Kyle is a fantastic father. He

loves to be with his family over

everything else, and has fun

with River whenever they are together. He is a very hard

worker at both work and home. I am always amazed at allthe things he can accomplish when it comes to creating

and xing things. When Kyle sets his mind to somethinghe will do everything he can to make it happen. I admirehis determination and will, and hope that this gets passed

on to our children.

By Kyle:I like to garden and ride my bike in the summer.When it gets cold outside, I like to x up the house andread next to the re. Throughout the entire year I enjoybeing active with River and encouraging his creativity. Iam in the process of applying to Physical Therapy school

to get my doctorate in that eld. I love to travel and haverecently discovered viewing foreign countries from the

seat of a bicycle. There is no better way to meet the

people and see the countryside than from on top of two

wheels!

rin is a very loving person, very caring, and playful.

She can nd pleasure in the smallest everyday

things. She is very loyal and dutiful to her family. Erin has the

ability to lighten a tense or solemn situation, but she also has a stubborn and misc

side that can cause lively and heated discussions. She is passionate about helping oth

fortunate than her. She loves to travel the world! She has traveled to so many countr

continents and is enthusiastic about all the possibilities to go to other destinations.

By Erin:Lately I have been working hard to nish my doctorate in education. Wh

playing with River or grading geography papers from my 8th grade students, I am read

studying so I can complete my dissertation. I love spending time with friends and fam

enjoying dinners out. Kyle and I love going to the zoo together as well as the many act

that are around our town. Since both of us have summers off, we always try and tra

a little. In addition to our family getaways (Hawaii, Adirondacks, Colorado and

Wyoming) we also do our best to explore elsewhere.As a family we have visited

Disneyworld and Disneyland and have done a bike trip together in France as well

as other areas of Minnesota and neighboring states. We look forward to taking

our children and family around the globe so they can see and experience all the

wonders the world has to offer.

Our careersBy Kyle: I am a technical director to the dancedepartment at a university in our town. I createlighting designs as well as build sets, work the

sound, etc for all dance performances. I amworking on the pre-requisites to work toward

becoming a physical therapist in the near future!

By Erin: I am an 8th grade geography teacherin a suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul. I teachprimarily Eastern hemisphere geography and

love it. I also facilitate a graduate level class for

teachers centering on diversity. (SEED- Seekingeducational equity and diversity) I am on variouscommittees in the district, mostly having to do

with diversity issues.

I am also getting my doctorate in Education andam almost done (I only have the dissertationleft!). Work is very important to me and I love it,

but after my doctorate is nished I may look forother roads. I just know I want to work with kids,whether they are in 8th grade or 20 years old!

We live in aw o n d e r f u lcommunity in eastern

Minnesota! It is a smallcollege town with

diversity of mind. Our

house is a beautiful old

house built in 1873 with

everything you could ever need. Our town has a great public

school system, which River will attend after he has completed

Montessori school.

Our town is a lively, close-knit and very active place. In thesummer there are always concerts, community groups and

a full roster of ever-changing activities to take part in. Our

house is very close to downtown and walking distance from

a wonderful new pool. We have a lot of friends in town and

enjoy all there is to enjoy in this fun little town!

Our Family Getaways: Erins parents own two vacation

homesone in Maui, Hawaii, and a old large cabin in the

Adirondacks, New York. We go to each place at least once

a year. Kyles family also has a wonderful second home inWyoming that we enjoy visiting. It is close to their home inColorado and a nice place to relax in the Wyoming Mountains.

We are lucky to be able to take family vacations at these beautiful

places which are all so different!

Erins brother Colin and sister in law Beth are expecting their rst child. Her parents Ron and Mare based in Boulder, Colorado (though they always seem to be visiting one of their otherKyles parents Dave and Sandy live in Fort Collins, Colorado. He has two younger brothers, Bo

Corey, who is newly married. As Erin & Kyles family is all based out of Colorado, we visit theand see them during family vacations. We are very close to all of our family and enjoy spendi

of the summer and spare time together.

On Parenting

We want to instill adventure into our childrens souls! Together as a family, we will exploreand seek out all the wonders of the world. We travel often and love to have kids along.Seeing something in a new and exciting place is just so much more fun with your child at your

side! We constantly go places and do things with River. We go to the pool, the zoo, amusementparks as well as play dates with friends and going to the movies.

There are two parks within two blocks of our house so on days

together we go there often. There is always something fun todo in our town and we rarely miss a chance to enjoy it.

We understand the importance of play and fun, and emphasizekindness and respect for others. Realizing the wonder andbeauty of life and being good to the people around youand
