Firstly, I want to let you know of current staffing arrangements. Kevin Lane remains our substantive Deputy Principal at Narara and will be acting Principal of Glenvale when I am away or at training or fulfilling other department requirements. Karen Campbell (Assistant Principal Narara) is now acting Deputy Principal for the North Entrance Campus, replacing Deputy Principal Sarah Turnbull (Maternity Leave). Brieahn March (Assistant Principal North Entrance) continues substantively in her role. Paul Kannapinn at Narara is acting Assistant Principal replacing substantive Assistant Principal Judy-Ann Cluff who is currently seconded to a State Office senior officer role. Maureen Pobje at Narara is acting Assistant Principal replacing substantive Assistant Principal Russell Garstang who continues at The Croft as Head Teacher Support One of our newest recruit Damien O’Keefe at Narara, is acting Assistant Principal replacing substantive Assistant Principal Karen Campbell whilst she relives for Sarah. With all these changes there is still ongoing consistency for students in classrooms with minimal change overall. That is always our priority. On the matter of student health, if you child requires an asthma management plan, epilepsy plan or anaphylaxis plan can you please ensure that these are prepared and updated by your GP and returned to the school. It is essential that if we have an emergency that our staff have the most current and in-date health care management advice to ensure correct procedures are followed and that we minimise risk to students. The school is recognising NAIDOC week. NAIDOC Week is an Australian observance lasting from the first Sunday in July until the following Sunday. NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You will get to see some of the activities in photos across this and other editions of the newsletter next term. Significant building works will be visible at The Entrance North Campus during the holidays as preparation for new buildings and refurbishment finally get under way. This will be a huge improvement, but we will need to be patient over the next 12 months whilst all work is completed without disrupting the school programs. Once we have the playground and COLA complete we can install a new liberty swing. Significant grounds work has made the Narara Campus look a lot better and more garden improvements, fencing and play equipment are in planning. After the holiday break, staff will be attending training on Monday the 22 nd (Staff Development Day) with students returning Tuesday July 23. The new reports should be with you and I hope to receive your feedback and comments. I am proud of the work and effort staff have made in this huge endeavour and change. I hope that all students and families have a safe break. Looking forward to working with everyone again in Term 3. Regards as always. Matt

Voluntary School Contributions

Every public school asks for a small contribution towards the many

costs associated with education programs.

At Glenvale, we ask that parents contribute $35 per child each year.

This has not changed for many years and is very small in compari-

son to other schools, even though our costs can be much higher.

Please consider sending in the $35 as soon as you are able to do so;

a payment can be made via our webpage www.glenvale-s.schools.nsw.edu.au. Go

to the ‘Make a Payment’ tab and follow the links.

Many thanks to those who have already done so.

All donations to the school over $2 are tax deductible as Glenvale is registered

with the Australian Tax Office as a deductible gift.

Term 3

Please return permission notes and information

regarding students ASAP.
