Anyone who has been exposed to WorldVentures knows how exciting, uplifting, positive and addictive our

vibe and culture can be. This powerful, intangible benefit is worth way more than the cost of our membership; it enhances our lives on so many levels that it really would be hard to measure.

WorldVentures has blessed my life in so many ways! My mind was opened through the culture and the hearts of the people to the countless other blessings that were in store as a member of this amazing lifestyle club! Unfortunately, there are people who cannot fathom a community or “membership” that spurs people to create a personal bucket list while simultaneously providing accountability, encouragement and a way (DreamTrips) to check those items off!

The question is, how do we help those who have never been around our culture and don’t really know what they’re missing? How do we build a bridge of trust when people are reluctant to open themselves up to something new and different?

The WorldVentures’ Trust Council is an extension of the company’s desire to expand and embody trust. A role of the Trust Council is to discuss and predict how the behaviors of our company are perceived by the public. We recommend actions for the company to take to build trust in the industry.

Another purpose of the Trust Council is to gain and build trust with new and existing members and Representatives throughout their career. If we align what we promise with what we deliver and portray WorldVentures products and services accurately, we will gain trust and consistency with our Reps and members. Being truly transparent means admitting that we’re not perfect. WorldVentures has taught me to remain humble and admit that though none are perfect, the people in our organization are sincerely committed to excellence and are creating a valuable and unique experience for everyone.

I am so honored to be a member of the Trust Council. Having sat in on many hours of in-person meetings and conference calls, I can truly say my trust and belief in our company’s integrity and authenticity has increased!

Since joining WorldVentures, my husband Scott and I have adopted a philosophy of leading by example. As International Marketing Directors, we make it our mission to attract and develop like-minded leaders who work together, adding their individual strengths and personality to the business. By banning together as One Big Team, we are building with and mentoring the next generation of leaders. Our ultimate objective is to leave a strong legacy that perpetuates itself. By starting with the

actions we “model,” upcoming leaders will duplicate and elevate the excellence and effectiveness of proven success practices.

I’ve been doing direct sales very successfully for more than 25 years, and in that time, I’ve been asked the same

handful of questions over and over again. One of the most common questions is, “Who is the ideal person to work with? Is it a man or a woman? Is it someone with a college degree? Is it someone with previous sales experience?”

First of all ... there’s no perfect prospect! If you look at our RMDs, NMDs and IMDs all over the world, you will see that some are male and some are female; some are young and some are more mature in years; some have white-collar and some have blue-collar backgrounds. There is no common denominator that can help you “target” the perfect prospect.

What I can tell you is that the ideal prospect for your team is someone who is dissatisfied with something in their lives. It may well be their lack of income, but it could be their time freedom or their lack of fun too. It doesn’t matter what they’re dissatisfied with, as long as they’re unhappy with something that WorldVentures can be the answer to.

But let’s dig a bit deeper. What are the qualities someone should have to make it to the top here? That’s a better question. While our successful leaders have many varying qualities that help them make it to the top, there is one thing that really has stood out for me over the years.

When I was deciding if i should invest my time and energy into someone on my team, the first question I always asked myself was ... are they coachable? Will they take direction? Our business is unlike anything most people have ever done. The skills needed to achieve high success do not come naturally to people. They must be learned.

Unfortunately, many people who have a little success in the real world just assume they can do the same in direct sales. Wrong! This is especially true for people who have a sales background. I know because I was a professional salesman for seven years before I got into the industry. I didn’t listen to many of the key teachings becauseI knew everything already! Wrong!

As a salesperson, I was trained to “close” people. So I did. I personally convinced about 50 people to join my team. Virtually none of them did anything. They really didn’t want to do the business. I sold them on it!

If I was being coachable, I would have learned that we should be “sorting” not “selling” when it comes to building a team. All those 50 people quit and I was about to do the same. My inability to be coachable far exceeded my talents. My turning point was when I humbled myself and admitted that “it” obviously was working ... it was “me” who was doing it wrong!

Therefore, I became highly coachable! I attended 20 training events over the next 12

months and did exactly what I was taught. My results exploded. Over the years, working the business can seem like you are slowly climbing up a mountain or it can seem like you are cruising down a mountain. The main difference is whether or not the new person you are working with is coachable or not.

Legendary football coach Vince Lombardi said he would rather have a player with marginal talent who had a great attitude and who was coachable than a player with tremendous talent who won’t take direction. Learn from coach Lombardi. His players followed his teachings or played somewhere else. Learn and follow our proven system, and find people who are willing to do the same—then don’t be surprised if you end up with us on the next RMD trip!

“I’ve tried to create a vision so big that there’s room for everyone,” Wayne says. “WorldVentures is a framework for greatness. There are no limits; it’s up to you to create what you want with this opportunity. I want our Representatives to be visionaries with me—to share their ideas about how to help others live more fulfilled lives. We’re in the business of bringing joy to as many people as possible.”

