eOffice in West Bengal

Government of West Bengal has decided to start

eOffice in the Secretariat as a top priority project and

successfully been implemented in all 50 Secretariat

Departments since 01.01.2018 as a core

implementation roll out in West Bengal.

A high level committee has been formed headed by

the Chief Secretary to steer the implementation.

IT&E Department entrusted as a Nodal Dept. to

rollout eOffice in Government of West Bengal.

Presently West Bengal ranked 3rd Position in the

country after Andhra Pradesh & Kerala among all the

state secretariats.

Training & Help Desk Support:

Help Desk Setup: A team of 6 technical professionals (QRT, NIC-WB) are deployed to provide back end

support for handling transfer, posting, user creation, environment creation etc. and providing support

to all the Depts./ Directorates and Districts of Govt. of West Bengal during office hours.

SSP Support: One Software Support Personal are recruited for each depts. & trained by NIC,WB for

day-to-day handholding support. They provide detail training with all advanced features and conduct

department level training on a periodic basis to make all staff up-to-date about eOffice.

Training: Rigorous training has been provided to all the master trainers of all the

Depts/Directorates/Districts by NIC,WB to on board each and every employee of Govt. Of West Bengal.

Infrastructure Analysis :

eOffice Hosting: eOffice hosted at Highly equipped State Data Centre cloud

server. Recently it has been migrated to SDC-2.0 platform with revamped Data

Centre using Redhat Virtualization Platform and 120TB All Flash SAN Storage

system.

Accessibility: Since its introduction, eOffice application could be accessed over

only in Govt. network like WBSWAN or NICNET. Now to further increase the ease

of access to eOffice after it has been migrated to the highly equipped new SDC

environment, Govt. Of West Bengal decided that eOffice has been made

available and accessible over open internet of any Internet Service Provider(ISP)

from 15.04.2019. Accordingly, all eOffice users can now access on any internet

browser over any network of any ISP on their computers and even in smart

phones, Tabs etc.
