Greetings, and welcome to our Christmas newsletter. We send our warmest wishes for the Christmas season, and wish you every success in the New Year. We look forward to another year of sharing opportunities with you, and offering our friendly service with a smile.

We hope you will enjoy our feature article on African riding safaris, presented by Giddy Up to Africa. Speaking from a fantastic personal experience, a riding safari in Africa is to be highly recommended for those seeking a different adventure. There is nothing quite like an overnight camp in the open, high on a rock ledge, listening to the sounds of the African bush. Reminiscent of our own Blue Mountains, the scenery of the Mavuradonha wilderness was spectacular, the company great fun, and the experience unforgettable.

By contrast, it is with great sadness that we say Vale, Victory Salute. Sam, as he was affectionately known, holds a special place in my heart. When he was born, I was training with his breeder, Mrs. Carolyn Lieutenant, and I was the first to see the new arrival when conducting a late night check on his Dam. As we all know, life with horses can be so supremely rewarding, yet unpredictable, and sometimes unjust. My deepest sympathy goes to Carolyn, for as we approach the London Olympics, Sam’s loss will be felt deeply by all of his connections, and our Country.

The South African portfolio offers fantastic affordable horse riding holidays and safaris. Nestled in the malaria free Waterberg mountains, just 3 hours north of Johannesburg, these holidays can be enjoyed separately or combined to make a wonderfully varied African horseback vacation. In the Limpopo Valley, Botswana choose from a traditional 7 night Tuli Safari or try the Big Five Safari Ride with 4 nights in South Africa and 4 nights in Limpopo Valley in Mashatu. FLEXINEBA FAST, PORTABLE, REVOLUTIONARY EqUINE NEBULISER DEVICE.

The most frequently occurring lower respiratory tract disorders are Recurrent Airway Obstruction (RAO) also known as Heaves, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD),

Inflammatory Airway Disease (IAD) and Exercise-Induced Pulmonary Haemorrhage (EIPH). Typically, their treatment includes systemic administration of drugs using injections or the oral route, however, AEROSOL THERAPY is now known to be a more specific way to treat respiratory disorders with a better efficacy/toxicity ratio. Nortevs Flexineb is an easy-to-use drug delivery device that produces a very fine mist of aerosolised drug enabling this form of therapy for the horse.

Respiratory problems are frequently implicated in horses as a cause of poor sportive performances.

DRUGS:The Nortev Flexineb system is designed to generate the ideal aerosol particle size of a wide range of drugs including corticosteroids, bronchodilators, saline and antibiotics. The Flexineb system is also adaptable to use MDIs (Metered-Dose inhalers).

CLEANING AND DISINFECTING:Cleaning is easy - simply wash with warm soapy water. Disinfecting is easy too, by using cold sterilisation methods.

VOLUME OF MEDICATION:A standard 10mls medication cup is accommodated. A 20mls extension is provided to facilitate volumes of up to 30mls. No medication remains in the cup after treatment.

COMFORT AND TOLERANCE:Flexineb fits comfortably onto the horse’s nose as a result of the flexible material. An adjustable lever allows full control of the exit valve, enabling the caregiver to bypass the valve for easy breathing or to facilitate inhalation deep into the lungs.

VISIBILITY:The transparent aerosol holding chamber allows the user to see the aerosol mist being generated by the flexineb technology, in conjunction with the horse’s breathing emptying the chamber and receiving the fine particle aerosol.

ACCESSORIES:System accessories include an AC/DC power supply to charge the internal battery, along with a user manual and a convenient storage bag.
