Streamlining the Client’s implementation processes to drive quality and efficiency.
IssueA Client was in the process of implementing the Oracle Hyperion suite of products, including Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
The Client’s implementation team faced resource restrictions, leaving the team short-staffed and inexperienced. The team was concerned that they would not meet implementation deadlines.
PwC ActionPwC Hyperion specialists conducted procedures to understand the Client’s current implementation state, and desired timeline.
An EPM Assurance Associate with in-depth knowledge of HFM, PwC audit requirements and control principles joint the Client’s implementation team as a staff augmentation.
ImpactThe implementation team was supported by the PwC resource who served as an extension of their team through go-live. PwC provided the company with:

IssueA Client intended to change a considerable amount of HFM system elements, including account/entity hierarchies and the business rules. The Client did not have a resource that was confident in their ability to execute such complex changes.
The Client contacted implementation firms, but each response did not align with the Client’s intended timeframe. The Client needed a quick turnaround, and needed to find an HFM Admin with the proper skillset in time to generate complete and accurate financial reports.
PwC ActionWith a strong Internal Audit presence, PwC was position well to assist the Client. Connections were made that resulted in a cross-los engagement. An EPM Assurance Manager, and Experienced Associate quickly acclimated to the Client’s HFM enviroment, and played a crucial role to help Management implement changes in a complete and accurate manner.
ImpactThe Client met the required timeframe and reporting goals. PwC was able to:
Create new business rules to roll-over prior year balances into the current period.
Update existing business rules to allow for new allocation methods as required by the business.
Perform each requested metadata change while enhancing change management procedures.
Continue to serve as the subject matter experts and the HFM Administrator for the Client.
