Introduction
With every passing year and indeed every passing oncology conference we have seen increasing complexity in the array of anti-cancer treatments being deployed in modern oncology. Whilst this has inevitably contributed to the increasing cancer survival, we also see emergence of novel and unconventional toxicities emerging. Additionally, we see increasing 'geriatrization' of our oncology population and this has further strain on medical services across the country as well as on the continent Supportive care is increasingly seen at the forefront of the prevention and management of the adverse effects of cancer as well as cancer treatments. There has never been more of a need for oncology and supportive care services to interface seamlessly and provide a joined up approach for the care of our patients
