Your Wellbeing Charity SupportWe offer a number of schemes at work to help you stay fit and healthy including:

• Cycle to work. We promote healthy and environmental ways of travelling to work. This scheme is run throughout the year, details of which can be found on My Tulip Rewards. You purchase a bike through the scheme and pay back the loan through your salary. At the end of the 12-month hire period there is the option to buy the bike at a reduced cost.

• The My Tulip Rewards website gives details of discounts available at local gyms, as well as savings that can be made when purchasing gym equipment.

• Subsidised fruit. On the last Friday of each month we provide fruit at a reduced cost for you to purchase from the canteen.

• We take part in events across the group such as the Wolf Run as well as 5-a-side football challenges.

Ask your HR Department or see your noticeboard for more information.

Butchers’ and Drovers’ Charitable Institution (BDCI)The BDCI is the meat industry’s own trade charity. It exists to provide support for those who work, or have previously worked, in the meat industry but have fallen on hard times, regardless of their circumstances. Widows, dependants and children may also be eligible for assistance.

Help is given in two ways:

• One-off grants to help towards a major expense

• Assistance towards fees in a residential or nursing home

As a key employer in the meat industry Tulip can gain access to such support for its employees.

Provisions Trade Charity (PTBI)PTBI are a charity assisting people who have previously worked in the Provision Trade, including meat manufacturing. They help by giving quarterly grants or one off payments to assist with special purchases, home improvements or everyday expenses. In order to be eligible for help, you must:

• Have been employed in the Provision Trade

• Or be the widow/widower of such person

• And have a total residual income less than that laid down by the Trustees

If you, or someone you know, might qualify, please speak to your HR department or contact Alison Nash in confidence on 01208 262 660 or email [email protected]

Money MattersRegular cover costs £10 per month. You can use your health cover to claim back money, towards essential health costs like optician’s fees, dental costs, therapy treatments and diagnostic consultations. We’ve also included access to Scanning Facilities, a 24 hour DoctorLine™ service and an expert second opinion medical service which can help if you, or your family, are diagnosed with a worrying medical condition. You can apply for your partner to have cover too. For more information see www.mytuliprewards.co.uk.

My Tulip RewardsAs an employee you can join our free employee benefits programme My Tulip Rewards where you can make great savings on everyday purchases. See page 6 for how to register and for further details of what can be found on My Tulip Rewards information hub.

Love Food, Hate WasteWe will be launching the Love Food, Hate Waste campaign into Tulip with recipes, ideas and useful hints and tips to help you save money and reduce food waste at home.

Childcare vouchers You can save up to £933 each year with childcare costs through Childcare Vouchers. If you and your partner both work for the company, you can both apply and both make the saving. The scheme now covers childcare for children up to the age of 15. The scheme works by deducting money from your gross pay, which goes directly to your childcare provider. This might be a nursery, child minder or after school club. You save money by paying less tax and National Insurance.

Life skillsIt is our aim during 2016 to be able to provide support to staff on such matters as financial planning & budgeting and improving your life skills, e.g. English. Ask your HR team for further details.

WestfieldWe have teamed up with Westfield Health to offer you an affordable health cash plan which can help you budget essential health costs, as well as provide access to health and wellbeing services for any unexpected health issues.

Tulip runs a staff lottery for both staff to win cash prizes and to raise money for charity. In 2015 the group raised £85,000 for the Make a Wish charity and gave out £15,000 in prizes. Tulip does not make a profit from the lottery.

For 2016, 50% of money raised through My Tulip Lotto will go to Tulip’s chosen charity.

Each draw is open to all permanent, temporary and fixed-term company employees aged 18 or over. Agency and Interim workers are not eligible for draws.

Deductions are taken directly from each entrant’s net pay by the Payroll department at the rate of £1 per week for weekly employees

and £4.33 per month for monthly employees.

Employees with a Tulip login can authorise deductions via the Lotto page in the Self-Service menu on the Intranet.

Full terms and conditions can be found on noticeboards and at www.mytuliprewards.co.uk.

Charity Bake Off

In Warwick and Central, a Macmillan Cancer Coffee Morning was held to support and raise funds for the charity. The team held a Bake off competition and sold lots of mouth-watering and delicious homemade cakes. A ‘Spot the Cake’ competition was held, too.

More than 15 homemade cakes were sold and a fantastic £142 was raised for charity. A great day was had by all with some very serious Bake Off judging, cake tasting and lots of laughter along the way!

Supporting your local and workplace communityWe will be encouraging our sites to get involved in numerous projects that will benefit your communities, giving you the opportunity to give something back to your local area.

Each of our sites will also support a local charity donating 50% of funds raised giving you the opportunity to take part in or organise fund raising events that benefit others.

A team of people from the Bodmin site volunteered their time at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice, building a raised flower bed in memory of a colleague from the sites engineering team.

Case study

Westerleigh staff took residents from a local Brunel care home, which provide respite care for people suffering from different stages of Dementia, to Oakham Treasures near Bristol. The museum is a personal collection of old antiquities from clothing, music, advertising and cars. A great day was had by all.
