Who am i?

Hello, I am Erika Montgomery-McMillon. Most know me as Erika McMillion or The Guru. I am a goal-oriented

purpose driven soul with the innate ability to create innovative and effective solutions for accomplishing anything I set out to do --- especially business growth.

I owned my first successful business at the age of 6. As a young college student I was offered the opportunity to

work at NASA, Wells Fargo, Caterpillar, Inc., Lockeed Martin, GeekSquad and a few others. I purchased my dream car (Mercedes SLK 230 SE) and dream single-

woman home (located in a quiet gated community near a golf course) in my 20s; I have been mentored by

Donald Trump through his Marketing Mastery Program and Robert Kiyosaki through his Rich Dad Poor Dad program; Promoted to the role of IT manager after

serving as a computer tech for only 6 months; Retired from “working for the man” after 6 years to pursue my business; and now have a sustainable business compensating me

much more than I ever made as an IT manager.

I have owned several businesses. Some have been successful and others were great learning experiences. I know what it means to pump tons of time and money into your

dream only to feel like you are still not where you want to be. I know what it means to be working a job knowing that it is not your ultimate purpose

and neither is it at the core of your passion.

I’ve been there. Done that! I currently run a successful business helping fellow entrepreneurs like yourself as grow

Last, but definitely not least… I am a wife and mother of a 10 month old little boy & two dogs; and try to stay involved

in local ministry and community activities. So….my professional and personal life continues to be eventful! --- and I love every

JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY, Jackson, MS 10/2008 – 11/2012 Data Analyst / Assistant to the Associate VP / Digital Measures Co-Administrator Perform data analysis using various assessment tools and reports used to determine the activities performed by the students, faculty and staff in efforts to evaluate the institution’s effectiveness and competitive edge. Assist in the development of several campaigns and programs to boost the awareness of the importance of university assessments.

• Developed flyers, flash-based demos web site and e-mail advertisements to promote assessment awareness and the related events.

• Performed instructional and interactive presentations to encourage the use of and educate faculty and staff on assessment tools such as Digital Measures and Qualtrics.
