1 INTRODUCTION:

This environmental report covers exploration and rehabilitation work completed by the Company during

the period 2011 to 2013. An Environmental scoping study and an EMP (Environmental Management

Plan) is currently being conducted by an environmental consultant, SLR Environmental Consulting

(Namibia) (Pty) Ltd within the licenses area.

Exclusive Prospecting License (EPL) 3540 was renewed to Gazania Investments Nine (Pty) Ltd on the

30th of October 2013 until the 29

th of October 2015. The EPL was originally issued for the exploration of

base and rare metals industrial minerals and precious stones. The License area is located about 20

kilometres east of Otavi (Figure.1 & 7).

EPL 3540 covers 220 km2 and incorporates the Kombat Copper Trend which follows a major east west

structure associated with high copper anomalies in soils and outcrop.

2 PREVIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE The license area surrounds the Kombat mining area, the Gross Otavi mine and the historic Baltika Mine,

which have seen sustained mining over the last 100 years. The area has also been farmed for around a

century, with much of the landscape cleared of vegetation on the flats. Many of these cleared flats have

since been over-run with weed species of thorn bush. There is no significant damage to the environment

from current and previous exploration or mining activities outside these historic mining centres.


3 EXPLORATION AND REHABILITATION

3.1 Regional and detailed Geochemistry Mapping and sampling programmes were completed on specified grid patterns ranging from 200X50m

grid spacing (reconnaissance sampling) to grids of 100m by 50m and in some instances on a 50m by

20m grid spacing. Soil sampling excavations, which were around 30x30x30cm (hand-held shovel width

and depth), were immediately back filled after sampling.

Geophysics

A low level geophysical survey was conducted by contractor Greg Symons Geophysics (Pty) Ltd within

the Guchab area of the License. The survey was a Fixed Loop Transient Electromagnetic (TEM)

geophysical survey completed during the period December 2012 to January 2013.

A gravity survey was undertaken at the end of 2013 over the Guchab, Rodgerberg and Schlangenthal

areas. The survey covered an area of 4km by 2km and contain 2485 points on about 50m stations in an

attempt define the full extent of mineralisation in the area. The survey was non-penetrative and non-

destructive to the environment.

Geophysical surveys are non-destructive and non-pervasive methods which have minimal environmental

impact apart from limited noise pollution during airborne surveys.

4 DRILLING

Reverse Circulation (RC) Drilling

A total of 22 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes were drilled in the Schlangenthal Prospect to follow up on

mineralised intersections identified during the percussion drilling programme (refer to table 10 for hole

location details).

A total of 396 metres of RC drilling was achieved during the July-December period in 2013.

Notification of intention to drill was lodged and approved with the Ministry of Mines and Energy and

drilling was conducted during the second half of 2013. The drilling equipment mobilised for the project is

indicated in Table 7.

Two water boreholes were drilled in 2012 to supply water to the diamond drilling contractor at the Guchab

project and the local farmer. Prior to that water for drilling purposes was transported to the drill site using

a truck mounted water tank. All drillholes were rehabilitated immediately after completion. (Tables 8-9,

Figure1-2)

6 POLLUTION AND WASTE

All refuse such as, bottles, tins, paper, and plastic, was collected at drill sites, sealed, and removed from

the prospecting area on a weekly basis and deposited within the Kombat Mine Municipal dump. The

exploration staff and drilling contractors were housed at a camp established 4 km south of Kombat Mine.

Very little domestic refuse was therefore generated near the drilling sites. The license area was left clean

after the drilling exploration programme during the period under review.

7 HEALTH AND SAFETY

All company and contract personnel were equipped with necessary protective wear against dust, noise

and air pollution within.

8 ROADS AND TRACKS

Six kilometres of tracks were constructed within the license area during the drilling programme. Five

kilometres of the tracks used were rehabilitated by raking over. The remaining tracks have not been

rehabilitated and will used during follow-up drilling programmes planned for the second half of 2014.

9 INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT No major infrastructural developments were built within the license area. All drilling contract and

permanent staff were housed in a camp near Kombat Mine.

10 TRENCHING Trenching was not conducted during the period under review. Excavations done during previous

exploration programmes were rehabilitated and back filled.

11 PROTECTION OF FAUNA AND FLORA All Gazania personnel and drilling contractors were given an in house induction course in environmental

protocols and protection of wildlife.


12 FUTURE EXPLORATION, RECOMMENDATIONS

A full EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) is recommended for the Guchab prospect where a

sufficient resource is likely to be identified. Exploration will be intensified during the upcoming exploration

period in and around the Guchab area to define a JORC compliant mineral resource.

The company has a strict environmental management policy and environmental audits are conducted

during and after completion of any major exploration or drilling programme. (Tables 7-8).

Recommendations from the environmental consultant will be considered during all exploration phases
