Team Roles
Project Manager - manages overall team and team meetings, monitors progress of the project(s)
Design Lead- lead individual project and development of the design, project documentation and delivery
Project Archivist– accountable for timelines, project and design documentation
Project Partner Liaison - manage communications with project partner
Webmaster - maintains the team’s web page
Financial Officer – Manages team budget
Everyone does NOT have a specific role
New students can take on roles
Grading Simulates industry performance appraisals
Set team goals through the semester plan
Individual responsibilities set by week 4 with advisor – agreement on expectations
Checked at week 4, 8 (12) and 16
Grade yourself
Point to evidence to support that grade Highlight accomplishments and point to documentation
Most Common Grade in EPICS is an A
A’s are earned, NOT just given for showing up
General Grading guidelinesA = Excellence in work completed and documented
B = Good achievement in work completed and documented
C = Adequate achievement in work completed and documented
D = Inadequate achievement in work completed and documented
F = Fails to meet minimum achievement in work completed and documented.
For accomplishments and outcomes that are appropriate for course level and number of credits
Grading – Learn by Doing Individual grade reflects the quality and
quantity of the student’s documented
accomplishments and learning, and
team’s accomplishments.
Juniors and Seniors must show excellence
and initiative for an A – DO NOT have to be a
project leader
First-year & sophomores, can get an A
following and meeting expectations with
excellence, but NOT JUST SHOWING UP
