    1. The Hellenistic heritage in Trajanic architecture

    According to the traditional view, Roman architecture was born in Republican Italy,co n s eq u e n tl y de v e lo p e d i n Imp e r ia l Ro me an d f i n a ll y s p re a d t h r o ug h o u t t h e pr o vi n ce s o f t h e

    A predecessor of the Trajanic basilica in Rome is the Augustan forum basilica fromEphesos (which was called stoa in the Greek version of the building inscription and basilica in

The Trajanic HQ (Fig. 6/2A) had 5rooms on the backside, three main ones and two smaller side rooms, which were not necessary accessible from the basilica.
