2. Curriculum
1. Study load - MSc: 120 ECTS
- PhD: 180 ECTS
3-year PhD, leading to the degree “European PhD in Environmental Technology”
- 180 ECTS doctoral training program, with a Training through education (45 ECTS)
and Training through research (135 ECTS) component.
- Training through education comprises specialized PhD courses from the
participating universities and leading research schools (SENSE, RECETO, HIGRADE,
SIE) as well as training in research skills, management skills and transferable skills
(including local language training)
- Training through research via a research project carried out at the host and at least
twosecondments (total 60 ECTS) to selected associate partners.
- Aim at publishing a minimum of 4 peer review papers, including a review paper,
two research papers and one outlook paper.
- Joint PhD diploma of University Cassino (Italy), University Paris Est (France) and
UNESCO-IHE (the Netherlands) ?????
Key Features
Education Programme
Level 1
• Summer schools, organized on a rotating basis between associated partners. They
are compulsory:
• 2011/2014 UNICAS on municipal solid waste management
• 2012 /2015 UPE on soil remediation
• 2013/2016 UNESCO-IHE on sediment remediation
Level 2
• Advanced PhD course on Environmental Technology at UPE (compulsory) from 6 to
10 June 2011, other courses to be defined at UNICAS and UNESCO-IHE.
Level 3
• Local PhD courses (voluntary basis) available at the host institutions visited by the
doctoral candidates according to their mobility plan.

1. Study load - MSc: 120 ECTS
- PhD: 180 ECTS
2. Admission requirements - A lot of applications for few fellowships : MSc: > 600; PhD: > 80
- How to get student with right background?
- Selection criteria: Language (TOEFL), motivation: not enough?
3. Judging and examinations - Trust in each others system, especially MSc
- Accept practice of local partner
