1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8

years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervision orinstruction concerning use of the appliance in a safeway and understand the hazards involved.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Keep all packaging away from children.• Keep children and pets away from the appliance when

it operates or when it cools down. Accessible parts arehot.

• If the appliance has a child safety device, werecommend you activate it.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made bychildren without supervision.

• Children of less than 3 years should be kept awayunless continuously supervised.

1.2 General Safety• Only a qualified person must install this appliance and

replace the cable.• Internally the appliance becomes hot when in

operation. Do not touch the heating elements that arein the appliance. Always use oven gloves to remove orput in accessories or ovenware.

• Before maintenance cut the power supply.• Ensure that the appliance is switched off before

replacing the lamp to avoid the possibility of electricshock.

• Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.• Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal

scrapers to clean the glass door since they can

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced bythe manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre orsimilarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• To remove the shelf supports first pull the front of theshelf support and then the rear end away from theside walls. Install the shelf supports in the oppositesequence.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS2.1 Installation

WARNING!Only a qualified person mustinstall this appliance.

• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged

appliance.• Obey the installation instruction

supplied with the appliance.• Always be careful when you move the

appliance because it is heavy. Alwayswear safety gloves.

• Do not pull the appliance by thehandle.

• Keep the minimum distance from theother appliances and units.

• Make sure that the appliance isinstalled below and adjacent safestructures.

• The sides of the appliance must stayadjacent to appliances or to units withthe same height.

2.2 Electrical connectionWARNING!Risk of fire and electricalshock.

• All electrical connections should bemade by a qualified electrician.

• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the electrical

information on the rating plate agreeswith the power supply. If not, contactan electrician.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug and to the mainscable. Should the mains cable need tobe replaced, this must be carried outby our Authorised Service Centre.

• Do not let mains cables touch orcome near the appliance door,especially when the door is hot.

• The shock protection of live andinsulated parts must be fastened insuch a way that it cannot be removedwithout tools.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of theinstallation. Make sure that there isaccess to the mains plug after theinstallation.

• If the mains socket is loose, do notconnect the mains plug.

• Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

• Use only correct isolation devices: lineprotecting cut-outs, fuses (screw typefuses removed from the holder), earthleakage trips and contactors.

• The electrical installation must havean isolation device which lets youdisconnect the appliance from themains at all poles. The isolationdevice must have a contact openingwidth of minimum 3 mm.

• This appliance complies with theE.E.C. Directives.

2.3 UseWARNING!Risk of injury, burns andelectrical shock or explosion.

• Use this appliance in a householdonly.

• Do not change the specification of thisappliance.

• Make sure that the ventilationopenings are not blocked.

• Do not let the appliance stayunattended during operation.

• Deactivate the appliance after eachuse.

• Be careful when you open theappliance door while the appliance isin operation. Hot air can release.

• Do not operate the appliance with wethands or when it has contact withwater.

• Do not apply pressure on the opendoor.

• Do not use the appliance as a worksurface or as a storage surface.

• Open the appliance door carefully.The use of ingredients with alcoholcan cause a mixture of alcohol andair.

• Do not let sparks or open flames tocome in contact with the appliancewhen you open the door.

• Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.

• To prevent damage or discoloration tothe enamel:– do not put ovenware or other

objects in the appliance directlyon the bottom.

– do not put aluminium foil directlyon the bottom of the appliance.

– do not keep moist dishes andfood in the appliance after youfinish the cooking.

– be careful when you remove orinstall the accessories.

• Discoloration of the enamel has noeffect on the performance of theappliance. It is not a defect in thesense of the warranty law.

• Use a deep pan for moist cakes. Fruitjuices cause stains that can bepermanent.

• This appliance is for cookingpurposes only. It must not be used forother purposes, for example roomheating.

• Always cook with the oven doorclosed.

• If the appliance is installed behind afurniture panel (e.g. a door) makesure the door is never closed whenthe appliance is in operation. Heatand moisture can build up behind aclosed furniture panel and causesubsequent damage to the appliance,the housing unit or the floor. Do notclose the furniture panel until theappliance has cooled downcompletely after use.

2.4 Care and cleaningWARNING!Risk of injury, fire, ordamage to the appliance.

• Before maintenance, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mainsplug from the mains socket.

• Make sure the appliance is cold.There is the risk that the glass panelscan break.

• Replace immediately the door glasspanels when they are damaged.Contact the Authorised ServiceCentre.

• Be careful when you remove the doorfrom the appliance. The door isheavy!

• Clean regularly the appliance toprevent the deterioration of thesurface material.

• Remaining fat or food in the appliancecan cause fire.

• Clean the appliance with a moist softcloth. Only use neutral detergents. Donot use abrasive products, abrasivecleaning pads, solvents or metalobjects.

• If you use an oven spray, obey thesafety instructions on the packaging.

• Do not clean the catalytic enamel (ifapplicable) with any kind of detergent.

