IntroductionThe Kawneer AA®545 Swing Door completes theAA®540 Series Window & Door range and hasbeen designed to offer optimum weather andthermal performance at a competitive price.

The AA®545 Swing Door is a high performancedoor which uses multi-chamber thermal breaktechnology and a thermally enhanced centreseal, ensuring thermal efficiency and fullcompliance with Approved Document L. Withthe use of extruded gasket profiles, this systemachieves its weathering performance by meansof drained and ventilated glazing rebates.

Designed for direct fix into prepared openingsand within ribbon windows, the range can suitewith the Kawneer curtain walling and framingsystems and is suitable for low or high risebuildings.

The AA®545 Swing Door is available as a singleaction open-in or open-out swing door and canbe single or dual colour. It is suitable for bothlight and medium duty requirements, making itideal for low to medium frequency use indwellings and commercial applications.

ConstructionThe AA®545 Swing Door is a three chamberpressure equalised system crimped withmechanical corner cleats. Weathering isachieved by the use of single and dualdurometer, EPDM gaskets.

Swing Doors are high performance thermallyefficient doors due to the polyamide thermalbreak that is incorporated into the aluminiumprofile. With the use of extruded gasketprofiles, this system achieves its weatheringperformance by means of drained andventilated glazing rebates.

Designed for direct fix to masonry, window anddoor composites or ribbon windows, the rangecan suite with the Kawneer curtain walling andframing systems and is suitable for low or highrise buildings.

The AA®605TE and AA®605TEPlus SwingDoors are available as single action open-inor open-out swing doors and can be singleor dual colour.

AA®720 Series Door Systems

IntroductionThe Kawneer AA®720 Door has beendeveloped to meet the latest Europeanrequirements for thermal performance and hasbeen future proofed against expected changesin thermal regulation up to 2019.

To enable complete flexibility of design,performance and cost, the AA®720 Door isavailable in two levels of thermal performance,the AA®720 and the AA®720HI.

The 72mm profiles incorporate the very latestthermal technology including; extrudedpolyamide thermal breaks, insulated centreseals and foam isolators.

As well as being fully integrated, the AA®720Door can suite with Kawneer’s curtain wallingand framing products and is suitable forinstallation in low or high rise buildings forcommercial and domestic new build orrefurbishment projects.

ConstructionCrimped or pinned with mechanical cornercleats. Corner braces are also used.

Weathering is achieved by the use of single anddual durometer, EPDM gaskets.

Pressure equalised system.

IntroductionThe AA®720 FR consists of door and fixed lightvariants that are compliant with the latestEuropean standards offering 30 minute insulationand integrity.

This is cleverly achieved using additionalcomponents to the standard AA®720 System andwith the use of specialist fire-rated glazing.

PerformanceKawneer’s AA®720 FR has been tested inaccordance with DIN EN 1634-1 achieving EI230(insulation and integrity), and has met therequirements of DIN EN 1634-3 for smokeprotection. Testing has been carried out at variouslocations.

Kawneer’s AA®720 FR Door and Fixed Lightvariants enable design flexibility when fireprotection is a requirement to building design.They enable safe evacuation of buildingoccupants by offering fire and smokeprotection in escape routes. They can also beused to prevent the spread of fire through thebuilding and to adjacent buildings.

Performance of the system is heavilydependent on the performance of theindividual profiles, hardware items, specialistglazing and the interface between the systemand the building structure. All these factorshave been carefully considered in thedevelopment of the product.

IntroductionThe thermally efficient 451PT Framingsystem, designed in close collaborationwith the Consortium for Local AuthoritySpecial Projects (CLASP) now known asSCAPE, meets the needs of the educationrefurbishment and new build markets. It isalso suitable for use on commercialprojects, in the public sector and is alsoideal for large display windows in the retailsector.

The 451PT Framing system providesslimline, dual colour and multi-glazedframing modules of varying widths andheights that feature fixed lights, openingvents and insulated panels and is fullycompliant with Document L and ScottishBuilding Standards Part 6.

AA®4001 Framing System

IntroductionThe AA®4001 Semi-unitised Framing system,designed in line with the DfE’s ‘Building schoolsfor the future’ is compliant with current buildingregulations, acoustics BB93 and environmentallyfriendly classrooms BB95.

As well as traditional stick build and semi unitising,the system offers the advantage of fully unitisedassembly and also enables it to meet thedemands of fast track work schedules andrestricted working conditions.

The AA®4001 Semi-unitised Framing system isadaptable to any new construction project, anddue to the fact that it can be quickly installed inoccupied buildings with minimal disturbance, thesystem is ideal for refurbishment projects.

ConstructionThe AA®4001 Semi-unitised Framing system usesshear block construction and is a fully drained andpressure equalised system offering optimalweather performance. Concealed vents arecleated and crimped.

Weather PerformanceThe system, installed and glazed to Kawneerrecommended procedures, has been tested inaccordance with BS 6375.
