The Future is Not Set in Stone

FOUR MONTHS LATER…

(Dead bodies are strewn around Sako)

(He stands up and looks at Kenji)

(Kenji points the Aires Gun at Sako)

Sako: How has it come to this Kenji?

(He looks at Hiro, Jet and Takeshi lying motionless next to him)

Kenji: Sako, Sako, Sako… Stalling will not help you!

Sako: I’m dead anyway!

Kenji: That’s right you are!

(Kenji pulls the trigger) (A blue ray of light hits Sako)

(Sako screams and falls to the floor)

(Kenji steps over Sako’s dead body)

(He turns around and looks at Sako’s body)

(He closes his eyes)

(Kenji’s phone rings)

Phone conversation:

“Congratulations, you have not failed us Kenji!”

“Thank you”

“Your actions today mean we have taken a significant step forward in our operation!

The Aires Gun is a complete success, we now can conduct operations to eliminate

superhumans worldwide! I will report back to number one and tell him what a good

job you have done!”

“Thank you, send my regards to number one”

(The phone calls ends) (Kenji looks at Sako)

ONE DAY LATER…

VAUXHALL CROSS, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM…

TEENAGE LEAGUE HEADQUARTERS…

[In the Lounge…]

(Takuma sits with Aaron in silence)

(Aaron looks at Takuma)

Aaron: How did we not see this coming? They are all dead! We could not protect

them and now they are all dead!

Takuma: Don’t Aaron!

Aaron: Now there is a weapon that can reverse our invulnerability and kill us!

Takuma: AARON, I DO NOT HAVE THE ANSWERS! I AM AS ANGRY, HURT AND IN

PAIN AS YOU ARE! WE’VE LOST FRIENDS! WE’VE LOST MORE THAN FRIENDS!

WE’VE LOST FAMILY! SAKO! HIRO! FUJIWARA! EMMA! TAKESHI! JET! WE LOST

THEM!

(Anthony walks into the Lounge)

Anthony: I know one thing for sure!

(Takuma stops shouting)

Anthony: They wouldn’t want us to argue like this!

(Tears fall down his cheek)

Takuma: I just want to save them!!

(Time goes slowly)

Takuma: I just want to save them!!

Takuma: I just want to save them!!

Takuma: I just want to save them!!

(Everything goes black)

PRESENT DAY! 22:30 GMT (London) / 06:30 GMT+9 (Tokyo)

TEENAGE LEAGUE HEADQUARTERS, LONDON. UNITED KINGDOM!

(Aaron shakes Takuma)

Aaron: Takuma wake up!

(Takuma wakes up)

Aaron: Takuma, we just got an Emergency Code 1!

(Takuma jumps out of bed)

Aaron: COME ON TAKUMA!

(They get up and run out of Takuma’s bedroom)

[In the Lounge…]

(Takuma and Aaron run into the room) (Anthony and Sako point at the TV)

Anthony: You are just in time!

Sako: Black Star have released a video on the internet!

(Video plays) (Kenji appears on the screen)

Sako: Kenji!

Anthony: Oh Kenji, what have you done now?

(Takuma looks at Anthony)

Kenji: This evening… In Shinjuku, a young man was killed! His name was Fujiwara

Cheung! He was also a superhuman and part of a growing network of people with

extraordinary abilities. Black Star claims responsibility for his death! These

people walk among us day by day, they pose a significant threat to our way of

life!

(He pauses)

Fujiwara’s death was the first and it won’t be the last! From this moment on we

have declared war against the Weather Team! You have nowhere to run,

nowhere to hide… We will find you and we will kill you!

(Video stops)

(Video restarts) (Kenji starts speaking again)

Stay tuned tomorrow, I guarantee you won’t want to miss it!

(Screen turns off)

Aaron: That was released by black star ten minutes ago!

(Takuma sits down on the sofa slowly)

Sako: What’s wrong?

Takuma: Remember the missile strike on here two years ago Aaron?

Aaron: How could I forget?

FLASHBACK – TEENAGE LEAGUE: EPISODE 9 – “THE GREATER GOOD”

[Late at Takuma’s House ….]

02:20 – Takuma’s bedroom

(Takuma is on his laptop) (His bedroom door opens)

(He looks towards the door)

Takuma: Ok mum, I’m shutting it down!

(The door closes) (He walks over to his bed)

Takuma: These headaches!!