No doubt about it, the world is a better place thanks to Wayne’s vision and his unwillingness to compromise. But like all great men, he faced moments of genuine struggle. Wayne’s is a story of humble beginnings, fateful encounters and tremendous foresight. His journey begins in as formidable and storied a place as any—the United States Marine Corps. As a soldier, Wayne’s passion for seeing the world set the stage for self-discovery. He trekked the globe, backpacking across Europe and staying in hostels on a budget. His impulse to

see the world shaped his character, but it also ignited the dream of traveling with friends, in style—a dream that ultimately led to WorldVentures and DreamTrips. In 1992, his transition from the Marines to civilian life was not without setbacks. Wayne began a career in sales, relying on his gumption and solid work ethic, working 12- to 14-hour days. He was a consistent top performer but quickly hit the ceiling; no matter how hard he worked or how much he was relied upon, his tireless efforts and long hours didn’t translate into the rapid kind of advancement he desired. Clearly, Wayne was destined for greater things.

“People are so driven to belong that they lose their motivation,” he says. “They’re working for someone else’s vision. We’re programmed to work inside of the box. But oftentimes conformity can lead to mediocrity which is the highest degree of poverty. Success comes from thinking, feeling and doing things differently.”

BLUEPRINT FOR A BALANCED LIFEWayne’s first exposure to direct sales was by chance. While he was selling cable television from door to door, a couple recognized his talent and positive attitude and introduced him to direct sales; it was an experience that invoked his true calling and aligned with his ambition. In direct sales, Wayne found the freedom to grow his career at a pace that was entirely up to him, and his charisma and knack for helping people allowed him to create the personal and professional freedom he longed for. However, after years of generating millions in sales and recruiting more than 100,000 independent representatives, Wayne was unfulfilled. Could he do this for the rest of his life? His answer sparked the desire to create a company where he would not get bored, one built around freedom and traveling the world—a company he wanted to join, but that didn’t exist. On December 10, 2005, with the help of longtime friend and Co-Founder Mike Azcue, WorldVentures was born—the blueprint for a balanced

life. Wayne recognized that people were not living up to their potential and it wasn’t long before WorldVentures began to resonate with prospects around the world. The idea that one could spend quality time with one’s family, venture to exotic destinations and be a creative, independent business owner drew an eager audience, hungry for more meaning and opportunity in their lives.

WE CREATE JOYWayne has spent the last decade living the dream. Cast from compassion onto open hearts and minds, his vision has inspired others to chart their own course, and pursue a way of life that creates joy through balance, personal growth and service. “We care about the overall well-being of your whole being,” he says. Wayne believes that first and foremost, a great company is built with great people.

“We create joy—that’s our vision,” Wayne says. “There’s a difference between joy and happiness. Happiness is fleeting. Joy is a deeper, richer and more soulful experience. We are in the business of bringing joy to people. This is about the pursuit of happiness versus the discovery of joy. When you pursue happiness, you’re always looking. Joy is when you stop looking. Joy is within you. Joy is selfless and touches your soul.”

Joy comes from striking a balance among the spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual and financial aspects of your life. It’s difficult to find joy if one aspect of your life dominates the others. “You take all of you with you all the time,” he says. “You can’t compartmentalize your life. When you’re congruent in all areas of your life, you will feel the measurable results, and you’re going to feel good about yourself—and that’s joy. True joy comes from within. We provide the framework with this incredible opportunity so you can make it your own. You have to find your joy.”

BECOME A MASTER IN THE ART OF LIVINGMuch of his time is spent mentoring others, and Wayne challenges every WorldVentures Representative to do the same. Maintaining humility and celebrating the victories of others is key, he says, to achieve victory yourself.

“The guy on top of the mountain didn’t fall there,” Wayne says. “There was a lot of hard work, dedication, and guidance from parents and coaches and mentors. The way you learn the fastest is to fail as fast as you can. If you’re not willing to fail forward, don’t begrudge the person who is. You should celebrate that person. That builds the right joy in you and attracts success. Be proud of them because they’ve shown you what’s possible.”

Failures, he adds, are guaranteed; it’s how we handle those setbacks that will determine our worth. It’s here that true leaders are born. Your values are the compass for every challenge; they develop your character and inspire others to follow your lead. And success, Wayne is quick to add, doesn’t equate to dollars and cents. Rather, joy comes from being your best self and pushing yourself daily to achieve it.

“No matter your rank, what you have or don’t have, it doesn’t matter—you matter,” he says. “Whatever your life situation, whatever you’re born into, you’re a child of God first and foremost. You just owe it to yourself to be the best you can be. If you’re not doing everything you can each day, that diminishes your joy.”

The first step to self-actualization and to finding lasting joy is to begin the journey to becoming a Master in the Art of Living, a pursuit that is near and dear to Wayne’s heart. The reason WorldVentures’ ultimate servant leader and Chief Visionary Officer continues to dream big is he finds fulfillment watching Representatives around the world grow and discover their true potential.

“I encourage everyone to become a Master in the Art of Living,” Wayne says. “If you’re practiced in these five areas of your life—spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual and financial—you’ll not only discover joy, you’ll be prepared for whatever comes your way. That’s what I want for you. I want you to find your joy.”

