3.1 IDENTIFY PAIRS OF LINES AND ANGLES

E.Q. What angle pairs are formed by a transversal?

Parallel lines -

Parallel lines – two lines that do not intersect and are coplaner

Skewed lines -two lines that do not intersect and are not coplaner.

Skewed lines -two lines that do not intersect and are not coplaner.

Parallel planes-two planes that do not intersect .

Transversal –a line that intersects two or more coplaner lines at different points.

Corresponding Angles –two or more angles formed by a transversal that are in the corresponding position.

Corresponding Angles –two or more angles formed by a transversal that are in the corresponding position.

Alternate Exterior Angles –two angles that lie outside the two lines and are on opposite sides of the transversal.

Alternate Interior Angles –two angles that lie between the two lines and are on opposite sides of the transversal.

Consecutive Interior Angles –two angles that lie between the two lines and are on same sides of the transversal.

3.2 Parallel Lines and Transversals

E.Q. How are corresponding angles and alternate interior angles related for two lines and a transversal?

All parallel line theorems begin with this postulate.
