EBRD SUPPORTS TRANSITION CITIES Over the next two years, the European Bank for Recon- struction and Development (EBRD) aims to increase its annual investments in municipal projects in central and eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Indepen- dent States (CIS) to up to c350 million. The municipal and env- ronmental infrastructure sector has become one of the EBRD’s priority areas of investment for advancing transition in the region. Working closely with local and regional authorities committed to reform. the EBRD has so far committed a total of e900 million to ME1 projects in about I25 munici- palities in IS countries.