“We Are One Big Team” is the core value that resonates most with Keith. “We are

all working and striving together”

eith Brown was working as a bus driver in Chicago, Illinois, and had resigned himself to what he thought would be his fate.

“I worked 14 years with the bus company and thought that was it for the rest of my life,” he says. “The pension wasn’t going to be enough. Most people there had to get another job after retirement, and a lot of them died within three years of retiring.”

Then something unexpected changed his life.

A co-worker, William Collins, discovered WorldVentures and told Keith there was a better way to make a living than driving a bus.

Three years later, Keith now eats, sleeps and breathes WorldVentures. He admits that he

was originally attracted by the opportunity to travel—especially DreamTrips. “Before WorldVentures, my world consisted of the state of Illinois and not much more. Now my world is a lot bigger. I can go anywhere I want. I have friends all over the world, including Cyprus, Singapore and China. Because we’re all involved with WorldVentures, everyone feels like family.”

WorldVentures has expanded Keith’s horizons in other ways, too. Now he’s focused on building a financial legacy for his family. “I want to look down from heaven and see my family’s lives changed because of the decision I made to join WorldVentures.”

He believes his goal is within reach because of the team approach that is the heart of WorldVentures. In fact, “We Are One Big

Team” is the core value that resonates most with Keith. “We are all working and striving together,” he explains.

Whether he is working shoulder to shoulder with his home team, reaching out to other teams in Chicago, or partnering with teams in Baltimore and beyond, Keith knows they will succeed because they all genuinely care for one another and are deeply invested in each other’s success. They know that they can achieve far more together than alone. This strong support system keeps him motivated. If anyone on the team falters, someone has their back—especially their accountability partner. “If you have a bad day,

teammates. “A lot of us came from nothing. We were living paycheck to paycheck. The decision we made to become part of WorldVentures totally changed our lives and the lives of our children.”

It’s no surprise that Keith is passionate about sharing his blessings and finds Facebook a great way to spread the WorldVentures message. His fun travel photos—playfully tagged with “You Should Be Here!”—attract a lot of attention. “I want to take what I have and bless other people—people who thought they had no way out. I want to educate people and expose them to a different way of earning a living. I want to help build a team of people who can change communities and generations.”

Right now they’re looking forward to an eight-day cruise to the Caribbean, but when the team isn’t off on an exciting travel adventure, they stay active in their community. Recently, Keith’s team joined forces with the Nancy Lieberman Foundation to build a basketball court for the Chicago’s Boys & Girls Club through DreamCourts, a program that provides children in underprivileged communities with a place to shoot hoops, participate in free basketball clinics and learn valuable lessons about teamwork and good sportsmanship.

The northern Minnesota native attended

college in the Twin Cities on a hockey

scholarship, but an injury sidelined him

during his freshman year. He was home for a

visit when his brother invited him along on a

house-hunting excursion. Eric’s brother, who

had recently graduated from college and had

ambitions to be a gym and special education

teacher, was expecting his first child and

shopping for his first home. The realtor

who was showing the home suggested that

he pursue a real estate license instead. Eric

thought it sounded like a viable option for

him, too. So the brothers forged ahead, got

their license and co-founded Prodigy Real

Estate when Eric was only 19. The enterprise

would eventually expand to seven offices.

“My goal was to build the business until I was

45 years old, then sell it,” Eric says.

But destiny had other designs.

ACCEPTING NEW CHALLENGESAfter declining over a dozen invitations,

Eric agreed to accompany a friend to a

business opportunity meeting at the office

of local chiropractor, Dr. David Pietsch, a

highly respected figure in the surrounding

community. An unsuspecting Eric had no

idea what was in store for him. “I showed

up blind,” he muses. Dave Watson was there

and gave a rousing presentation on earnings

and personal development potential with

this travel company called WorldVentures.

Though the speech was compelling and the

people nice enough, Eric was unconvinced.

“At the end, I was still not going to join,”

he reflects. “Then Dr. Pietsch took me aside

and asked me what my plan was for my life.

He said the only truly successful people

make $50,000 a month and scarcely take

their heads off the pillow. He asked me,

‘Doing what you currently do, is that even

possible?’ I said no. He said, ‘Here it is, we

can accomplish that here. I will teach you

how to get that lifestyle. One year from now,

you and I could be on a cruise ship, and

all the passengers and crew could be

our team.’”

Eric pondered the possibilities—walk

away from what he’s known and mastered

or venture down an uncertain road in an

unfamiliar industry. But, to quote another

Rockefeller truism, “If you want to succeed,

you should strike out on new paths,

rather than travel the worn paths of

accepted success.”

Eventually, he took a step of faith and

joined. It was December 2007.

So what finally sold him?

“I didn’t sign up for the travel or the money,”

he insists. “I signed up for the people and

their willingness to mentor and lead me. Dave

Watson and David Pietsch made the difference.

I didn’t really even understand direct sales,

but I liked them and their energy. It wasn’t the

product or the system that sold me.”

