Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute® and Equinix are offering a combined solution that enables you to create private connections between Azure data centers, Microsoft Office 365, and infrastructure that’s on your premises or in a colocation environment.ExpressRoute connections do not go over the public Internet, and offer more reliability, faster speeds, lower latencies and higher security than typical connections over the open Internet. And with Microsoft Office 365 provide users better performance and reliable secure connections to help drive productivity. Plus, in some cases, using ExpressRoute connections to transfer data between on-premises and Azure can also yield significant cost benefits.
All ExpressRoute customers work with a partner to provide a physical infrastructure connecting their data center to the cloud on Azure. Using Equinix as your access point for ExpressRoute data center enables you to connect directly to Azure in 16 Equinix International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) data centers across five continents.
Seamlessly Extend Your InfrastructureMicrosoft’s physical infrastructure for Azure ExpressRoute resides in Equinix data centers worldwide and is available via the Equinix Cloud Exchange™. The Cloud Exchange is an advanced virtual interconnection solution that offers real-time provisioning, and provides on-demand and direct access to leading cloud providers as well as 100’s of cloud solution providers all through a single port. By connecting to ExpressRoute across Platform Equinix™, companies are able to fully architect their cloud and data center strategies and benefit from full integration between cloud services and internal applications.
The ExpressRoute solution leverages the Equinix Cloud Exchange for secure connectivity and real-time provisioning.