2.5 Internal light• The type of light bulb or halogen lamp

used for this appliance is only forhousehold appliances. Do not use itfor house lighting.

WARNING!Risk of electrical shock.

• Before replacing the lamp, disconnectthe appliance from the power supply.

• Only use lamps with the samespecifications.

2.6 DisposalWARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.

• Disconnect the appliance from themains supply.

• Cut off the mains cable and discard it.• Remove the door catch to prevent

children and pets to get closed in theappliance.

2.7 Service• To repair the appliance contact an

Authorised Service Centre.• Use original spare parts only.

4. BEFORE FIRST USEWARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

4.1 Initial CleaningRemove all accessories and removableshelf supports from the appliance.

Refer to "Care and cleaning"chapter.

Clean the appliance before first use.Put the accessories and the removableshelf supports back to their initialposition.

4.2 Setting the timeYou must set the time before youoperate the oven.The indicator for the Time of day functionflashes when you connect the appliance

to the electrical supply, when there was apower cut or when the timer is not set.

Press the or button to set thecorrect time.After approximately five seconds, theflashing stops and the display shows thetime of day you set.

4.3 Changing the timeYou cannot change the timeof day if the Duration orEnd function operates.

Press again and again until theindicator for the Time of Day functionflashes.To set a new time, refer to "Setting thetime".

5. DAILY USEWARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

5.1 Retractable knobsTo use the appliance, press the controlknob. The control knob comes out.

5.2 Activating and deactivatingthe appliance

It depends on the model ifyour appliance has knobsymbols, indicators orlamps:• The indicator comes on

when the oven heats up.• The lamp comes on when

the appliance operates.• The symbol shows

whether the knob controlsthe oven functions or thetemperature.

1. Turn the knob for the oven functionsto select an oven function.

2. Turn the knob for the temperature toselect a temperature.

3. To deactivate the appliance turn theknobs for the oven functions andtemperature to the off position.

5.3 Oven functions

Oven function ApplicationOff position The appliance is off.

Light To activate the lamp without a cooking function.

True Fan Cook‐ing

To bake on up to 3 shelf positions at the same timeand to dry food. Set the temperature 20 - 40 °C low‐er than for Top / Bottom Heat.

Pizza Setting To bake food on 1 shelf position for a more inten‐sive browning and a crispy bottom. Set the tempera‐ture 20 - 40 °C lower than for Top / Bottom Heat.

Top / BottomHeat

To bake and roast food on 1 shelf position.

Bottom Heat To bake cakes with crispy bottom and to preservefood.

Defrost To defrost frozen food.

Grilling To grill flat food and to toast bread.

Fast Grilling To grill flat food in large quantities and to toastbread.

Turbo Grilling To roast larger meat joints or poultry with bones on1 shelf position. Also to make gratins and to brown.

6. CLOCK FUNCTIONS6.1 Clock functions table

Clock function ApplicationTime of day To set, change or check the time of day.

Minute Minder To set countdown time. This function has no effect on theoperation of the appliance.

Duration To set the cooking time of the oven.

End To set the time of day when the oven should deactivate.

You can use the functionsDuration and End atthe same time to set the timefor how long the applianceshould operate and whenthe appliance shoulddeactivate. This lets youactivate the appliance with adelay in time. First set theDuration and then theEnd .

6.2 Setting the clock functionsFor Duration and End , set anoven function and temperature ofcooking. This is not necessary for theMinute Minder .

1. Press again and again until theindicator for the necessary clockfunction starts to flash.

2. Press or to set the time for thenecessary clock function.

The clock function operates. The displayshows the indicator for the clock functionyou set.

For the Minute Minderfunction the display showsthe time left.

3. When the time ends the indicator ofthe clock function flashes and anacoustic signal sounds. Press abutton to stop the signal.

4. Turn the knob for the oven functionsand the knob for the temperature tothe off position.

With the Duration andEnd functions, theappliance deactivatesautomatically.

6.3 Cancelling the clockfunctions1. Press the again and again until

the necessary function indicatorflashes.

2. Press and hold .

The clock function goes out after someseconds.

7. USING THE ACCESSORIESWARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

7.1 Inserting the accessoriesWire shelf:Push the shelf between the guide bars ofthe shelf support and make sure that thefeet point down.

Deep pan:Push the deep pan between the guidebars of the shelf support.

Wire shelf and the deep pan together:Push the deep pan between the guidebars of the shelf support and the wireshelf on the guide bars above.

• All accessories havesmall indentations at thetop of the right and leftside to increase safety.The indentations are alsoanti-tip devices.

• The high rim around theshelf is a device whichprevents cookware fromslipping.

8. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS8.1 Cooling fanWhen the appliance operates, thecooling fan activates automatically tokeep the surfaces of the appliance cool.

If you deactivate the appliance, thecooling fan can continue to operate untilthe appliance cools down.

