Dear EOF Scholars,

e are very happy to see you back on campus these first few weeks of the

Spring term, and hope you had some time to rest and relax with friends and family over the winter break. Some of you took winter courses and we applaud your com-mitment, and excellent grades! T he EOF Stu-dent Alliance Kick-Off was

on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2017, following the EOF Welcome Back Reception. We had 3 stu-

dents in attendance. During our meeting we discussed the Tricky Tray fund-

raiser and the upcoming college visit. They deter-

mined the best time to meet is Tuesdays at 11:00-12:00, to ac-commodate most officers sched-ules. Future meeting dates will be: 2/6, 2/20, 3/6, 3/20, 4/3, and 4/17, 5/1, and 5/17 will be the end of the year luncheon, 12 noon-1:30.

Students staffed the EOF table at the Campus Life Club and Organization Fair on Jan. 30, suppling pop-corn, EOF information, and getting sign-ups for the Alliance. Thank you to all who participated!

We received many inquiries about EOF and the Alliance.

Teddy Bear Donations Table at the Teddy Bear Facto-

ry in the SCC lobby was Tuesday, Feb.

13, where students collected donations of newly stuffed ani-

mals that will be given to children at the Goryeb Children’s Hospital. Thanks to all who participated. We got 12 bears! Also, check out our Facebook page as Muham-mad was featured on Facebook Live discussing the Alliance!

Please consider donat-ing a new item, such as a candle, bath & body set, or requesting area businesses to donate a gift card or service for the Annual EOF Tricky Tray fund-raiser. This is our big fundraiser to help supply our funds for student book loans, emergency loans,

honor society fees and more! All donations must be new in original wrapping. When asking local mer-chants for donations, bring the Merchant Letter with you which explains the EOF Program and how these funds are used. Be an ambassador for EOF! Most busi-nesses are happy to give some-thing. Examples: Hair Salons do-nating a certificate for a hair ser-vice, accountants have donated a tax prep service, and Starbucks has donated a mug and gift card.
