The epic battle of the smartphones T he whole world is full of smart phones. From the Iphone to the Nexus, there are big and there are small. It’s like the whole world is being taken over by smart phones. I mean, the idea of being able to instagram a photo from the moun- tains when there is no wifi around is pretty amazing. Most teenagers love the idea of checking Insta- gram and facebook while at school; it’s sort of like a rebelish feeling for some students, others, it’s a daily routine. The one thing everyone wants to know: what are the best smart phones, the fast- est, and the sleekest. The Galaxy nexus just arrived on shelves in May 2012 as the best thing since sliced bread. The Iphone 4S has also arrived on shelves with new features like SIRI and IOS 5 – a brand new software featureThough many say that both of them are the best, it all comes down to what’s in- side, not just the outside. The Galaxy Nexus, a touch screen, the Ice Cream Sandwich processor and com- plete simplicity has been claimed to be one of the best phones to come out in the past two years. With the little green Android dude, there is nothing this phone can’t do; just like they say, it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Even though the phone is extremely simple and has a fast processor the phone is still a touch screen and not many people like touch screens and would prefer a keyboard instead. Downfalls on touch screens: They crack extremely easily if you drop them which is what makes the Nexus, and other smart phones a very valuable item. Unfortunately for people who like to multi task with everything, the Galaxy Nexus is having some issues with the multi-touch capabil- ity. We can’t really say that these negatives will last forever, the ICS processor and the Nexus in itself is fairly new and with every new electronic and proces- sor, there will be problems that will eventually get fixed. The Galaxy Nexus may have the ICS proces- sor, but the Iphone4S has the brand new IOS 5, a revolutionary software update that has complete fact detection with the camera; also, the IOS 5 fixed a bug that was draining the battery of the Iphone. Not everyone likes the Iphone, and that is OK. People have their own opinions on what kind of smart phone they want; there are usually two sides to the debate: the Microsoft team and Apple team. In my opinion, Apple team wins, the Iphone is sleek, better cases, more apps and a better system. Android might have the little green dude but Iphone users have Siri, the most technological AI since smart phones came out. The new processor: the A5 chip, which is only used in the iPad and the iPhone4S. Are fingerprints on your phone an issue? With the iPhone4S you will never have a problem with them ever again. The coating on the glass has made the screen of the 4S completely resistant to fingerprints, which is a major pro for com- pulsive cleaners who have to make sure their screen is clean 24/7. Airplay, the act of playing videos from your Iphone to your HDTV if you have iCloud; this is a great ad- vance, especially if an owner of this smart phone is without a syncing cord to connect their device to a computer. All in all, the Iphone is probably the best investment here, not only because of the price being about $150 dollars cheaper but the software and easy access to pretty much about everything is better.
