YOUR TRUSTED MINERAL SUPPLIER As the world leader in mineral-based
specialty solutions for industrial applications, Imerys transforms
a unique range of minerals to deliver functions that are essential
to its customers’ products and manufacturing processes.
INTEGRATING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT INTO ALL WE DO At Imerys, we
respect the world in which we operate. We are committed to our role
in society, to meeting our obligations to the countries and
communities in which we do business, as well as to acting
responsible environment stewards. Our Corporate Social
Responsibility policy is built upon three mainstays: Empowering our
people: Ensuring that health and safety come first by developing
and continually improving our health and safety culture and systems
to achieve an injury-free workplace. Developing our human capital
by respecting internationally recognized human rights and labor
practices as set out in our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics;
investing in the talent and skills of our employees; engaging in
constructive social dialogue, and fostering a culture of workplace
diversity and inclusion based on mutual respect.
Caring for our planet: Acting as responsible environmental stewards
by assessing environmental risks and continually improving control
measures to reduce adverse environmental impacts; maximizing the
efficient use of natural resources, and preserving biodiversity.
Building for the future: Ensuring exemplary Business Conduct by
maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance;
respecting and implementing fair operating practices and ensuring a
responsible supply-chain with all our partners; engaging with local
communities to create shared value in particular through education
and skills development. Ensuring that our products are safe for
people and the environment and developing sustainable solutions
that make positive contributions to society from both life cycle
assessment as well as long term sustainability perspectives as well
as long term sustainability perspectives.
Imerys delivers high value-added, functional solutions to a
diversified set of industrial sectors, from processing industries
to consumer goods. The Group draws on its knowledge of
applications, technological expertise and its material science
know-how to deliver solutions based on the beneficiation of its
mineral resources, synthetic minerals, and formulations. These
contribute essential properties to customers’ products and
performance, including barrier performance, extended tack, opacity,
rheological and reinforcing properties and many more. OUR
EXPERTISE
Imerys has over a hundred years of experience in the minerals
business and the widest portfolio of minerals available to ACS
formulators today to help optimize process and final product
functionality. We refine and engineer these minerals through
various often proprietary processes, that influence their
concentration, size, shape, structure and surface chemistry to
obtain the exact properties our customers require. Each year, we
process thousands of tons of materials to the highest standards of
quality, consistency and reliability. Imerys’ dedicated team has
in-depth knowledge of the adhesives, caulks and sealants industry,
of how minerals interact in these applications and a proven track
record for developing new, value-added solutions for customers as
well as providing day-to-day support and logistics to ensure that
our customers are assisted throughout the supply chain.
IMERYS, THE WORLD LEADER IN SPECIALITY MINERALS
VALUE ADDED SOLUTIONS
RHEOLOGY Tightly controlled particle size and size distribution,
specialized surface modification, along with a wide range of Imerys
minerals and their morphology allows diverse sets of options to
modulate shear-thinning rheology and yield stress while improving
storage stability and performance of many of the adhesives and
sealants. BARRIER PERFORMANCE Kaolin, mica and milled perlite are
naturally platy minerals and after enhancement through further
engineering during the manufacturing process, these platy
structures can give excellent barrier properties in sealants and
adhesives by creating a tortuous path to protect the material that
has been sealed. EXTENDED TACK The engineered platy structure of
our hydrous kaolin, Diatomaceous earth products can also
beneficially extend the tack of an adhesive by delaying the
absorption of the adhesive into the substrate. REINFORCEMENT Imerys
offers a wide range of minerals, that have highly optimized
submicron particles that include a tightly designed particle size
distribution. These specific surface energy manipulations allow
Imerys minerals the ability to enhance end-product applications
with strength, flexibility such as tensile, tear and elongation.
MOISTURE SENSITIVE APPLICATIONS The low surface hydroxyl content of
our calcined kaolin, surface treated wollastonite and mica ensures
low moisture pick-up, resulting in an excellent performance in
moisture sensitive Modified Silicone (MS) and Polyurethane (PU)
sealant applications. Specialized supply chain measures are also
available for the most demanding applications. Stearate treated GCC
and PCC allows the control of hydrophobicity, which enables easier
dispersion, low moisture pick-up and easier in situ or physical
drying, which are important criteria in formulating adhesives and
sealants. LIGHTWEIGHTING With its widest choice of mineral and
mineralogical properties, Imerys has a distinct position to offer
various options to reduce the weight of parts, adhesives, sealants
and coatings, either through downgauging or incorporating very
lightweight minerals without sacrificing end application
performances.

NETWORKED & INTER-CONNECTED
The Imerys Technology Center - Atlanta (ITC-A) is a key laboratory
in Imerys’ network of nine global Science and Technology
facilities. It is home to a diverse group of geologists, scientists
and engineers. The technical community at ITC-A is networked and
interconnected with centers around the world, sharing ideas,
equipment and competencies in an agile and effective way. It is our
vision that the ITC-A will become the place to ideate and innovate
with our partners and potential clients to develop innovative
solutions with a strong customer- centric approach.