HITTING HIS STRIDESuccess came quickly for Eric as a

WorldVentures Representative, but that’s

not to say he was undaunted by opposition.

About five months into the business, after he

had achieved the level of Marketing Director,

his brother and a partner in his real estate

company called him in and gave him their

spiel on why he needed to quit direct sales and

stay full time with what he knew best. They

made a credible case and their logic was sound,

but their efforts didn’t loosen the tug Eric felt

to maintain his new course.

“My brother and I still had the company and,

when I started with WorldVentures, I did both

part time. I wanted to do WorldVentures full

time,” he says. “I knew I was onto something

big … being able to speak all over the world

and positively affect people’s lives. I had a

vision of Tony Robbins with a mic headset; I

had never worn one before. I put that picture

up so I could see it daily. That’s what I wanted

to do.”

His time would finally come.

REFINING HIS STRATEGY“I built my business from the contacts in my

cell phone, and I teach people how to do the

same thing. I’m good at getting to my people’s

people. We help them get their first sale in

24 hours. The most important person on

your team is you. Professional direct sellers

understand that the second most important

person is the last person who signed up.

That’s the lifeblood—the person with the

freshest contacts.”

Though he had a lot of success personally

sponsoring people in the beginning, Eric

concedes that he struggled to help them

duplicate the process.

“I had a conversation with Byron Schrag

when he came up for a training. He taught

me to stop selling people and to start

sponsoring people,” he asserts. “He said

instead of putting people in the business,

sponsor someone and help that person

sponsor someone else who then sponsors

another person, and so on. That takes the

focus off of me and makes it about other

people, and it works.”

Unlike many of his peers, Eric does not

leverage specific promotional tools like Just

Push Play, Living Proof, Voyager magazine,

DriveTime University or audio DVDs. His team

does live presentations exclusively.

“My most valuable aid is my girlfriend,

because of her. She does all the stuff that

doesn’t get the glory.”

He also attributes his success to the

personal development component of the

WorldVentures experience.

“Our system of personal development and

training has helped me become a better

person,” he shares. “When I was in business

before WorldVentures, I had never had anyone

stand up and talk about God in front of the

company. I really liked that because that’s

the way I was raised. When I entered the

business at age 24, I wasn’t the same person I

am today at 31.”

Asked how he stays engaged and inspired after

seven years, Eric offers the following:

WorldVentures event. It motivates me to see

my peers go up on that stage.”

And what does he do, in turn, to motivate

his team?

“I look for motivated people and teach them

how to be professional networkers. I sort

through guppies to find a few sharks,” he

explains. “The toughest part is watching

people quit on themselves because they’re too

emotionally attached and their feelings get

hurt when they hear the word ‘no.’ Those are

the short-term thinkers.”

From a practical perspective, Eric is teaching

prospects the significance of leveraged residual

income. Residual income is income that keeps

accruing from work you do just once, much

like a royalty earned from a book or song. In

contrast, leveraged income is derived from the

efforts of others. According to the Network

Marketing Business School, most people earn

what’s called a linear income, which means

they trade their time for wages with limited

potential due to salary caps, work schedules

and the like. “By learning to leverage your time,

you can benefit financially not only from your

own efforts but from other people’s efforts as

well,” the school’s Website says.

Through WorldVentures, Eric says you can

go from “being overworked and underpaid

to underworked and overplayed.” But like

any other enterprise, he adds, you have to

put in the time and energy to build your

WorldVentures business to a point where you

can enjoy leveraged residual income.

“Seven years later, I work the business full

time and devote 60 to 70 hours a week.

I might be the most competitive person

you’ll ever meet. I’m happy, but I’m not

comfortable. I have a strong desire to win,”

he asserts.

Asked what legacy he hopes to leave to his

family and community, Eric says in summary:

“My family didn’t come from money. My

dad is still at the same job where he worked

when he was 17 years old. A year and a half

ago, I was able to get him a week off work and

had my mom get him his very first passport.

I flew him to South Africa to watch me speak

Johannesburg. We did a safari together. My

parents have been married for 38 years. Next,

I’m taking them to Hawaii for the first time ever.

My goal is to be the one who changes it for

the Grzybowski family. My relatives came to

America on a boat, and they didn’t come here

so I could be minor. After me, it all changes.

I’m going to create generational wealth.”

His advice to others hoping to make it big in the business: “Show the people faster. Call your contacts faster. In the beginning, I wasn’t dialing the phone fast

enough so I didn’t get to a lot of people in my

contacts. That has cost me millions of dollars.”

LEAVE BETTERPrior to A View from the Edge in Duluth, Georgia, WorldVentures Foundation volunteers participated in three service excursions at the Boys & Girls Clubs in Atlanta. Established in 1974, the Carver/Eastside Club was the oldest of the clubs visited (and the oldest in Atlanta), and it looked every bit its age—a red brick façade flanked by large Atlas Cedars, rose from gently sloping terrain, transitioning to waxy corrugated siding overlooking a fractured parking lot, dumpster and tired basketball hoop. But despite its appearance, the Carver Club had a great vibe. Inside, trophies and certificates of completion lined the walls; evidence of spelling bee performance were posted in the foyer; above the door of the entrance, a touchstone of self-worth, “I believe in myself and my abilities,” was scrawled in black script; and wherever you looked, testaments to a values-based culture greeted you—posters of Thurgood Marshall, George Washington Carver and Harriett Tubman, not to mention signs that promoted fairness and justice, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, citizenship and caring.

