We integrate environmental considerations into management decisions, investments and policies striving for continuous improvement in our development, sourcing, manufacturing, and transportations activities. The companies and employees of the DeLaval Group are required to comply with all environmental laws and regulations of the countries and jurisdictions in which they operate and work. Guidelines for our environmental activities Pro-activeness We continuously seek to improve our understanding of what it means for our customers and ourselves to be more environmentally sustainable. This information allows us to take a leading position in terms of environmental performance, makes it possible for us to create competitive advantages and provides us freedom in when we take what actions to improve our operations. Holistic perspective • Environmental aspects will be considered in our decision making process when relevant. • Environmental demands will be put on our suppliers and other cooperating parties. Continuous improvement • We actively seek opportunities for improvements and once decided our actions are implemented, checked and corrected in order to improve our environmental performance. • Follow-up and evaluation of our environmental performance will be conducted when relevant. Development New products and services should aim to improve customers’ environmental performance. Sales and Marketing • We aim to support our customers to improve their environmental performance. • We will seek to offer our best performing products in all our markets. • Marketing with environmental arguments must be relevant and based on facts. Information and education • We will publicly provide information regarding our environmental priorities and performance. • By information and education, all employees will be made aware of the environmental challenges facing our customers and our own operations. • Individual proposals and initiatives for environmental improvements will be supported. • Information and communication concerning environmental issues of operations will be open and objective. Investments As part of the risk assessment related to investments, environmental risks should be assessed and agreed with the GM member responsible for environmental affairs.
