ENRICHMENT MINI-COURSES PROGRAM
IMPORTANT: Please place this letter on your dashboard to waive the parking fee (valid only for Sunday, May 5, 2013). Dear Parents: We are delighted that your child has chosen Carleton University for the Enrichment Mini-Courses Program (EMCP) 2013.
On Sunday, May 5, 2013 you are welcome to join us at the EMCP Orientation Day. This is an opportunity for you to meet the instructor(s) and get oriented with the campus where your child will be attending class for the week. A typical orientation session will last for about an hour - meeting your instructor(s), your classmates, etc. We anticipate close to 3000 people at the orientation and so we have scheduled three sessions. For courses # 200-217 the session is at 1pm; for courses # 219-236 at 2pm; and for courses # 237-254 at 3pm. We request that you come and attend the scheduled time of your orientation.
If you are also interested in a formal guided tour (45 minutes) of the campus before or after your class orientation, please register online at: http://admissions.carleton.ca/enrichment-mini-courses-program-tours/ (only two sessions are offered).
We have enclosed the brochure (lavender) outlining the program, along with the leaflet (Quick Guide to Carleton) which you can review in advance of the orientation. We will be meeting in the TORY QUAD area (please refer to the map on the back of the brochure). Please read these brochures carefully and make sure to note the time of your orientation session and the alternative location in case of inclement weather.
You may also be interested to know that five $1,000 scholarships are presented annually to former EMCP students. Each student who attends a mini-course at Carleton is eligible to apply and COULD QUALIFY for a $1,000 scholarship upon admission to a first year undergraduate program at Carleton University. For additional information on the EMCP scholarships or other details about the EMCP at Carleton University, visit http://www.carleton.ca/emcp.
Please let us know if you have any questions, or need assistance. We look forward to meeting you on Sunday May 5, 2013. Sincerely, Nestor B. Querido Enrichment Mini-Courses Program (EMCP) Carleton University 1125 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, ON K1S-5B6
