Y6 children may wear pyjamas to school on Friday 17th July!

I am currently planning, with reference to DfE guidance, for the full reopening of our school to

ALL children on 8th September (the Government has stated that all children must attend school

from September). I will share the plan and risk assessment with you next week, subject to

agreement of our CEO, Mr Darren Holmes. I am so excited at the thought of seeing everyone !

September Breakfast Club news!

I am pleased to inform you that our Breakfast Club will start again when we return to school in September.

The cost for Breakfast Club has been increased to £4 per session per child, payable via ParentPay.

Breakfast Club opens at 7.30am and children are provided with breakfast, adult supervision and access to

games, books and iPads. You don’t need to book in advance, just bring your child to the upper school

main entrance and ring the bell for access. Children in EYFS and Key Stage One (infants) will be taken to

their classrooms by an adult at the start of the school day.

We will try wherever possible to ensure that children stay in their ‘bubbles’ whilst in Breakfast Club.

Working together to stay alert and stay safe

If you or your child is poorly with Covid-19 symptoms, please let us know.

We also ask that parents disclose any Test and Trace results to us immediately.

Thank you!

The Act of Kindness award for this week goes to Olivia Collingwood.

On Tuesday morning, she noticed that a bee was lying on the main path into school. She

managed to move him onto a flower so that he would be somewhere safe. What a kind thing to do!

Don’t forget to come to the Monday (1.30pm) and Friday (9.30am)

assemblies on Mrs Channing’s Teams assembly channel, children!

I wonder what the story will be about on Monday?

Exciting news and changes for September!

I am delighted to inform you that Miss Burley is going to be a mummy!

We are all extremely excited at the thought of another Roseberry baby joining our

school family. We need to make sure that Miss Burley stays safe and well and, although her maternity

leave will begin in November, we have been advised this week that she will not be able to interact with a

full class of children from September due to the pandemic. With this in mind, we are in the process of

appointing a fabulous teacher for our September Year One class. I know that this may be a little unsettling

for the parents and children of children in Mrs Barker’s class, and offer apologies, as this is an

unforeseen change to our September plans. Please be assured that I will keep you informed as soon as

an appointment is made and ask our new teacher to post an introduction video on Teams asap.

The great ‘stuff’ collection!

In last week’s newsletter, I mentioned that our merry band of Teaching Assistants had been tasked with the job of

finding, bagging, and labelling children’s belongings from trays and pegs so that they may be collected. In order that

social distancing may be observed, we will have collection times for parents to visit school and collect their child’s

belongings. Bags will contain siblings’ items, so that you don’t have to come into school twice!

Older children's belongings will be in the youngest sibling’s bag. Bags will be outside the lower school main

entrance on tables ready for collection at theses times:

Classes for September

Class lists for September will be released on Teams today. Classes are set by school leaders in consultation with

current teachers who know children extremely well. They know which children work well together, which children

distract one another, and the way in which individuals learn. We consider boy:girl ratio and the percentage of

children who may need additional support or challenge. We also consider the balance of Roseberry:Marwood

children in Year Three/Four classes. The balance within each class is carefully considered. Children may not always

be with their best friend, but please reassure them that this is not a bad thing - they wouldn’t be able to sit and natter

to their friends in class anyway! They will learn to collaborate with others and make new friends, saving the social

side of school for playtime!

Mrs Maylard’s online clothing store!

If you need school clothing ready for September, please email Mrs Maylard on

[email protected] to arrange collection or free delivery of good quality, used, uniform.

Items are not priced, however if you wish to give to a donation to our school fund via ParentPay,

this will be gratefully received!

Sending love at a sad and difficult time

On behalf of everyone within our school family, I would like to send love and sympathy to Crystal, Jayden and Harley who

have, very sadly, lost their lovely dad. Keep your memories safe - our thoughts are with you.

As we are unable to hold events at the moment, our Y6 Leavers’ assembly will take place on

Mrs Channing’s assembly channel on Teams on Friday 17th July at 9.30am. See you there!
