The Carolina Inn, opened in 1901 and dubbed the “Queen of the South” and the “White House of Golf,” has 230 newly renovated guest rooms and lobby. A Mobil Four‐Star/AAA Four‐Diamond hotel, it is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a smoke‐free facility. Built in 1895, The Holly Inn was Pinehurst’s first hotel and is located in the heart of The Village. The Four Diamond Holly features 82 guest rooms and suites each as unique as the hotel itself.

In Remembrance The sympathy of the NCVMA is extended to the family of NCVMA Life Member Dr. William C. Marlatt, 80, who passed away 1/8/2015.
A veterinarian in Garner for 46 years, Dr. Marlatt received his undergraduate degree from Penn State University and his DVM from the University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine. He also served in the US Army.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Marlatt; daughter Kim Marcom (Joe); sons William C. Marlatt, II (Beth Ann); Jeff C. Marlatt (Michelle); four grandchildren and many nieces, great–nieces, nephews, great‐nephews and his Golden Retriever, Josee.
