As a group, decide on a topic and sign up for it on the chart. Once you have signed up for a topic, generate at least three solid research questions to guide your investigation (your Essential questions):– A question that explores the subject- “What is/was ___”– A question that explores a cause- “What factors influenced

the life of African Americans in Alabama in the 1960s?”– A question that explores an effect by evaluating the

Tomorrow is Research Day in the library

• For tomorrow, you will be bringing notecards to help organize your research.

• Each note card is for a different source. • On the front of the notecard you will put the citation for the

source (Article title, author, location of source, page numbers, web address, date of publication, etc).

• The back of the note card will be for your notes- direct quotes you want to use, paraphrases of important details, etc.

These will become your reference cards, so when you are organizing your presentation, you have a quick source to go back and get more specific information as needed.