(He opens his bedside draw) (He takes out Paracetamol)

Takuma: I don’t feel so …

(Takuma blacks out and has his first vision of the future)

(His eyes turn white)

TAKUMA’S VISION – 20TH November 2007

[Vauxhall Cross – Teenage League Headquarters…]

(Takuma lands in the Thames)

Takuma: Eurgh my feet are wet!!

(He looks down)

Takuma: I am in the Thames!

(He walks onto the rocky surface)

[At Teenage League Headquarters….]

(Daniel is on the treadmill) (He looks out the window)

(He jumps off the treadmill) (He lifts his watch to his mouth)

Daniel: CODE RED, THIS IS LEVEL FIVE! INCOMING PROJECTILE HEADING TOWARDS

BASE! ETA 10 SECONDS, MAYDAY MAYD….

[Below by the Thames….]

Takuma: That’s a missile about to hit base!! Everyone will be … Oh my god!

(The missile hits the Gym)

[Inside Teenage League Base….]

(Daniel gets thrown back from the explosion)

(Masonry patters)

FLASHBACK TO VOLUME….

Takuma: I never told you but I saw that coming!

Aaron: What do you mean? You saw that coming?

Takuma: I can see into the future! One of my powers is precognition!

Anthony: I’m not liking the sound of this!

Takuma: I had a vision, right before Aaron woke me up! It wasn’t good for any of

us!

(Takuma rubs his eyes)

Sako: Takuma, what did you see!

Aaron: Takuma, you’ve gone pale! What’s wrong? What did you see?

Takuma: I can’t tell you! If tell you and then you do something to change the

outcome, it changes the future! The future is not set in stone, everything will go

to shit! All I can say is we have to be prepared for what’s coming! Because we are

no longer untouchable! We can be killed, if we do not take the treat from Black

Star seriously... It will be the end of us!

(Anthony looks at Sako)

22:45 GMT (London) / 06:45 GMT+9 (Tokyo)

AKI YAMAMOTO AND ANDREW SUMURA’S FLAT: SHINJUKU, TOKYO, JAPAN.

(Aki and Andrew are sleeping)

(Glass smashes)

(Andrew wakes up)

Andrew: AKI! We need to go now!!

(He shakes Aki) (Aki wakes up)

Aki: What’s happening!

(Kenji walks into their bedroom)

(Andrew clutches Aki)

Andrew: Before you do anything! KILL ME NOT HER!

(Kenji reaches for his pocket) (He pulls out an Aries Gun)

(Time goes slowly)

Kenji: I WILL KILL YOU! SHE’LL WATCH YOU DIE PAINFULLY! THEN I’LL KILL HER!

(Andrew looks at Aki) (She nods at Andrew)

(Andrew starts to vibrate) (The walls and windows start to shake)

(Kenji looks at Andrew) (Andrew starts to glow)

(The flat walls starts to crack) (Kenji runs out the room)

(Andrew looks at Aki) (Tears fall down Aki’s cheek) (She mouths “I love you”)

(Andrew squints) (The ceiling caves on top of them)

[Outside on the street…]

(People start to run for cover) (The building starts to crumble)

(Kenji stumbles out of the entrance)

(He spots a mother with a pram frozen on the spot)

Kenji: RUN!

(He runs towards her)

(She doesn’t respond)

Kenji: GRAB YOUR CHILD AND RUN! THIS BUILDING WILL COLLAPSE!!

[In the Lounge…]

(Alarms ring out over the base)

Aaron: That’s the Code 1 alarm again!

(Takuma’s head drops)

(Aaron looks at Takuma)

Aaron: You know what is it don’t you?

(Takuma doesn’t answer)

Aaron: IS IT EMMA TAKUMA?

Sako: Takuma, what is it?

Takuma: I don’t know what this is but after Fujiwara dying and Black Star’s

message it cannot be good news can it!

(The screen changes)

Sako: Andrew and Aki! I must return to Tokyo at once! They are all in danger, we

are being attacked one by one!

Anthony: I am coming with you!

Sako: Yuji, Jet, Hiro, Takeshi, Tanaka, Akira they are all at risk!

Takuma: They are connected to Firecrest! I can send them a message to warn

them!

(Sako and Anthony run to the pods) (Takuma takes his phone out of his pocket)

(He dials a number)

Yuji: Hello?

Takuma: Yuji, it’s begun!
