Analidia FloresObjective Seeking an opportunity to become part of a growing university where I may obtain skills that may be utilized to help people in the field of psychology. Also seeking the opportunity of obtaining a Masters in Community Counseling and gaining a position in an organization where my acquired skills may be applied in helping others.

Reflection

My educational endeavor at Argosy University has been outstanding. I was motivated to further my education and straighten my critical thinking skills to better assist others. Many of my professors were active counselors and were able to give me an understanding of what helping others really means. I now understand the meaning and the impact a counselor has on a emotionally distressed person life. I feel that my understanding of the foundation of Psychology has been straighten and the rest is still to be a laid out.

Critical Thinking

The work sample provided for critical thinking, discusses the impact that substance abuse not only has on the abuser, but on the substance abusers family as well. It addressed the effectiveness of Al-Anon and how it helps family members deal with feelings of guilt, shame and anxiety. This sample could be found on the box.net application.

Research Skills

The work sample provided for research skills is a research paper discussing the negative outcome a prefrontal lobotomy had on a person’s intelligence, personality and how they experienced difficulty adjusting to social situations. This sample could be found on the box.net application.

Ethics and Diversity Awareness

The work sample provided for ethics and diversity awareness area discusses the ethical responsibility a counselor has when it comes to having cultural and diversity awareness. It discusses the impact it has on a client when a counselor imposes their own values and culture. This sample could be found on the box.net application.

Oral and Written

The work sample provided for oral and written was dictated to classmates in a Negotiation and Conflict Resolution course. The presentation discussed President Obama negotiation with other countries about the nuclear war. This sample could be found on the box.net application.

Applied Psychology

Interpersonal Effectiveness

The work sample provided for interpersonal effectiveness is a power point presentation about a motivational plan that will be put into action once a person has completed their rehabilitation. This sample could be found on the box.net application.

My Future in Learning

As a life long learner, I envision myself learning new ideas and concepts everyday. Each person that I come across is different and has something to teach me. Every day is a different day and new tactics must be learned to survive the up coming day. It is very important to always have an open mind if we want to grow as a person and as a professional.