No one knows the Carver Club better than Terry Walker Moore. Terry’s service background extends to a decade with the

Girl Scouts Foundation, and as Executive Director of the Carver/Eastside Boys & Girls Clubs, she nurtures her club through service that is proactive and empathetic. “Carver is a small club, but we do great things,” Terry said. “We mentor 145 kids a day, between the ages of 8 to 16 years of age. When you enter Carver, no matter what’s going on, you’ll leave better.”

THE HEART’S CONTENTWhen you meet a WorldVentures Foundation volunteer, you realize immediately that altruism is not counterintuitive; it is integral to our humanity and beliefs. The need to give back, as generic as that sounds, has become a password of late, syncing personal and public responsibility, and signaling an enthusiasm that is infectious, germane and a result of clarity that is gradually becoming mainstream. Volunteers come from all walks of life, and with like mind and motivation, bring about awareness through action.

WorldVentures Foundation volunteers arrived at the Carver/Eastside Boys & Girls Club on October 16, 2014, to scrub the club—providing much-needed clean up to the gym, classrooms, kitchen, bathrooms and exterior lot. For many volunteers, just stepping into the Boys & Girls Clubs had real significance. Mardie Wilson, active

“Even if I never make a dime, this is worth it,” April Consulo said. April and her team raised funds for the new DreamCourt in just four months’ time. “I feel blessed to be standing on this court. This is one of the things that is so near and dear to my heart. This court is so beautiful. It starts here with these children.”

Standing on the court with Field Liaison Dan Stammen, and Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs, Chris Williams, Executive Director of the WorldVentures Foundation Gwyneth Lloyd added: “We do this work together because it brings us together. I don’t know anyone in the world as generous, cohesive and caring as people from WorldVentures. What happens is the community starts to have pride. Good builds good.”

It was tough for my mom, my siblings and me. My mom was a single parent and she had to raise us by herself. So, when I got out of school, I went to the Boys & Girls Club to do my homework and they made sure I was doing everything I was supposed to. When I saw this opportunity through the WorldVentures Foundation, it touched my heart. Giving back to the Boys & Girls Club has been inside of me my entire life.”

TURNING ADVERSITY INTO ADVANTAGEWhen people speak of overcoming obstacles, we tend to think of them being catastrophes or situations worthy of a screenplay. That’s not always the case. Often it’s a quiet epiphany. For most of us, it’s waking up one day and realizing some form of adversity has to change.

International Marketing Director Tiffany Chappell tells of the day that she “looked at a bunch of pictures and realized, someone else was raising my children. Albert Einstein was a failure for a while, too. The old adage is true: “You can’t control what happens to you, you can only control how you react to it.”

So don’t let criticism get to you, because often it says more about the character of the person launching the critique than it does about you. You’re never going to please everyone, so don’t even bother trying. The more success you experience, the more sniping and jealousy and sometimes just plain meanness you may encounter.

And if you fail, don’t let your world come crashing down. Accept responsibility for your failure, study it, learn from it … and then let it go. Don’t let it consume you and eat you up, otherwise you’ll never be able to find success and happiness.

The person with big dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts. Keep dreaming and don’t stop believing in yourself, and you’ll find that even when small failures occur, they will ultimately lead you down the path to success.

here are no two ways about it: Some people are going to criticize you, and much of the time, it’ll have nothing to do with your work. Maybe they don’t like your appearance or the way you speak or your approach to your job. It could be totally illogical, or it could be a legitimate criticism. Either way, it’s impossible not to let negative comments affect you at least a little bit. But here’s the thing: Criticism doesn’t have to define you.

The most successful people in business don’t spend day after day locked in a prison of self-doubt; when they have success, they revel in it and appreciate the hard work that went into it. And when they fail, they “fail forward,” using the setback as a learning experience and allowing it to power them toward future successes.

As defined by business leaders and writers like John C. Maxwell, “failing forward” teaches you how to look at life’s setbacks and learn from your mistakes.

“Failures are only as bad as you perceive them to be,” Maxwell writes. “Life is much better when you live, try and fail. Living requires failing every now and then.”

Maxwell offers several other extremely useful tips in his 2007 book “Failing Forward: Turning Mistakes into Steppingstones to Success.”

Among his other exhortations are: “Say goodbye to yesterday, and focus only on the future”;

The moment you’re born, you’re instantly part of a network. It may only consist of your parents,

siblings and the immediate medical staff, but it’s a start. And then it grows … every day.

