    14. How can you reach more people if you are only going to one city in Luzon,Visayas and Mindanao?

We plan to have it on video streaming and/or video-conference facilities of theschools.

    15. What is the near term plan for the first anniversary on the IndependenceDay of June 12, 2012.

After the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao campaign from January to March2012, those who are willing and ready to do their RoadRev in their towns and citieswill begin to plan it. The final coordination meeting will be held in the School of theSEA in Bantayan Island on May 11-12, 2012.

On June 12, roads around the country will be closed to motor vehicles andopened for people. On that day, children, youth organizations, civil society leaders, public officials, etc. will also plant vegetables on the roadsides and empty lots.

On this day, Independence Day, there will also be simultaneous pressconferences all over the country where the people will formally file the FilipinoDeclaration of Independence from Oil and Freedom from Hunger. On June 13,petitoners/registered voters of the barangay, town of city, will formally file thePetitions with their concerned Sangguniangs (councils). The objective is to changethe road system of their city/town to conform to the principle of Road Sharing those who have less in wheels must have more in roads. The Sangguniangs willhave 30 days to consider and take favorable action on the petition.

This will be the beginning to a socio-political upheaval to upset the existingmindset. It is a revolution that will be waged to create a shift in the mindset of theroad and transportation system to favor ordinary people who do not have cars andgive them their due of public space. It will also compel the government and otherprivate sectors to come up with a good and inexpensive public transportationsystem.

It will be a genuine revolution, not to replace people, there has been enoughof that and nothing much has happened because of the existing mindset. It is agenuine revolution a turn-around to replace a mindset that no longer works,

one that has destroyed the land and the soil, poisoned the air, and ruined thesocietal bonds of the beautiful people that are the Filipinos.

It is a revolution waged with only the sword of reason, the firepower of theLaw, and the violence of an idea whose time has come.

For the convenience of our good legislators, we will enclose a draft of the proposedordinance and the Implementation Plan. The Plan has been prepared by topexperts in spatial planning, land use, landscape design and traffic management.

    16. Will it not cost a lot of money to separate the roads into portions forsidewalks, bike lanes, and lanes for the envisioned collective transportationsystem?

No, because we will hardly need additional solid infrastructure. All we needto do is to divide the roads generally into four parts. About (~) 30% of the spaceshall be devoted to sidewalks and walkways, ~30% for bike lanes, ~30% forcollective and non-polluting transportation system, and ~10% urban edible gardens.

To see how this works, please come to the June 12, 2011 event.

    17. What is the Renewable Energy Train your group is building? How will it bepowered? Pedal, Solar, Wind? How can that be?

This is known as the Filipinos SeCRET a Self-Contained Renewable EnergyTrain.

    18. If you will succeed in reforming the road system to favor walking, cycling andcollective and non-polluting transportation systems, what will happen to the jeepneys and the jeepney drivers who will lose their jobs?

No, no one will be economically displaced. The jeepney operators anddrivers will be part of the solution instead of being part of the problem. We willshow to them the jeepney operators and drivers -- the super cost-efficiency ofthe Filipino SeCRET. They will see how much it will financially benefit them totransform their fleet to jeepneys, tricycles, etc. With the new system, they no longerhave to burn their money with their burning of gasoline and diesel.

We are now in discussions with transport groups to help them understandand seize the opportunity to be a model of a Filipino ingenuity. It is also a perfectchan ce to restore the spirit of Bayanihan in a community -based-and- ownedmodel of a public transportation system.

    19. Why will you plant vegetables on the roadsides and vacant grounds, evenon the sidewalk cracks?

We have paved over with concrete so much of land that we no longer have placesto plant. By planting in any open soil and vacant (non-concreted) spaces, even inthe cracks of sidewalks, we are sending a powerful message to our governmentand our people: There is no reason for Filipinos to be poor and hungry. Thiscollective action on June 12 by the Filipinos to turn their city into an edible gardenis also our own humble, but strong, declaration of freedom from hunger.

    20. What if the local government does not heed your petition? What can the

people do?The Law says that if the local legislative council (Sangguniang Panlungsod) doesnot take favorable action on the proposition to pass an ordinance within thirty (30)days, the voters who initiated the petition can call for a referendum. They can file aPetition with the Commission on Election to set the date for the referendum whenthe proposed ordinance will be submitted to a direct vote by the people.

Considering the number of people who have no motor vehicles, and those who liketo walk, bike, and breathe clean air, guess who will have the upper hand in thereferendum?

The movement is backed up by a crack team of international and Filipino lawyers, scientists, and experts in different fields of expertise. They have organized a LegalEnforcement Action Team who will see this through, pro bono, et amore.

This will be implemented through an ordinance which are to be observed by LGUs.
