REACTOR TEST RIG

MODEL: BP 140

THE Reactor Test Rig (Model: BP 140) is a floor standing pilot-plant for students demonstration on the

difference in operating behaviour of various types of reactor (Continous stirred-tank reactor, continuous

stirred-tank reactor in series and plug flow reactor) using a simple reaction (saponification of ethyl

acetate with caustic soda) by comparing the experimental

EXPERIMENTAL CAPABILITES

The typical problems are based on the saponification

of ethyl acetate with caustic soda.

♦ Experimental determination of the ester

decomposition with continuously operated

saponification for all three reactor types.

Comparison with the calculated figures.

♦ Calculation and experimental determination of the

“warming-up time” for the stirred vessel and the

cascade (90% of the static figure).

♦ Determination of the residence time spectrum and

totals curve for all three reactor types.

SPECIFICATIONS