Soon the roles in that network begin defining themselves. That is, your mother feeds you, changes your clothes and offers TLC. Your father puts you to bed at night. Your sisters and brothers play with you and make you happy. Whether you realize it or not, as you get older you begin to rely on those people to fulfill those roles for you to a deeper extent. When you need compassion, you approach the more sympathetic people. When you want to play, you know who to go to.

It’s no different now, since you’ve become a professional. You surround yourself with a network of people. And each person in

that network—aside from being someone you know, like or maybe even love—serves some kind of specific purpose to you. Maybe it’s someone to vent to after a rough day; or someone to laugh with because she has the same sense of humor as you; or someone to share a story with that you know only he could appreciate. In other words, the network is a group of people you know who you can exchange information with. And those people will also naturally introduce you to other contacts over time, further building up your network.

This network expansion may very well help further your professional aspirations. The Website LinkedIn is all about this. Say you start out with 100 people in your LinkedIn network. The Website will not only show you other people in your contacts’ respective networks but in some cases how they know each other.

It shows what a small world this really is. It’s like the six-degrees-of-separation analogy. Except it’s very real. While LinkedIn may spell it out for you on your computer screen—showing you, for instance, that you’re two contacts away from someone you want to get to know—you don’t need the web service to realize that the same is true in life. Chances are good that if you step into, say, your local supermarket and pick someone at random, the two of you might be able to find a person connecting you in a matter of minutes. While you’re probably not going to randomly walk up to a stranger and ask how you know each other, it’s intriguing to know that you likely could find a network crossover. And the more people in your network, the greater the likelihood that could happen.

That’s why building up your own WorldVentures network

can be extremely beneficial. In fact, for every person you attract

into your network or team, you’re probably adding hundreds if not

thousands of new immediate contacts along with that person.

As you do so, be mindful of the demographics. That is, do you have a

contact in every geographical region of the country? Does your network include

people in the technology industry? Someone in professional sports? Maybe a

doctor or two? A financial advisor? Are all income levels represented? Ages? The more

you spread the wealth, so to speak, the more vast your network becomes, and the more

specific people you can connect with, via a common friend.

Next, what kind of personality mix does your network have? Converging different

personalities on your WorldVentures team and

recognizing the strengths in each personality can potentially make your squad much more effective in the long run. People tend to attract others with the same personality types. And that means furthering the reach of your network.

And then there are interests to consider. That is, are there people in your network who like cooking? Politics? College athletics? Crossword puzzles? Again, the more interests represented by people on your team, the larger your potential network is. One interest we know most people enjoy is traveling. And that will be the ultimate tie-together your WorldVentures network has.

But the key here is to bring in as much diversity as possible. One-dimensional teams go nowhere. Consider a baseball team that’s made up of all power hitters. At first, the lineup seems formidable—each batter presents the realistic possibility of a home run. But if each player swings for the fences every at-bat, there’s a good chance they’ll also either strike out swinging or hit fly outs. However, adding singles and doubles hitters, bunters with some base path speed

and some good contact hitters to the lineup makes the team as a whole much more likely to succeed. High-performing teams achieve superior participation, cooperation and collaboration levels because their members trust one another, share a strong sense of group identity and are confident in their effectiveness as a team.

That type of diversity will also bring your network a lot of success ... and personality. And that’s the kind of atmosphere many people are attracted to—one with varying demographics, interests and personalities. That kind of mixture makes people work well together and have more fun together. It reveals individual strengths and talents, and lets them rise to the top. When you identify everyone’s strength in your network, you’ll be able to determine the best role they can play, one that keeps each of them happy and productive.

raveling is all about having fun, experiencing new places, exploring and just chilling out—which can be limiting when traveling alone. Today, vacationing with your friends and meeting new people wherever you go is the new norm. It’s all about building a network base while enjoying unique experiences around the world.

Take the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA), for example. For years now, dozens of astute PGA members have been on the forefront of travel trends. They’ve organized golf trips for themselves and anywhere from eight to 16 of their country club members to travel and play golf together at exotic locations around the world, dine at nice restaurants, stay at upscale hotels, motor around in luxury coaches and develop a deep-rooted camaraderie. For the golfers traveling on these ambassador-style trips, it’s an amazing experience that keeps them coming back for more, resulting in wait lists for future jaunts. In fact, many of them recruit their friends for upcoming trips. For the golf professional, the trips are beneficial on several levels. First, their travel costs are typically picked up by the travelers or folded into the overall trip price. Thus, they get to travel the world playing golf for free. Second, they create lifelong bonds with their course members who are traveling with them. It positions the golf pro as an expert, the authority

on golf travel who seemingly has connections everywhere he travels. Last, it helps the golf pro make more money in the long run, as his fellow travelers will surely turn to him next time they need to buy a set of clubs, a new bag, a lesson or a fresh set of golf clothes back home. It’s a true win-win proposition for the pro.

What can you learn from these enterprising golf pros? For starters, just look at it from the golfers’ perspective: These trips are an absolute blast for them that take on an experience-of-a-lifetime aura. The pro helps get the golfers tee times at courses so exclusive that they couldn’t do it on their own. The golfers get to travel with their friends, everything is pre-arranged they have their own tour guide in the pro wherever they go, and in many cases they get to travel at a discounted rate. Bottom line: The customers are extremely happy with the experience.

