Main battery switch – lockable / non lockableThe battery can be isolated from the electrical sys-tem by the main battery switch. This switch is used to secure the vehicle against unauthorised start-up.

Water Heater–Webasto with priority for the cabinThe optional Webasto auxiliary heater is a particu-larly efficient way to ensure a pleasant, comfortable climate. Once activated, the auxiliary heater gene-rates heat in the combustion chamber by burning fuel. Water from the vehicle's cooling system is passed through the heater and is preheated. The unit activates, using a set time, via a display in the cabin. The priority for pre-heating is for the driver's cabin.

This option is recommended for all applications in cold environments.

All crawler dozers are factory-fitted with Liebherr Hydraulic HVI.

Liebherr Hydraulic HVI, Liebherr Hydraulic Basic 100 • The oils have particularly good cleaning properties, enabling dirt to be transported

effectively to the filter. The additives contain high reserves specially tailored to mobile applications

• Liebherr hydraulic oils achieve a lifespan of 6,000 working hours and more. Instead of fixed change intervals regular oil analysis results (every 1,000 working hours or minimum once a year) determine when the oil-change is due

• Liebherr Hydraulic HVI covers most standard applications due to its multi-grade properties

• Liebherr Basic 100 is ideal for tropical use, but should not be used in temperatures significantly below 0 °C

Liebherr Hydraulic Plus / Liebherr Hydraulic Plus Arctic• Biodegradable ** • For use in environmentally sensitive areas• Designed for a long service life,

- Normally 10,000 hours of service - Up to 20,000 hours of service possible in selected applications and with good care

• Reductions in fuel consumption of up to 4.5 % proven in tests compared to a stan-dard hydraulic oil and an ester product

Lubrication – Automatic central lubrication systemBearings on the base machine, drive and equipment are mostly maintenance-free. The optional central lubrication system is an ideal addition for bearings subject to extreme operational stress (e.g. self-aligning bearings, front (lift cylinder) and rear (rear ripper) bearing eyes).

Lubricant is automatically fed at regular intervals to the bearings via the lubrication lines.

This reduces manual maintenance, saves time and increases the reliability of the machine.

U-bladeTechnical description:Hard-faced, wear-resistant surface, Hardox 400

The U blade differs from the semi U blade both due to the larger side parts and in the larger capacity. It is the ideal fitment for demanding work geared to output, such as, moving large quantities over large distances (stockpiling and removal work, moving bulk materials, loading hoppers) and pushing with loaders. However, not suitable for hard and sedimentary materials.

Cutting system attachment, offset cuttingApplication:In the lower area of the blade, sloping cutting edges are screwed on to the left and right, as an option.

Reasoning:This option enables better penetration behaviour, but creates side furrows in the material. The thicker (heavy duty) design provides more wear material, but reduces the penetration charac-teristics of the blade.

Cutting system attachment, straight cuttingApplication:In the lower area of the blade, straight cutting edges are screwed on to the left and right, as an option.

Reasoning:This option is particularly suitable for fine grading as it does not create side furrows. However, in contrast to the sloping cutting edge option, these cutters have notably poorer penetration characte-ristics.

The choice of suitable cutting edges depends on the blade type.Availability

LGP – DriveThis drive is suitable for low ground pressure and manoeuvrability.Areas of applications are low load-bearing soils, such as clay.

Warning: Low ground pressure

FTB (Free Turning Bushings) trackBushing rotates freely regardless of track link. This drive is used mainly with soft, very abrasive materi-als, such as sand and sand-clay mixtures.

Rolling off of track bushing in the sprocket => reduced friction => reduced bushing and sprocket wear. Attention: Not suitable for rocks and stones–> Risk of damage.

Base plates

Available grades of base plates:

MS (Moderate Service)

ES (Extreme Service)

SESS (Super Extreme Service Shoes)

Standard version for less abrasive material (light profile shape)

Optional version with a stronger profile shape (thicker plate with increased web-bing) –> more wear material for abrasiveterrain

Standard version for PR 756 or higher (heavy profiled shape)

High Drive

✔ The sprocket is not in the dirt zone, i.e. less wear on sprocket and bushings

✔ The gearbox seal is above the dirt zone✔ The gearbox has better protection against

shock loads✔ Bogie guide wheels on large crawler dozers

reduce vibrations✘ Higher noise levels due to longer unsupported

track length✘ Increased shaft wear on the track belt due to

extra deflection at the guide wheels✘ Higher centre of gravity✘ More components and therefore greater initial

cost

Low Drive

✔ DThe centre of gravity of the machine is lower – lower tendency to overturn when working on embankments

✔ Lower noise emissions✔ Fewer components => lower initial cost: e.g.,

only 2 guide wheels instead of 4✘ The sprocket is in the dirt zone, i.e. more wear

on sprocket and bushings✘ The gearbox seal is in the dirt zone

=> as a result, double shaft seal used with Liebherr!

✘ With shock loads the gearbox is more exposed

Track tension

Tip: Check the track tension regularly and retighten, if necessary, as the drive wears. A track that is too tight increases build-up of dirt and wear and tear. A too loosely tensioned track can jump and result in damage to the drive train.

Check track tension:1. 1. Machine is in maintenance position2. Have a straight edge ruler ready3. Release load on tracks: Drive the machine forwards and backwards4. Place the ruler in the area between guide wheel and carrier roller
