• Born and raised on a pig farm

• Agricultural College + Agrar Economist

• Degree in financiel management

• Have travelled around the world

Field Production

o Grain

• 700 ha with grain – barley, wheat, rye, oats.

o Blueberries + potatoes

• 25 ha

o Cattle and grass lands

• 65 ha protected grass land with Hereford cattle herd

Fieldplan 2013 covers 800 ha

Pig Production Today

o 1,000 sows

o We sell 31,000 pigs per year

• 7,000 30 kg pigs

• 24,000 finishers at 105 kg

o Gilt Production to replaces sow herd

2003 Situation

• Baldershave o 350 sows – 50 % full line

o 200 hectares

• Enggaard o 350 sows – 50 % full line

o 150 hectares

Challenges in Denmark?

• Political headwind

• Staff with interest in pig production can be difficult

to find and recruit

• High cost level o Mainly salaries (Union pressure)