Can you identify with the role of the golf pro here? When you take several members on a DreamTrip, you’re having fun all along the way, sharing experiences, learning about cultures together, saving money and establishing and fortifying lifetime relationships with your fellow travelers.

This is indeed the future of leisure vacationing. In fact, group travel has become very popular over the past few years, mainly because of all the benefits and advantages that it

provides. Consider how much easier it is to have someone else make your travel arrangements than if you were to travel alone. People hitting the road by themselves have to do all the legwork, such as preparing transportation needs, securing hotel reservations and figuring out if the location is optimal, researching destination highlights and any possible tour arrangements and figuring out how to get around once they’ve arrived. They also have to ask around to see where to eat and what to do. And there’s a potential language barrier, too, when visiting a foreign land—not to mention figuring out currency conversion rates, deciphering road maps and making sense of train systems.

Group travel, to the contrary, eliminates many of these factors. It’s completely organized. Itinerary legwork is done up front for you, in many cases. And when you want to venture out on your own, you have the freedom to do so. You’re generally traveling with others who have similar interests as you. You’re with tour guides who are intimately familiar with the territory and local customs. Plus, it’s a great way to get to know people and create lasting friendships. And when you travel with people you already know, it’s an opportunity to get to know them even better. Essentially, all you have to do is relax. Besides, so much can happen on a vacation that you really need friendly faces around for—whether it’s surviving an extended airport delay or simply having

someone to recap your day with over a couple of drinks. When traveling with others, you’re also more apt to do things and go places you wouldn’t by yourself. Stepping out of your comfort zone often creates the most memorable experiences.

There are other often-overlooked benefits of group travel. Groups can sometimes be eligible for special opportunities or considerations, such as private tours or priority service. Just as the golfers mentioned previously are privy to playing exclusive, private courses, group travelers can sometimes get booked into venues that are otherwise sold out. But you would never know that traveling solo. Then there’s the act of traveling, itself. Did you know that some customs agents in foreign countries move group tours through faster lines than individual travelers who commonly have to wait in long queues? Group travel simply eases the act of traveling.

It’s easy to see why so many people are turning in this direction for upcoming journeys. The way life has become, we have too little time to spend with loved ones and not enough money to do it, and the commodity of traveling has become stressful—replete with jam-packed airplanes, no-refund policies, lost luggage, disappointingly small rental cars and much more. The time has come to take the stress out of traveling. The future of fun has arrived.

t’s something we’re told by teachers, other adults and coaches and just about anyone in authority when we’re young. We dream big and talk about doing something beyond our abilities, and a well-meaning “grown-up” will pat us on the head and say “Now, now, don’t bite off more than you can chew.”

They think they’re helping, and in some ways they are: They know how much disappointment can sting, and they’re trying to be realistic so we don’t feel that sting ourselves. But for the most part, they’re wrong, and as an adult in the business world, you should know it’s wrong, too. Sometimes you really should bite off more than you can chew, and never, ever think a project or a goal is too big for you.

Maybe you want to build your dream house in the next five years. Or you want to become a millionaire. Or even travel to every continent, just so you can say you’ve set foot on all seven of them.

There are ways to do this, and it’s not impossible or improbable. Forbes.com, the Website of Forbes magazine consulted earlier this year with career and life coaches and listed seven goals for living your dream life.

These goals are as follows:

1. Imagine a day in the life you want to be living. Close your eyes and visualize it. Do this often, and it will start to become real to you.

2. Assess where you are now —financially, physically, logistically, socially and career-wise. It’s always good to size up your strengths and weaknesses regularly and make adjustments.

3. Break down the path to your ideal life into small, achievable goals. In other words, yes, bite off more than you can chew, but take small bites at first.

4. Write down your new habits and put them in a calendar. This will force you to see them constantly and have the habits reinforced.

5. Remove potential roadblocks. Take a look at your life and find obstacles that could get in your way. Then drop-kick them to the moon and out of your path!

6. Broadcast your intention to others. Don’t keep your dreams a secret; constantly telling friends and family about them will force you to keep focused, and it’ll help when they’re “nagging” about living up to what you’ve promised to do.

7. Find like-minded people to support and inspire you. Ignore the negative folks and seek out dreamers like yourself who will be supportive and help you find your path. There are others like you out there who are taking charge of their lives and dreams at the same time.

Of course, none of this is going to be easy; going after what you really want in life rarely is. But there’s no reason you can’t start living your dream life now, and there’s no time like the present to go after your goals and dreams.

Nothing is impossible. And once you start believing that, you’ll realize that you can have the life you’ve always wanted. You can follow your dreams; they are, after all, the way to tell your future.

