Eothen’s approachEothen is a registered charity foundedon Christian principles and we areproud of our heritage. Because of ourvalues we treat everyone withcompassion, in an environment wherephysical, emotional, spiritual and socialneeds are met.
Our reputation is important to us and thepositive word of mouth recommendationsthat we receive reflect that we genuinelycare, continually invest in our teammembers’ professional development andwork collaboratively with other careprofessionals.
We know how important continuity of careis and our low staff turnover allows ourresidents and carers to get to know eachother very well. Our care team isexperienced, dedicated and skilled, providing a personal touch that ourresidents and their families truly value.
Residents’ needs are of the utmostimportance to us and the team at Eothenstrives to provide the very best lifestylebased on each person’s abilities, interestsand background. Our carers offer support, compassion and a listening ear, no matterwhat time of day or night.
Working togetherAt Eothen everyone is an extendedmember of the family, where flexiblecare is tailored to the individual andpeople can enjoy life in a traditional andhomely atmosphere.
Our aim is to provide a home away fromhome for our residents and we encourageeveryone to bring some of their ownfurniture and personal possessions whenthey come to live with us, so they aresurrounded by familiar things.
While ensuring a thriving communityenvironment and the opportunity to enjoyChristian fellowship, residents can alsoenjoy private, personal living spaces shouldthey prefer a more independent way oflife.
We pride ourselves on our collaborativeapproach, talking to our residents andtheir families in order to create the verybest plan of care to meet each person’sneeds. This is an ongoing conversation thatinvolves everyone, including GPs and otherhealthcare professionals which ensureseach individual’s wellbeing.
As there are no fixed visiting hours, friendsand family are welcome to visit their lovedones whenever they wish.
“My family can visit at any time.”

Homes and facilities
Eothen homes are set in attractive andspacious gardens and are anything butisolated. Our locations are carefullychosen so they are close to shops, restaurants and leisure facilitiesallowing residents used to leading anactive life to continue in this way.
We have a programme of continualinvestment in our facilities to ensure theyremain not just fit for purpose but highlywelcoming too. Our values are traditionaland our residents live in surroundings thatare warm, inviting and equipped witheverything they need.
Telephones, internet and newspapers areavailable for residents to use wheneverthey wish, and we organise visits fromhairdressers, health specialists and otherservices when residents require them.
An important part of the Eothenphilosophy is our community involvement. We run regular reminiscence, art and craftsessions as well as daily group andindividual activities, inviting schools andother members of the community to thehomes to interact with residents. It is afriendly, busy environment whereresidents can make new friends, find newinterests or continue with the hobbies andpastimes they have always enjoyed. Thatsaid, taking part is not compulsory. We talkto residents and act on their feedback toorganise the kind of events, outings andactivities they want to take part in,grounded in our Christian Fellowshipethos.
Nutrition and wellbeing
Residents’ nutrition is top of ouragenda, ensuring everyone hasnutritious, home cooked food with thekind of meals they enjoy, which is soimportant in maintaining their physicalhealth.
Meals are personally prepared forresidents from quality ingredients, takinginto account their preferences and anydietary or medical requirements. Residentscan enjoy the communal atmosphere ofthe dining room, where they can chat tofriends and staff, or eat in their own roomsif they prefer.
Wellbeing is so much more than a healthybody and our sessions with staff andmembers of the community are designedto stimulate residents physically andmentally, provide them with new interestsand the opportunity to share thoughts andideas.