9. HINTS AND TIPSWARNING!Refer to Safety chapters.

The temperature and bakingtimes in the tables areguidelines only. Theydepend on the recipes andthe quality and quantity ofthe ingredients used.

9.1 Inner side of the doorIn some models, on the inner side ofthe door you can find:• the numbers of the shelf positions.• information about the oven functions,

recommended shelf positions andtemperatures for typical dishes.

9.2 Baking• Your oven can bake or roast

differently to the appliance you hadbefore. Adapt your usual settings(temperature, cooking times) and

shelf positions to the values in thetables.

• The manufacturer recommends thatyou use the lower temperature thefirst time.

• If you cannot find the settings for aspecial recipe, look for the one that isalmost the same.

• You can extend baking times by 10 –15 minutes if you bake cakes on morethan one shelf position.

• Cakes and pastries at differentheights do not always brown equallyat first. If this occurs, do not changethe temperature setting. Thedifferences equalize during the bakingprocedure.

• With longer baking times, you candeactivate the oven approximately 10minutes before the end of the bakingtime and then use the residual heat.

When you cook frozen food, the trays inthe oven can twist during baking. Whenthe trays become cold again, thedistortions are gone.

9.3 Tips on baking

9.8 Roasting• Use heat-resistant ovenware to roast

(refer to the instructions of themanufacturer).

• You can roast large roasting jointsdirectly in the deep pan (if present) oron the wire shelf above the deep pan.

• Roast lean meats in the roasting tinwith the lid. This keeps the meat moresucculent.

• All types of meat that can be brownedor have crackling can be roasted inthe roasting tin without the lid.

• We recommend that you cook meatand fish weighing 1 kg and above inthe appliance.

• To prevent the meat juices or fat fromburning onto the pan, put some liquidinto the deep pan.

• If necessary, turn the roast (after 1/2 -2/3 of the cooking time).

• Baste large roasts and poultry withtheir juices several times duringroasting. This gives better roastingresults.

• You can deactivate the applianceapproximately 10 minutes before theend of the roasting time, and use theresidual heat.

10.1 Notes on cleaning• Clean the front of the appliance with a

soft cloth with warm water and acleaning agent.

• To clean metal surfaces, use a usualcleaning agent.

• Clean the appliance interior after eachuse. Fat accumulation or other foodremains may result in a fire. The riskis higher for the grill pan.

• Clean stubborn dirt with a specialoven cleaner.

• Clean all accessories after each useand let them dry. Use a soft cloth withwarm water and a cleaning agent.

• If you have nonstick accessories, donot clean them using aggressiveagents, sharp-edged objects or adishwasher. It can cause damage tothe nonstick coating.

10.2 Removing the shelfsupportsTo clean the oven, remove the shelfsupports.1. Pull the front of the shelf support

away from the side wall.

2. Pull the rear end of the shelf supportaway from the side wall and removeit.

Install the shelf supports in the oppositesequence.

10.3 Oven ceilingWARNING!Deactivate the appliancebefore you remove theheating element. Make surethat the appliance is cold.There is a risk of burns.

Remove the shelf supports.You can fold down the heating elementon the oven ceiling to clean the ovenceiling easily.1. Hold the heating element with two

hands at the front.2. Pull it forwards against the spring

pressure and out along the supportson the two sides.

The heating element folds down.3. Clean the oven ceiling.4. Install the heating element in the

opposite sequence.Install the heating elementcorrectly above the supportson the inner walls of theappliance.

5. Install the shelf supports.

10.4 Removing and installingthe doorYou can remove the door and theinternal glass panels to clean it. Thenumber of glass panels is different fordifferent models.

WARNING!Be careful when you removethe door from the appliance.The door is heavy.

1. Open the door fully.2. Fully press the clamping levers (A)

on the two door hinges.

3. Close the oven door to the firstopening position (approximately 70°angle).

4. Hold the door with one hand on eachside and pull it away from theappliance at an upwards angle.

5. Put the door with the outer side downon a soft cloth on a stable surface.This is to prevent scratches.

6. Hold the door trim (B) on the topedge of the door at the two sides andpush inwards to release the clip seal.

7. Pull the door trim to the front toremove it.

8. Hold the door glass panels on theirtop edge one by one and pull themup out of the guide.

9. Clean the glass panel with water andsoap. Dry the glass panel carefully.

When the cleaning is completed, installthe glass panels and the door. Do theabove steps in the opposite sequence.Install the smaller panel first, then thelarger.

10.5 Replacing the lampPut a cloth on the bottom of the interiorof the appliance. It prevents damage tothe lamp glass cover and the cavity.

WARNING!Danger of electrocution!Disconnect the fuse beforeyou replace the lamp.The lamp and the lamp glasscover can be hot.

1. Deactivate the appliance.2. Remove the fuses from the fuse box

or deactivate the circuit breaker.