“I had a client who is a financial advisor, and she called me on the way to a big meeting,” Litwak recalls. “And the first thing she told me was ‘I don’t think I’m going to get this business.’ And I basically said to her ‘then why even go?’ We talked about changing the tenor and approach of the questions and moving toward a sales strategy that focused on success. And it helped her get that business.” Some companies think ahead and build an approach to success within their corporate structure. At WorldVentures, our Core Values keep us on the right track. Of course, if you’re a “Negative Nate” who has struggled with optimism and positivity for most of your career, it’s not that easy to simply flip the switch and expect success.

One of the tricks experts use with clients is to get each individual saying out loud what they’re thinking, airing the negative beliefs and forcing them to become aware of what their attitude is.

“It’s very important to acknowledge that negative emotions are important too, but they can’t be the guiding force behind your decisions in business,” Richard Boyatzis, a professor of organizational behavior at Case Western University in Ohio, says. “You need the negative emotional factor (in your mind) to survive, but you need the positive factor to thrive.”

Boyatzis and Litwak argue that changing your mindset from negative to positive on a regular basis really is an emotional change for people that we don’t change our behavior and thinking on the basis of rational arguments, but emotional ones.

“It’s about saying to people ‘How does thinking this way make you feel? Doesn’t it make you feel better and more hopeful?’” Litwak says. “Feelings lead to thoughts, thoughts lead to actions and actions lead to results. If you want to change something, you need to change it at the belief level.”

Another major component to improving positive thinking is focusing on what you and your business have and not on what you don’t have. Don’t expect your company to explode in the next six months; focus on what you can do to make your business the best it can be.

Now if you’re starting to think that all this sounds well and good, but show me some proof, Boyatzis’ 2013 scientific study of the brains of college students could help sway you.

He and his colleagues took functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scans of the brains of 10 male and 10 female college students, but first they separated them into two groups: One was a “positive alternative attractor” group, where students were asked what their lives would be like in 10 years, if life were perfect.

The second group was a “negative alternative attractor” group was asked questions about their homework, upcoming exams and other stressful things that could yield pessimistic or negative answers.

Three days after questioning, the subjects took the brain scans, and the results revealed that during the “positive” interviews there was greater activity in the reward circuitry of the brain and the areas for happy feelings and good memories.

What this means, Boyatzis explained, is that visualizing and talking about positive outcomes actually does affect brain chemistry and can make you happier. Boyatzis plans a larger study with more subjects soon.

“We’re not saying you should always be positive,” Boyatzis says, “but most of us spend so much time in the negative sphere that we have to overcompensate and spend twice as much time in the positive sphere to really make ourselves feel positive.

Once you show people how much better things can be if they’re positive,” Boyatzis adds, “it becomes more obvious to them and they say ‘You know what? I do feel better!’”

Sixty-two years after Norman Vincent Peale sold millions of copies of a book called “The Power of Positive

Thinking,” the belief that thinking positive leads to success has once again taken over the business world.

Today, psychologists, business development experts and “life coaches” the world over are urging people to be more positive and to think of positive outcomes.

“It doesn’t take me long into a conversation to get to a point where I say ‘Think positive, get positive; think negative, get negative,’” Howard Litwak, a New York-based business coach, says. “When you think negatively, it saps your creativity and takes away so much from your productivity. If you’re always thinking negative, you find yourself thinking ‘Do I act, or do I not act?’”

Coaches like Litwak and Scott Ventrella, an adjunct professor at Fordham University and the author of “The Power of Positive Thinking in Business,” believe that although many people focus on negative external factors in their lives, the only real limits they face are self-imposed. As Litwak alluded to earlier, the people who are willing to make mistakes usually make the best decisions.

WorldVentures has designed its compensation plan to reward Independent Sales Representatives for: (1) successfully making personal sales of WorldVentures’ retail products (DreamTrips, DreamTrips Life and Luxury DreamTrips memberships); and (2) successfully building sales organizations by recruiting, training and motivating other team members to do the same. Below is an income breakdown for fiscal year 2011 in the United States.

During the period October 2011 to September 2012, 19.82% of all Independent Representatives (“IRs”) earned a commission or override, while 80.18% did not. The average annual commission or override earnings of all IRs, including those who did not earn a commission or override, was $190.15. The average annual commission or override earnings of that group of IRs who earned a commission or override was $957.12, and the median was $40.00. The data presented in the table above is based only on those IRs who earned a commission or override within the time period of October 2011 to September 2012.Notes:1. All amounts are represented in U.S. dollars.2. These figures do not represent Representatives’ profits, nor do they consider expenses incurred by Representatives in the promotion of their business.3. Promotion levels represented in the table are based on ranks achieved at the end of the year.4. An Independent Representative is one whose Independent Representative agreement was accepted by WorldVentures within the 12-month period preceding the last day of

the fiscal year displayed.5. An active Representative is one:

a. whose Independent Representative Agreement is in good standing and who has made a sale of a WorldVentures product within the 12-month period preceding the last day of the fiscal year displayed; or

b. who has earned a commission or override with WorldVentures within the 12-month period preceding the last day of the fiscal year displayed.6. Figures are for the U.S. market after five full years of operation. Figures may not reflect incomes in newly or less-established WorldVentures markets.
