X20 User Guide

Recently, xDuoo launched the new player X20. The product is fully functional a

nd causes confusions or unnecessary problems for users. So we sorted out proble

ms that may be encountered in the use of products and the process of using them

. If there is any other question, please let us know and we'd love to help you out. 

The following is our instruction： 1. Connect the Headphone

1.1. The X20 has PHONE (3.5mm headphone), BALANCE (2.5mm balanced

earphone). The following is the connection method:

* Note: 2.5mm balanced headphone plug can be transferred into 3.5mm headphone plug and be inserted into the PHONE port, but the 3.5 headphone plug can’t be connected to 2.5mm

balanced headphone.

1.2. The X20 PHONE (3.5mm port) supports CTIA standard (International

Standard) with microphone / wire controlled headphone. It can line control

Play/Pause/Change songs, (volume can't be adjusted, microphone doesn't work).

The connection is as follows.

*note: if your headphone with microphone / wire control is OMTP standard, there will be distortion and crosstalk.for that, you can use CTIA to OMTP cable to solve.

2. LINE OUT Connection

LINE OUT/COAXIAL port is multi usage port, as LINE OUT (analog audio

source after decoding, the output can be connected to "AUX IN" or "LINE IN"

line input amplifier), the following are setting and connection method:

2.1 Setting: in the music setting, the output setting is set to “ ", as the

following picture shows

2.2 Connection Method：General the amplifier line input ("AUX IN" / "LINE IN") include two kinds, one

with 3.5 headset and the other with RCA input port. 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio line

or 3.5mm to RCA audio line is required.

Connect one end of the 3.5mm to an X20 LINE OUT, the other end to the power

amplifier AUX IN/LINE IN. Setting the amplifier is AUX IN (if necessary), and

then let the X20 play music. The music could be heard after the speaker /

headset connected to amplifier. The volume can be adjusted through power

amplifier / Amp. LINE OUT of X20 is set as the highest output volume, the

following are setting and connection method

3. Connection Coaxial Output

As the coaxial output (X20 output coaxial signal, as a digital turntable, can be

connected to "COAXIAL IN" or "SPDIF IN" coaxial input decoding amp /

amplifier), the following are setting and connection method:

3.1 In the music setting, Set the output to "SP", which is illustrated as follows

3.2. Coaxial output can output DSD audio (DOP mode), maximum is DSD64. It

will be automatically converted to PCM output when it beyond DSD64. If your

coaxial DAC supports DSD decoding, set the X20 coaxial output to DOP, if not,

set the X20 coaxial output to D2P, as shown below:

3.3. In general, coaxial input port of any decoder ("COAXIAL IN") is with

3.5mm or RCA input port. 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable or 3.5mm to RCA cable is

required. Connect one end of the 3.5mm to the X20 COAXIAL OUT, the other

end to the coaxial input port. Setting your DAC is COAXIAL IN input (if

necessary). Let the X20 play music. The music could be heard after the your

DAC connected to headsets/ active speaker. The volume can be adjusted by

adjust amplifier. COAXIAL OUT of X20 is set as the highest output volume, as

shown below

4. Output USB Audio

X20 USB has many functions, the following are setting to output USB audio. As

a digital turntable, X20 could connect to USB DAC amplifier to output USB

audio.

4.1 Enter the setting system, set the USB Mode to USB

4.2. The USB can output DSD audio (DOP mode), maximum is DSD128, It will

be automatically converted to PCM output when it beyond DSD128. If your

USB DAC amplifier supports DSD decoding, set the X20 SPDIF output to DOP,

if not, set the X20 digital output to D2P, as shown below:

4.3. The USB port ("USB IN") of USB decoder on the market generally has

MICRO USB or USB A input port. TYPE-C to MICRO USB or TYPE-C to

USB A cable is required. Connect TYPE-C to the X20 USB port, the other end

to USB port of the decoder. Setting your USB DAC amplifier is USB IN (if

necessary). Let the X20 play music. The music could be heard after your

amplifier connected to headphone/speaker. The volume can be adjusted by

adjust amplifier, USB OUT of X20 is set as the highest output volume, as shown

below:

5. Connect External USB Disk

The USB port of X20 has many functions, which can extend the storage capacity

of the U disk. Setting and connection methods are as the following:

5.1 Enter the setting system and set USB mode to USB

5.2. Prepare a Type C OTG cable. Connect to X20 USB port and the U disk, as

the following picture shows:

5.3. Go to the music browser, enter OTG and browse the music files on the U

disk, choose and PLAY

* Note: the music files on the U disk will not be loaded onto the music list

6. Use For USB DAC Function

The USB port of X20 has many functions. It can be used as a USB DAC

function (connecting to the computer USB port, playing the music on the

computer, and X20 as the USB decoder). the following are setting and

connection method:

6.1 Enter the setting system and set USB mode to DAC

6.2. Windows system needs to install the USB drive. Go to XDUOO official

website (www.xduoo.com) to download XDUOO-USB-DRIVER (with

installation manual) and install it to computer.

6.3. Use type C cable to connect computer and X20. Play music on computer,

Enjoy music with earphone.

*Note: if need to play DSD music (the highest support for Native DSD256), you need to install FOOBAR or other professional player software on computer.

7. Connect the Bluetooth Headset or Decoder

Enter the Bluetooth setting, turn on the Bluetooth (without opening the

hibylink). Then turn on the Bluetooth headset or decoder to make X20

automatically scan the available devices nearby. After find the Bluetooth headset

/ decoder, choose connect and wait for connection

* Note: Bluetooth can’t transmit DSD music. When DSD music is playing, the Bluetooth headset / decoder have no sound. This is normal.

8. HibyLink Connection (using a mobile phone app to control X20)

8.1. Turn on X20 and enter the Bluetooth settings

8.2 Turn on the Bluetooth and the HibyLink.

8.3 Turn on the APP on the mobile phone (download HiByMusic in the app

store), click the HiByLink icon, turn on HiByLink and search devices, find

xDuoo X20, click on Pair.

* Note: When paired with Hiby LINK, other Bluetooth device shouldn’t pair with the X20, and if X20 Bluetooth connection, otherwise the Hiby LINK will lose connection.

8.4 Click on the Song / Folder / Album and so on. The following is all the list of

Media Library on X20, so you can choose a song on your phone to play.

8.5 You can play, switch songs, delete or manage your songs in X20 through

Hiby player app.

8.6. You can also Scan the media library of X20 through Hiby APP.

8.7 You can adjust the X20 volume through the cell phon. When the cell phone

prompts need permission, please permit.

9. As Bluetooth DAC

By pairing with your cell phone, you can use X20 as Bluetooth DAC.

9.1 Find Bluetooth Setting on your cellphone and turn on

9.2 Switch on the Bluetooth of X20(do not switch on Hiby Link), scan, and

connect. (Same on cell phone), please confirm the connection on your cell

phone.

9.3 Success!

10. Car-play Mode

X20 can be used as audio source of your car amplifier, it can enhance the sound

quality. X20 will start/off and play along with the car. Setting method as follows:

10.1 Enter system settings and set to Car-play mode, and set to LINE OUT

mode.

10.2 Set the CD player to AUX mode.

10.3 Use Type-C cable to connect the X20 to the 5V power supplier.

10.4 Prepare a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio AUX cable to connect X20’s LINE OUT

port to the LINE IN /AUX IN port of the car.

10.5 Fix the X20 to your car, we suggest you use xDuoo magic sticker.

10.6 Start the engine, X20 will start together, play music, and then you can

enjoy.

10.7 You can play, switch songs, delete or manage your songs in X20 through

Hiby player app with your cell phone.

*Note:1.The only deference before Car-play mode and regular mode is that under Car-play mode, X20 will start/off along with the car, you can also choose not to switch it.When the X20 is set to the Car-play mode, you can't copy music through the USB port to the X20.

11. Charging

You can use any charger as long as it’s 5V and the current is larger than

1A(include).
