed about the processing status from anywhere at anytime.

Support Dashboard: Employees can view their support tickets online and open tickets online to learn more.

360-degree insight into projects - anytime

Standard reportsIn order to be successful and to make smart business decisions, also managers of small and midsize businesses need quick access to timely and accurate reports. However, this is not feasible in a heterogeneous system land-scape with many individual solutions.

By default, MARIProject contains more than 200 pre-configured reports that are displayed with up-to-the-minute data on a simple mouse click, including percentage of completion, remaining volume, planned/ac-tual hours comparison, capacity utilization of your employees or project totals.

Individual reportsThe software allows you even to integrate your own reports, for example a freely definable breakeven analysis. These customer specific reports are generated with real-time data at your fingertips.

Powerful dashboardsMARIProject and SAP Business One on HANA help you design and visualize dashboards with standard key figures in the cockpit to keep track of your business.

In addition, individual queries can be defined and visualized that graphically represent up-to-date figures, such as the support dashboard or the dashboard "Planned/Actual Hours Comparison".

Export interface to ExcelYou can export all reports to Excel or deliver the report in form of a PDF file by e-mail to colleagues or customers.

Work in progressMARIProject lets you determine also work in progress (WIP) by using a freely-definable template. It is possible to calculate the values according to IAS/US GAAP. These values are transferred to the financial accounting/bal-ance sheet at the touch of a button.

Internal Distribution of ServicesIn order to be able to assign the costs in the company according to the costs-by-cause principle, MARIProject provides a function for the internal distribution of services. For this purpose, you can specify the performing and receiving cost centers as well as the cor-responding cost rates.

Dashboard: The "Planned/Actual Hours Comparison" visualizes planned and performed hours per customer and per month and shows also the average sales price per hour.

Key figures of the customer service are visualized in the "Support Dashboard".

On-premiseMARIProject can be used with different tech-nologies. The solution works in a (traditional) client-server environment. The data are stored on a server within your company and are also maintained in-house. Employees with an appropriate permission have access to the business data and are able to add new data by using their mobile device (e.g. laptop, smart-phone, tablet).

If you decide to run MARIProject and SAP Business One as an on-premise solution, you will manage all software updates by yourself. MARINGO as manufacturer of MARIProject and SAP partner provides you with the neces-sary updates (upgrades of SAP Business One and MARIProject). In this case, the sales price is based on the number of licenses and the maintenance contract.

On-demand (Cloud solution)It is also possible to run MARIProject "on-demand" as a so-called cloud solution. This means SAP Business One and MARIProject including all business data are installed at a provider and are maintained (hosted) by this provider.

Your employees have access to the data via computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet. So you can focus on your core business activities not servers, hardware or software to main-tain. The calculation of the price for the on-demand version is based on a monthly rental fee per employee plus installation costs.

SAP HANANow MARIProject and SAP Business One are even more powerful thanks to SAP HANA. The in-memory technology accelerates data retrieval and provides graphical reports within seconds. Special hardware is required for the in-memory technology.
