IntroductionOur largest and best resource within the BEDA program are our 504 Language Assistants. Those who continue into a fourth year do so having gained experience and expertise in a field until now poorly defined. The BEDA Workshop Symposium is an attempt to share some of this raw expertise between friends and colleagues through a free and frank exchange of ideas.

Welcome to the 3rd annual BEDA workshop Symposium. Once again we have an opportunity to see the innovation enjoyed in classes led by our language assistants in schools every day all over Spain.

This year we offer expertise across a wide and diverse range of topics from phonetics through to exam preparation and music in the classroom.

The aim of these workshops is to provide material that is tried and tested allowing us all to share the kind of insights gained through dedicated class time.

Thank you to all the speakers for their willingness to provide such hard-earned knowledge in the true spirit of education.

We would like you to openly share ideas during the presenta-tions while respecting the Speaker´s intention to complete the presentation within the allotted time.

Bienvenido al 3º Simposio anual BEDA. Una vez más tenemos la oportuni-dad de ver la innovación disfrutando de las actividades dirigidas por nues-tros auxiliares de conversación en las escuelas todos los días por toda España.

Este año ofrecemos experiencia en una amplia y variada gama de temas, desde la fonética hasta la preparación de exámenes y la música en el aula.

El objetivo de estos talleres es proporcionar material que está comprobado y que permite a todos compartir los conocimientos adquiridos a través del tiempo dedicado en la clase.

Gracias a todos los ponentes por su disposición por proporcionar tal cono-cimiento duramente ganado en el verdadero espíritu de la educación.

This workshop is to help those who would like to either start or finish their class with fun simple activities geared towards all age groups. Whether you finish class early and find yourself with some extra time, or want to liven up the class with a game this is for you.

In my workshop I’ll share some ideas about how to prepare and organize small projects in the classroom. We will talk about how we can incorporate those projects into the students’ every-day English lessons, as well as how to deal with time manage-ment in class. The aim of this workshop is to show some concepts and topics that can be used both in small and larger student groups. Most of the activities and ideas are oriented towards High School level classes, but they can be adjusted for Primary School upper levels.

PEQUEÑOS PROJECTOS PARA EL AULAEn este taller compartiré algunas ideas sobre cómo preparar y organizar pequeños proyectos en el aula. Hablaremos de cómo podemos incorporar dichos proyectos a las clases regulares de inglés de los alumnos, además de cómo administrar correctamente el tiempo dentro del aula durante las activi-dades. Éste taller pretende mostrar diversos conceptos y temas que pueden ser utilizados tanto en grupos con un menor o mayor número de alumnos. A pesar de que las actividades e ideas de las que hablaremos están orientadas a grupos de Secundaria y Bachillerato, algunos pueden ser amoldadas para ser utilizadas con grupos de 5º o 6º de primaria.

This workshop will give fellow BEDA auxiliaries ideas for teaching physical education and incorporating movement into their English classes. I will focus on movement in the classroom using Total Physical Response (TPR) and Active Play Active Learning (APAL) techniques by giving activity ideas for vocabu-lary reinforcement, cooperative learning and “brain breaks”.

For most of us, these games aren’t so new, in fact these are games that we often play with friends on a typical Saturday night.
